International Towne was very fun! I thought it was interesting to see all the different countries and the jobs that each person had. I learned a lot but the main thing that I learned was how to exchange money. The only thing I would change would probably be the time of breaks. I would’ve liked them to be longer so we could see more and do more things in I-Towne. The best part was probably being able to "work" for a day and learn how to be responsible.

World History is important now days, because it shows us history and the past and how technology has improved. In the world history fair mu guiding question was "Why was Cleopatra's Life Important?" I learned that it was because if we didn’t know about Cleopatra then some of Egypt would still be a mystery. The most interesting part about learning about Cleopatra was the probably her love life. It was weird to me that she married her younger brother who was about 10 years younger than her.
When it was my turn to go and look at other peer's projects I saw so many interesting things. I saw one specifically that stood out to me which was Ancient China. The student made a temple made out of sticks and it looked amazing.

For the all school reads in reading "Seed Folks". The book is really good. I don’t really like the format. I thought it would’ve been better if the story focused on 4 or 5 characters instead of 10 or 15. The book is all about a community that plants a beautiful garden in a filthy place. I don’t have a favorite character. I happen to like all the characters because they are all taking part in helping the garden. The activities in the classes were fun. It gave me a chance to learn how to work as a community and make a garden. My favorite activity was probably in science class. It’s fun and exciting to learn weather seeds T or S will sprout first.

My topic is about Cleopatra. I’ve found out all about her person life which includes love, kids, and marriages. My final project is going along great. It’s going to help me find my research question by giving facts about why she’s important and what history would be without her. I’m kind of ready. I still need to work on my trifold and 3-d project.

Since it's the last quarter of seventh grade, Mrs. Lubich is letting write about anything, so I am going to write about summer. I am VERY excited for summer. I think it'll be the best summer yet. I’m excited because I’m going to be able to hang out with friends, be with my family, go on vacation, and PARTY!! I was planning on going to go to Arizona with my family to visit my friends, Mexico to visit family, and California with my friend to be able to hangout.
I feel like this summer is the best one yet to come!

The Ernest Green Story -- 03-29-12

The Ernest Green Story was a very good movie. I enjoyed it a lot! My reaction to the movie was strong. I was very upset by the fact that the white students treated the black students differently. I honestly don’t know what I would've done. I probably would have stood up for the black students and said something about them being bullied. I don’t think I would’ve had the courage to not have said anything. I would’ve fought back despite the consequences. I thought that Ernest was very strong and confident to "turn the other cheek" like his family members would tell him. Since then the racism has changed a lot. It’s not as strong but there are still people in the world that discriminate. There is discrimination everyday around the world weather it’s against blacks, whites, Mexicans, Asians, etc.

Science class these past couple of weeks has been very fun!! This year was the first year I have ever looked under a microscope. I’ve seen a lot of different shapes and sizes and all are very interesting. I’ve learned that many germs are very bad for you but some are good. The best part of this lab is being able to learn about all of the germs and being able to look at them. The past couple of weeks were really great!!

Witnesses to War -- 02-07-12

The book that I am currently reading is called Witnesses to War by Michael Leapman. This book has 6 to 7 different stories about victims that were in the holocaust and managed to escape. I really like this book because it has history in it and has a lot of detail and original pictures. The thing that I don’t like about this book is how a lot of children were involved. I hope to end up finishing this story in the next couple of days.

Chicken Wing Dissection -- 02-01-12

I got to dissect a chicken wing. My science teacher wanted us to see how the limbs attached and how the leg moved. I thought it was really fun, but at the same time gross. The chicken smelled bad and it was all slimy. I thought it was worth wild. The experience was fun. I learned how the limbs attached and moved the leg. I look forward to dissecting the frog!

Poems are really eye-catching. They can change the way people look at things and it could be for good or bad. Anybody can write a poem it’s really simple, but the best tool that professional writers use is the imagination. Writers also use Rhyme, Rhythm, Stanzas, Similes, Metaphors, and much more. All these are important because it helps you make a nice clean organized poem.

Love is better than hate if you ask me. Love can help change people’s thoughts about things like: war, fights, or arguments. Hate on the other hand is the opposite of love. Hate makes people want to start war; start fights, and start arguments. "Love is the only force capable of transforming an enemy into friend." Martin Luther King, Jr. King said this because when he had people who dis-liked him, he didn’t yell at them or try to start fights; instead he loved them by showing respect to them and having an open mind.

The project was fun. It was interesting and fun to be able to learn about our poets. The project went well. My group and I got everything accomplished and turned it in on time. The communication was ok. The thing I would probably have done differently was ask to Skype so we could talk together face to face and be working on the project at the same time. The project overall was fun. For next year I think everything should stay the same.

