My experience at ITowne was awesome! I thought the place was very cool and that everything went very smoothly. I learned how to do money management by not spending all my money. I would have probably changed the break time because it seemed like a very short time to be on break. The best part for me was getting to be independent and spending my money the way I wanted to.

The world history influenced my life today because now I know everything about Ancient Egypt. My guiding question was why was King Tut’s Tomb one of the most famous Tombs in history? I learned that his tomb is so famous because of the riches inside and the great architectural build it had.

I learned many things from other students, for example I learned from Lauren how to make a Japanese Kimono. A really cool thing that I learned was how Egyptians made there pyramids by looking at Allie’s awesome pyramid made out of Carmel.

I think the format is first person. I think the big idea is that one person can change the whole community. I have liked the little girl because she is very sweet and a main character. I have not disliked any character. I thought they were very fun and a good relation to the book. My favorite was making seed bombs in 3d art because we had a sculpting competition and won candy!

Chicken Wing Dissection -- 04-02-12

We dissected chicken wings because we are learning about the ligaments, muscles, and tendons in a body, so we took a look at those things in the wing. I thought it was very weird but cool to see all the different parts of a chicken wing. I did think it was worthwhile because I learned a lot from the dissection. I learned that if you pull a certain muscle the whole wing will move.

My reaction to the movie was that it was very sad but moving. It was sad in the sense that the kids got bullied but moving because of the courage they had to go to Central High School. I would have chosen to to go to Central because I would want a better education for myself. I would not have the courage to continue because I would feel unsafe and scared at all times. I thought that the movie was very great because of the truth about what happened. I think things have changed a lot but we still have problems with discrimination. There are instances where people are discriminated based on the clothes they were or how their hair looks, discrimination doesn’t just come from your skin color.

I have been learning lots in science lately. A few things I know are the structure of a cell, three different types of cells, bacteria, plant, and animal cells. The best part is the comic strips and drawings we get to do in class. The worst part has been taking notes. We have learned many things but some things are photosynthesis and cells. The labs we have been doing are eggcpirement and Elodea plant. Microbiology is very fun to learn and imp glad I have the opportunity to learn it.

I’ve been reading a lot of books lately but the most recent book I am reading is Goal Line by Tiki and Ronde Barber. This book is really good. It is about two brothers who play football. The book talks about how the boys grew up and how they began to play football. This book is really interesting and I liked it a lot I highly recommend reading this book.

I tried out for the Mountain Ridge basketball team and I made it. We have been having a great season and have been undefeated. Sadly on February 1 we lost to Challenger Middle school by one point. We were all very sad but we are looking forward to beating Eagleview Middle school on Monday. I am glad our team has been doing so well.

A tool I think poets use to create a poem is creativity. I think they use creativity because that is how they think of ideas to make their poems by being creative. Another tool they use is rhythm. I think poets use rhythm because when the poet is writing they have to get into a flow that helps them think of what to write. The last tool I think poets use is emotion. In every poem there is some sort of emotion happy, sad, mad etc.

The quote I have chosen is "Believe you can and you're halfway there." Theodore Roosevelt. I think this means to never give up and to believe in yourself and to tell yourself you can do anything. I could apply this to my own life in school and sports because if I want to quit I will just tell myself I can do it. This could definitely be used to make someone’s attitude positive by telling them that they can do anything if they just belive and i think that is true. This could make an impact on the world because if the whole world believed in them everything can be achieved and we will vall work together and try hard to do anything. My first goal for 2012 is to get better grades. This goal involves change because I need to work harder to get the grades I want. Also, I will need to get my homework in on time and done correctly. I feel this project went really well and smoothly. Sometimes it was difficult working in a group this way because it got frustrating when people would not reply to your messages you sent them. Our communication was effective but what I would have done differently is to only have 2 people in the group because it would be easier to communicate. What went well was the progress of our wiki page the page came along really fast and looked great. I would do our video differently because the music was too loud. Some ways you and Mrs. G could improve this project is by giving kids more time and more through directions.

I think that blogging has been going great. I have never blogged before and that I have I love it! It has mostly gone smoothly although sometimes the computer has not cooperated when I blog. A good reason to always remember is to honor those who have died. It is important to remember them so they aren’t forgotten because without them we would not be who we are today. For example I always honor my grandmother that died on her birthday. I honor her because without her I would not be here.

My opinion on this article is that I think it is great that Hank Williams was not the only black man at the Kapor Capital investment firm. I think it is great that black people are coming out to these investment firms representing the African Americans.

I had wanted a dog for a very long time but my mom and dad did not want one. I had been begging my parents to get me a shorkie half shi Tzu and half yorkie. Finally they agreed to get me a shorkie. We had been planning to get her on Christmas but instead we got her on thanksgiving. I had decided to name her Chelsea and she is an amazing dog and I love her.

I feel like Banned Books week is a great thing to remind us about our first Amendment Rights. Freedom of speech falls into this because it tells us we have the right to say or write what we want to say. I do not think books should be banned because everyone can read what they want to read and don’t have to read a book if they don’t like it and that is my opinion.

My time at Fox Run Park. I think the best part of our field trip was when we did the team building activities. What I liked about those activities was how we got to work together to accomplish them and how much fun they were. The activity I enjoyed the most was the egg race contest because it was very exciting and took skill not to drop the egg. I learned that camouflage takes a big part in an animal’s need to survive. As You can see I had the time of my life.

This is a very funny video. Billy is actually doing the equation correctly 25% divided equally by 5 means each person should get 5%. Billy also does the equation correctly 5x5=25.

The way Pa does the equation is incorrect. Pa divides 25 by 5 but he gets 14 as the answer which is wrong. Pa says that 5 won’t go into 2 but it will go into 5 once. Pa then says 5-5 =0. He then says that since he didn’t use the 2 he brings it down and puts the 2 in front of the 0 to make 20. Pa then divides 20 / 5 which = 4. Pa then puts the 1 in front of the 4 and gets 14.

Ma also does the problem incorrectly. Ma says 5x14=25 which wrong. Ma first does 5x4=20 and then 5x1=5 she adds them together to get 25.
Billy tries to show Ma and Pa that 14+14+14+14+14 does not equal 25 but Pa does incorrectly to make it equal 25. Pa adds 4+4+4+4+4 to get 20 and then 1+1+1+1+1 to get five and then adds 20+5 to get 25.

Ma and Pa’s crazy math will also work with 4 and 36. If there are 36 brownies and they needed to be divided equally by 4 people each person will get 9 brownies. Using Pa’s and Ma’s math they would each get 18 brownies.

The funniest thing that has ever happened to me is when my family and I went camping. My brother my cousins and I were all playing the game 500 when my brother threw the football it went over a ditch hidden by weeds. I was so anxious to get the ball and running so fast I did not see the ditch. As I was running I tripped in the ditch and fell. All my family was laughing and as I was laying and the ground my cousin came and took the ball from me and gets the points.

I thought the presentation was very emotional but still very inspiring I love how Rachel was so nice and kind. Also I thought that the presentation was helpful to people that needed to learn how to start a chain reaction of kindness. I definiantly think the presentation was worthwhile because it really helped to open my eyes and make someone’s day every once in a while. I think our school did need that assembly to start another chain reaction of kindness and I think it was effective for example I was having a rough day and a friend said that I looked very pretty and that made my day! What I took away from the assembly was that Rachel was a nice caring person who changed people’s lives and I realized I can do that too with a simple act of kindness. I am defiantly going change my attitude and be more like Rachel and try to make someone feel good every day.
