Dear Freshmen

Hello new freshmen be prepared for the beginning of your high school career. Your experiences will be good if you apply what you will learn and know.  This experience will be new and possibly scary if you don’t look at it positively. I am writing to you to give you advice on how to do your best in this new experience of being a Freshman.

Being a Freshman can be a hard challenge if you don’t apply yourself you have to use all the skills you know and all the ones you will learn from the wonderful ninth grade teachers. The biggest skills you will have to use to be able to be successful are and open mind. You will learn many things so you will have to except them even if you are not use to them. For example DGP with Miss. Transue you will have different marks and new concepts when diagramming sentences. You will have to have good note taking skills as well especially for Mr. Woolcock the chemistry concepts can be hard. Mr. Woolcock lets you take these notes and use them during test so it will be in your best interest to take advantage of them.

Also being a Freshman is new fun and exciting. you will have opportunities you never had before like the peprallys. They are a lot of fun they allow you to get away for 1 or 2 class periods. They also have games like move the mountain where they pit grades versus each other. You also have a new and improved field day with bouncy house boxing and so much more.

Finally make sure to have fun and look at it with a positive attitude. Most of all make your Freshman year the best because Miss transue thinks Freshman are the best. Lastly remember it may seem hard but you will get through it easily if you work hard, apply yourself, and take notes.

This song is about love and how firry and hot it can be.  It says how many people fall in love are consumed by its burning fire of passion. It also represents the way love makes the mind fevered. Fevered means that is all consuming and takes over your life.

This song is music to thy ears it speaks of Romeo and Juliet a couple famous for more than 400 years. The play showed love now portrayed in song through through allusion. Every few lines has many meanings all depending on how you think. The song is about love and how powerful it can be. The allusion shows love in deeper meaning not necessary to the song. The accuracy is also correct for the allusion to be used properly and in the best way possible.

 The allusion in this song is representing Romeo’s and Juliet’s love. The line "Julie baby you're my flame" shows that they love each other with a burning passion but also flame shows life and if Juliet’s goes out he will not have a life worth living. Secondly the line "Thou givest fever when we kisseth" show how much they loved each other and that when they kiss it was All consuming and gave them love from there on. This refers to the party when they first kissed because it is when they fell in love.

 IN conclusion this allusion is correct because they do end up killing them self’s because they think each other is dead, and when they met they were instantly in love when they kissed. This song also states how they would be all consumed by their love and they were because when one was thought to be dead they killed them self’s.  their love was strong so strong that if they lost the other they would die from their own hand.

         In conclusion the Inheritance Cycle is a fantasy book series with actual historical knowledge on the making of armor and swords and battle tactics that were used and have been used, and the punishments used in medieval times.

            Winter a terrible thing that I wish was gone. During this winter we have had lots of cold weather which I loathe. We have had little snow lately, but when we did get some snow it was a very irritable task cleaning up the left over mess. I want spring to come so that we can have normal temperature that is not to hot and not to cold. In the winter the days are too short to enjoy to the full measure of them. The sun does not come out till right before I leave my house to go to school. Then by time I get home at three forty the sun is about to go down at five O'clock.

This winter has been one of the better ones though for the reason that we have had small amounts of snow.  Then we have also had a few days when the temperature was not to frigid. Like January thirtieth we had sixty five degree weather at my house. The good news of this winter is that the time the sun is up is increasing every day meaning we are getting even closer to spring. When spring comes winter will be gone and temperature will increase.

Winter is so cold and frigid and needs to go away. The winter is cold and causes you to have Goosebumps. Winter also leaves behind a mess. Winter has causes some people much distress. This winter has not been so bad but still unlikeable.

3rd Person Omniscient

      Duncan was laying there on his bed patiently thinking “Why does school have to be forced upon his life.”

Meanwhile his mom down stairs yelled his name three times for breakfast. The longer she waited the more she thought “Why can’t I have a son that just would listen.”

Then his mother in the height of her anger marched up stairs slammed the door open and began yelling. Duncan was just laying there thinking “I don’t care.”

3rd Person Limited Omniscient

           Duncan was lying on his bed patiently thinking “Why does school have to be forced upon me.”