Greece is a very interesting place to learn about. It has so many interesting things to learn about. Ancient Greece had different groups of people and the most aggressive group out of all the groups was Sparta. Sparta believed that everything had to be about war. They would cheat to get their way. On the other hand the Athenians were the most peaceful group out of all the groups. They believed in peace and non-violet things.
In class we are doing activities that relate to ancient Greece. We have drawn pictures to symbolize our group and have come up with chants. I really like the activities because they are very fun. So far the class is going great!! :)

So this week we got to write about whatever we wanted to so I’m going to talk about school. School is fun and it gives me a chance to learn while having fun. A lot of us forget what we are thankful for and how lucky we are to have these things.
I am SO thankful to have incredible friends. They are like brothers and sisters to me. They show me the difference between what’s good or bad and always have my back. Another thing I am thankful for is to have a roof over my head. A lot of people don’t have a place to live and we take advantage of what we have. I thank my parents for working hard and giving my brother and me a place to live. I am always thankful for all the great teachers we have at our school that can stand us and can put up with us. :)

The best mystery that I’ve ever read was probably "The Shining" by Stephen King. King did a lot to make "The Shining" they best scary book that I’ve very read because he adds so much detail and is very descriptive that it creates a picture in your mind.

It was January 21, 1988. The Kim families had just bought a house and were very excited. The couple months that they've lived there were going pretty good, until one night one of the daughters disappeared.

The blogging has been fun! I’ve had a chance to read my pier's blogging as well. The first 2 week we were blogging, I had a hard time. I didn’t know how to check the teacher's comments or how to do anything! Friends and Mrs. Lubich have helped me. I honestly wouldn't like this to turn into writing assignments. I like it a lot better when we get to type it online. It’s easier to read our peer's blogging and more fun and entertaining! I can’t wait to see what else we have to write about! :D

“A veteran is a person who fell in love with their country- for better or for worse- for richer or for poorer- in sickness and in health.” To me this means how he or she will fight and will do anything for his or her country despite the consequences or what other people will say.
“A veteran is a person who is willing to lay down their life for the statue of liberty so that her poor, her huddled masses, her homeless, her tempest tossed may breathe free and may enjoy life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.” This means that the soldiers that are fighting for us are willing to give their lives up, so that the people who live in the US can enjoy life and not worry about the safety of their family or of themselves.
“A veteran is a person who does what he/she must- in spite of personal consequences- in spite of obstacles, dangers, and pressures- for that is the basis of all human morality.” This means to me that a veteran will go through pain, sweat, and tears just to show the love that they have for our country.
“A veteran is one who gets a lump in the throat when he/she sees our beloved flag. One who will fight to protect our beautiful flag from those who dare to dishonor it.” This means that a veteran loves America so much they are happy to live another day and to get another chance to see the flag again.
“A veteran is one who pays their taxes, willingly; serves their country, honorably; and cherishes their freedom, passionately.” This means to me that a veteran is a true American who loves America and enjoys every minute living in it.

The last thing I read was probably the story The Black Cat By: Edgar Allan Poe. This story was very weird but really good. Poe adds a lot of detail which makes it even more exciting. Currently I am reading Schooled by: Gordon Korman. I am not far enough into the book to give you a summery yet. I like this book because it is funny and very entertaining.

I thought that the field trip was really fun! I learned a lot. My favorite part was probablly when we got to play the "oh dear" game because we got a little excercise and we learned a lot about the food, shelter, and water cycle. The part were I learned a lot was when we got to go observe a place and I was lucky enough to get the mini waterfall place. I learned that just in a little area there is a lot of living organisms. It was also very beautiful.

I honestly think that that there is no need for Banned Books Week. I think that people who want to bann books shouldnt because maybe other people would want to to read the book. Freedom of speech falls everywere in this video beacuse people have the right to speak about their opinion about anything and books are included in the word everything. I think that we all have the right to chooses if we wanted to or not join or participate in the Banned Books week. I honestly dont think we need Banned Books week because wether or not the book is banned people are still going to read the book.

So to me the math thing was kind of confusing. I watched the math doughnuts one. The chef who was making the doughnuts and who was planning on giving the doughnuts to the policemen was counting and multiplying wrong. The man who was helping was doing the it the right way. I dont think the chef paid very well attention at school.

I thought that the Rachel's Challenge assembly was really touching. It shows how much we need to appreciate our lives and kill others with kindness. Rachel's Challenge, I think, is needed at MRMS because our school needs to know about Rachel and what she did for others whether they liked her or dis liked her. Everyone should follow her footsteps, show kindness, and standup to stop bullying.

The funniest thing that has ever happened to me was in 2001. I lived in Mexico at the time and my grandpa had just came to visit us. I was still sleeping and when I woke up my hair was all frizzy and it stood straight up! My mom even took a picture and added bright green glasses. After the picture I walked and hit my head on a glass window! Yup it was not fun.
