What do kids say about sleep? Well, read this.

Imagine you're a kid on a Monday Morning. You are sleeping. A distressing noise is heard. It is your alarm clock. You wish you'd slept more the previous night. Wait... don't kids hate sleep? Actually, in a survey, 1,000+ kids were asked whether they wanted to have more sleep. 70% said they did! That's like 700 of them. So, kids do like sleep.

Reflecting on Touching Spirit Bear -- 03-21-12

When I first read 'Touching Spirit Bear', I thought it would be boring. But I decided to read it anyway (Like I had a choice). The characters were all unique and the author did a great job of bringing me into the story.

When the main character, Cole, nearly died, it felt like the whole story had flipped upside-down. The bully that Cole was known as saw the world in a different perspective, which was really important for the story, and taught us that anyone can change their ways.

I also learned a few things from the story, like life 'is what you make of it'(which taught me that you can look at things any way you want; good or bad), 'animals have something to teach us'(which tought me that you can learn something from any animal, like from taking care of a pet), and 'everything is part of a big circle'(which taught me that everything is connected in some way; even frogs and space dust).

All in all, Touching Spirit Bear was a book that I enjoyed a lot, and I think that it is a book which you can learn some pretty important lessons from.

When I first started to notice the world around me, I first began to feel the emotions, colours, and noises everywhere. Along with this consciousness came a greed. There came a greed for knowledge, power, things I couldn't even begin to explain. As I grew older, I yearned to relive the simpler life once more. I wanted to ignore the constant screaming of feelings and thoughts in my mind. I felt weary of this noisy lifestyle. Which is why I decided to go on a journey of sorts, trying to find some way for me to live peacefully. Someone in the earlier 21st century would've easily found peace in clear beaches and open wilderness, but I simply cannot go that path, as people nowadays live in stacked cities with little room to spare, and one would simply not find any peace and quiet since the Breaking. I will go now, as I have more matters at hand to attend to.

I Made A Film! -- 02-09-12

On Monday, February 6, 2012, I achieved an impressive thing only millions can dream of. I made a movie! Granted, it was less than a minute long, but still, a MOVIE!!! It was a stop-motion animation film involving a Slime (Minecraft anyone?), an alligator, and a guy in a bush. It was really fun to make, and even funnnier to watch. The production had its ups and downs, like us having to redo the audio eight (or more) times to get it right. Overall, it was a great learning experience and I hope to make more films in the future.

Cole And The Fur -- 01-31-12

Cole Matthews is the main character in Touching Spirit Bear. He's in two of my older articles, so I advise you scroll down. When he fought a spirit bear and nearly died, he pulled a clump of fur off of it. Later, when he was at the hospital, recovering from his injuries, he told his story to Garvey(his parole officer) and Edwin(a Tlingit elder), they didn't believe he fought a spirit bear. But he had its fur to prove it. When he went out of the hospital, he threw the clump of fur into a river and watched it float downstream, saying that he didn't need any proof, and that his proof were his words.

Why did he get rid of it? Ithink he got rid of it because he didn't need to prove anything anymore.

Loss is that knot in your gut after a pet dies.

Loss is the emptiness in your heart when yor grampa passes away.

Recently, after Cole was mauled by a spirit bear and nearly died:

Page 68

Cole stared down at his chest. The bear's claws had raked him open. His shredded shirt exposed gashes with long strips of flesh missing.

Cole seem far from okay. In fact, he's almost dead. But he says he's fine, later in page 102:

Page 102

"He's been attacked by a bear." Cole nodded. Fear flashed in Garvey's eyes. "I'm okay," Cole succeeded in grunting weakly. A thin smile failed ti hide Garvey's concern. :Half your bones are busted, your body is swollen like one big mosquito bite, and you're nearly starved to death. Believe me Champ, you're not okay.: Cole forced a nod. "I am okay," he grunted again.

Why? Is Cole okay? He says yes but his injuries say no.

I think why he said he was okay was because he saw beauty in his life earlier. He saw how beautiful the world really was.

And that's why I think he says he is okay.

When your bucket is full, you're pretty happy. When it's pretty empty, you're rather upset. Cole Matthews, a troubled teen in a book called Touching Spirit Bear, had a usually empty bucket. He was a really lonely guy, and he had no friends. And how did he try to solve his problem? He bullied and robbed.

He had a need for fun. He fulfilled that need by teasing kids, wrecking things, and stealing. He also had a need for power, and he fulfilled that by making people fear him (and by threatening a spirit bear, only to get mauled by it) He had a need for belonging, and he fulfilled that by bullying others and making other people laugh at the person getting teased. And finally, he had a need for freedom, fulfilled by trying to escape the island he was banished to in the story.

So it seems pretty obvious othat Cole is a bully, right? Well yes, but after he gets mauled by that spirit bear mentioned earlier, he nearly dies and goes through a journey of self-realization.