He could hear his mom screaming down stairs for him to come for breakfast but he “did not care.” He heard her stampeding up the steps but he just thought why “Can’t she leave me alone.”

The door slammed open and his mom stood there red in the face with anger lines on her face. Then she started yelling but Duncan just thought “I don’t care”.

3rd Person Dramatic

           Duncan was lying on his bed eyes closed and hands behind his head. Then suddenly his mother looking slightly irritated was yelling for him to come eat. With each passing time he face grew redder and he voice got louder. Duncan up in his room in the same position but looking slightly annoyed. Then the mom redder than ever before took heavy footsteps all the way up the stairs. Then she reached the door and with all her might she slammed the door open. Duncan still just lying there just with a content and relaxed look on his face did nothing.

The Helpful Lie of a Djinn

            In the short story The Djinn Who Lives Between Night and Day a djinn named Al-faq he lives between night and day between good and evil in other words that causes nobody to know whether he is good or evil. I believe Al-faq is a good djinn and he proves it by telling a lie. Al-faq’s lie helps many people first it helps a person that lost all hope and has no will to live by making false promises of his family returning to life, and he helps a village nearby the red sea with the gift of a holy man to believe in and worship. That is why Al-faq is a good djinn.

            The lie Al-faq says to the man gives him hope when he stopped eating and wanting to live when his family died. He was told by Al-faq to head to the sea to never speak again or go find his children or they will die. This hope he had received made him happy when he thought his family came back to life even if his life was almost over. Al-faq said “I will return them all to life if you will but keep faith with me” (Rogers 4). The man did believe his family would come back to life by just believing in the lie so he did have hope.

            Some people may say Al-faq did badly to the man when he lied to him. They believe it was rude and indigent for Al-faq to remove the man’s ability to speak and live his life. They believe making this man believe his family is back and happily living was wrong. The reason I disagree is that by removing the man’s ability to speech makes the man unable to ask if his family is alright, so he thinks there alive and won’t learn the truth about his family will keep him from the horrors of depression and despair. If he hadn’t changed the man’s life and beliefs with a lie he would have died of hunger the story said “The man who lived there was hallow-eyed and thin” (Rogers 4).

            Al-faq proves he is good by using the lie by telling the villagers to “At the nearest village the Djinn went from house to house and whispered in the ears of many sleepers There is a holy man beside the sea find him care for him” (Rogers 4). These people are suffering the plaque there families die there hope slips away so he gave them a reason to live a person to care for and worship to help them with their pains. Then by caring enough for the man he helped the lives of many others in the village by the red sea, and even if this village specifically did not have the plague many others did so food would be scarce and they live right next to a desert with harsh weather and lack of water.

This is why I believe by doing something bad like lying for a good thing proves Al-faq is a good Djinn. He helps a man that lost his only family do to a lie and a village that would be having a hard time in the time the story takes place

The theme of the Jinn that Lived Between Night and Day is that a lie can be used to help people if used right. Lies help if someone is depressed, or needs a glimmer of hope in their life, and to help some gain something to look forward to. Lies help people if used correctly like telling someone a lie to cause them stop doubting them self’s and belive there lives are not useless in the world. Lie is also helpful when telling a child Santa exist causes them to want to be good so they will get toys and also gives them something to get existed about.

A TV show I really like is Deadliest Warrior. It takes great warriors and their armies against other armies of their time that they never encountered.

They have weapon experts that recreate these weapons and armors use in the time they existed. These weapons consist long range medium range and lastly up close and personal. They do test for pressure whose weapons are most accurate and if they can penetrate the others armor. The use ascetics jell filled with blood bones and actual representation of arteries. They compile the data with various x factors such as physiological health, fatigue, and strategy. They run a sim of 5000 battles and whoever wins the most of the battles is the deadliest warrior.

The Deadliest Warrior show is currently in its ninth season. The ninth season is when they started doing 5000 battles instead of 1000. Then they also change it being 1 v 1 with the warriors to the leader and five soldier vs. the leader and five soldiers. Lastly they showed the last show of season nine vampires’ vs. zombies using 69 zombies for vampire.

  This great show caused me to like warriors and battles fought in the past. The show can really teach you a lot about the warriors and armies and their weapons in the past. That is why I think it is a great show.
