Some friends and I have formed a video-game development team, we call Team Cobalt. We've been having a lot of fun drawing up crazy concept art and trying to figure out what direction to take our game. Unfortunately, I cannot tell anyone outside the team about what's going to go into the game due to confidentiality, but it WILL be fun! If anyone is interested in participating in this project, speak to me via the blog or during passing.

International Towne, like Ameri Towne before it, was a very interesting experience. It was kind of interesting to see how everyone had to rely on each other for things to get done.There isn't really anything major I would change. The only thing I can think of is longer breaks. The best part was definitely going on break and going to all the other "countries", but my job was very fun too. I spent the majority of the time working the Slushee machines over in Mexico. Because they are so popular among us middle-schoolers the Shlushees were selling like, well... Like Slushees. In the end they all sold out, but by the time they did we were very, VERY rich. Note to self: If I ever start an expensive endeavor, make sure it's backed by a Slushee Company.

My world history project -- 04-22-12

After all my research, I've discovered some very interesting bits of information. For quick a quick example: You had to be born into the Samurai class.

With my research done, I need to get my display put together. I hate to admit it but I haven't started that part yet. But, with the hard part done it shouldn't be too bad. I've even been able to figure out the answer to my guiding question. You'll have to see it at the fair, though.

Dissecting Chicken Wings -- 04-15-12

In science class we dissected chicken wings to get a better idea what tendons are and what the muscle looks like when it's still on the bone. Unfortunately, I feel that the whole thing was kind of boring. I mean I've probably eaten at least 100 chicken wings in my life time, so there wasn't really anything I'd never seen before.
Something that puzzled me was why everyone else was so grossed out by it.

In science we've been doing all sorts of crazy science-y stuff and learning about cells. If you ask me there weren't really any "down sides" the whole unit was just awesome! We got to do a bunch of cool labs involving microscopes and I even saw a 100% real, Grade A, genuine amoeba. Also I learned about a cell's innards. At first I knew very little about them. Heck. For while I didn't even know about the organelles.

I hate to admit it, but I haven't done a whole lot of reading lately. The closest thing to a book I've read lately is The Hunting of the Snark, by Lewis Carroll. While it is in fact a poem its certainly long enough to classify as a short story. Its about a group of people who go out on a journey to fight a monster called The Snark

mean? Everyone you ask will probably wave a different answer. I personally think it means that through dedication and a great attitude, just about anything can be accomplished. I could probably apply it to life to remind myself to keep a positive attitude and convince someone to do the same. And if every one could take this quote to heart, I bet a lot more would get done.

I have yet to really set any goals for 2012. But, I would have to say keeping my grades up is among my top priorities for this year because, last quarter my grades suffered a little. Also another goal I have that doesn't exactly apply to school is to learn computer programming. I don't know exactly why, but it just seems like a good thing to know.

Anyway. Those are really the only goals I can think of at the moment. I'll probably come with some good ones later, though.

Wiki Reflection -- 12-16-11

I think that working on the Wiki was awesome. Recently I've really enjoyed Laguage Arts because, we've been doing a little less writing and a little more typing. I've also enjoyed learning to use blogs and wikis. Finally, I enjoyed the change of scenery. instead of working in the same classroom day after day, we got to got to the South Computer Lab. It may not be a terribly important but it was refreshing.

I'm looking forward to another great quarter of Language Arts!!!

I can't believe it's taken me this long to get around to some of my older blogs.
Anyway, there’s a good chance that you often forget just how lucky you are to live in a free country. Think of everyday things that you that you enjoy and never give a thought about, that some other people may not be able to do because they don’t have as many rights, and list them in the comments.

Unfortunately I don't know a lot about ancient Greece. Although, I do know that the Greeks were polytheists and believed that gods controlled everything.
In humanities, I have been able to learn more about Ancient Greece. I learned that Sparta was actually a part of Greece and that I didn't know before. Also I thought Greek cities were more connected. It turns out that they were actually city-states.

Mystery vs. Horror -- 12-05-11

There are several similarities and differences between horror stories and mysteries.
Mysteries and Horrors both create suspense, but Horrors draw on the emotional sense of fear to stay exciting and they also tend to include more supernatural occurrences such as monsters. Mysteries on the other hand draw on the infamous sense of curiosity to keep the reader interested and unlike horror stories, they’re often more logical and realistic.

I can think of many things I have to be thankful for: A good school, because I can learn important things to be used in the future; caring friends, because their always there and ready to help you when you’re in need; and freedom of speech for obvious reasons.

For the most part blogging goes smoothly for me.
I think I like this blogging thing because you can communicate with class-mates outside of school. I also like it because it's tought me a new way to communicate using the computer. occasionally I have problems using it. Other times I have a hard time getting to a computer. (My Mom doesn't surrender the computer without a fight) sometimes, as much as I hate to admit it, I forget. All in all, I think we should continue to blog.

Throughout the existence of the the human race, It's become rather apparent we have to work for freedom. Since there always seems to be someone interested in with holding the right to freedom, It makes securing it all the much more difficult.

I know it's a little on the short side, but I find it hard to keep an opening going.

Recently I've been reading Holes a book written by Louis Sachar. in this book a boy named Stanley Yelnats is sent to a juvenile detention facility for a crime he did not commit. He soon comes to realize that he's not digging to "build character" he's digging because the warden is looking for something. If you haven't read this book yet I highly suggest you do.

To ban or not to ban? -- 10-05-11

I say it shouldn't be legal to ban books. after all this country was created to allow freedom. However it probably would be a good idea to keep more... intense... books out of reach from younger kids. It might be a good idea to make it so have to go to a counter to get more adult books instead of just grabbing it off a shelf.

I Really enjoyed the Fox Run field trip. I always like field trips because we get to go out and do stuff instead of just sitting and listening. My favorite activity was the PVC piping challenge. I managed to concoct a way to get the ball to the goal incredible quickly. This won my team 6 goals. Also, when I was on this field trip I learned how to measure PH levels.

The funniest thing that ever happened to my was in a dream. That may not exactly count, but it's funny none the less. In the dream I was in an airplane flying to Japan. On the way there, My seat fell through the floor. I landed on an island where things were as crazy as crazy can possibly get. There was a demon possessed lawnmower, an apple tree that uproots itself and moves to another location on a daily basis, and turtles capable of running up to 135 miles per hour to name a few.

Last year I was unable to go to Rachel's because I was feeling a little under the weather. When I went this year, I found it to be very interesting. Especially the way every one who came within 10 feet of Rachel seem to have had good things happen to them. In my opinion, the presentation was proof that if everyone could just remember what they learned in kindergarten, everyone would get along so much better.