The first step to success is to know what you’re doing. Nobody gets up and starts fogging without even knowing what it is.The second step is when you don’t plan ahead, things get much harder. Terry Fox know what that was like. He didn’t expect an empty reception hall, a Quebec policeman threatening to arrest him, and he especially did not expect to have cancer and to have his leg amputated . When that happens, though, you get up and keep going.

I learned quite a bit about success and Terry Fox by watching a movie about him. In fact, that’s how I even know about him. So, later on, if you want to be successful at something, think about how Terry Fox and his Marathon of Hope were successful at raising more than a million dollars.

Carrots For Mr. Cuddles PART 3 -- 03-09-11

For those of you who have not read the previous 2 parts of this 5- part tale, I advice you to do so. And if you have, well, the wait is over.

Mr. Cuddles needed to complete his goal, half done already. All he needed to do now was to take over the planet he called 'E-art'. E-art, as Mr. Cuddles wrote in his diary, was a dangerous planet. He had already been chased by cats, treated as a toy, and well, you wouldn't want to know. 3 Years later, he had taken over E-art. E-art was under his control. His species came, and they congratulated him with an AWESOME prize: A walnut-atomic bomb-donut maker-back scratcher.

But the butler, he had different plans.

The Young People's Concerts -- 02-27-11

Young People's Concerts are concerts that my school has on occasion. We have had 4 of them in th school year.

The first one focused on African traditions, including a few stories.

The second concert focused on ballet, that's right, and showed us the average practice session of a ballet dancer.

The penultimate concert was actually done all by one person and she did a post-World-War 2 soldier reunion and the developing relationship between a little girl and a retired veteran.

The final YPC concert was the most musical, as a vancouverite band played for us, and surprisingly, they made use of violins and a complex electronic system in place of normal instruments.

That is all as I have nothing more to say.

Ache Brasil. It's a dance group consisting of many brazilians. They performed at our school a short while back,and I was impressed by their dancing style, and their unique music. They taught us a bit about an African king called Ganga Zumba, who was an escaped slave in Brazil. They also have a website called www.achebrasil.com, which tells more about the performance group. I lived in Singapore before immigrating to Canada. So I'll tell you some things about the tropical country.

Usually, in markets, youcan almost expect smelly durians (they look like green spiky balls) to be present. I also realized a long time ago that malls=non-angry mobs of shoppers. I used to study at Saint Joseph's Instituition Junior. I had to wake up at 5:30 in the morning to catch the scool bus, which came at 6:30. Yes.

In Singapore, there are only 2 seasons. Hot and hotter.Which meant air conditioning a wonderful cure.

Gold. Shiny. Also starship fuel. At least for Mr Cuddle's race. So, having bought and collected truckloads of the shiny material, he sent ALL of it to other members of his race(The Fluffiyites.)

But he had a secret plan no-bunny knew about; RULING THE GALAXY!!!!!!!!! His butler heard him say that and ordered 6 government agencies to gaurd and watch Mr Cuddles. Mr Cuddles freaked out at the fact that most of these government agencies were so secret only the person who ran them knew the name of the agency.

Carrots For Mr. Cuddles Part 1 -- 12-21-10

Here's a story I came up with. Enjoy!...Or not.

Once upon a time machine, an evil alien genius bunny cyborg whose name was Mr. Cuddles had a mission to collect EVERY carrot in the galaxy. So he set off on his journey to find carrots of all kind, mutant, alien, or just purple.

But he needed green paper and lots of gold, glorious gold. Yes, he needed money. Why? I have no idea. Probably because there's a gold shortage (which happens to be their starship fuel), and he has only enough for a one-way trip.

20 years later, he is now a super-celebrity due to him being a talking rabbit (He's also a trillionare now). So now he can explore the galaxy to complete the mission. He's already collected these carrots:

The Singapore Flyer is the world's tallest Ferris Wheel, and apperantly, butler service is available!!

Top 5 tallest Ferris Wheels are:

Tempozan Ferris Wheel-112.5 meters

As you can see, The Singapore Flyer is the tallest FerrisWheel in the world(Courtesy of Wikipedia). Although I have not been on it, I still wish I could. Eachof the 28 capsules can hold 28 passengers, and some people STILL believe that the London Eye is the tallest. So now they know!

I just got this idea from Sukhmeen's blog. What if I had a time machine? Well, a few things. Here's some:

If I could only go backward, I'd choose the 1980s, because that's the prime time of the NES

If I could only go forward, I'd choose the beginning of the 22nd century, because technology is advanced and primitive enough for me.

If I could only go backward for 10 minutes, I'd choose World War II, to find Adolf Hitler at the time of his death to unravel the mystery of it's reason.

If I could only go forward for 10 minutes, I'd choose 2015, to check out the Wii's successor, and the Xbox 720.

If I realized that the universe would explode in 20 minutes, I'd swipe a Game Boy Micro.

Three Cups of Tea is a book that I like. It is a biography-style kind of book that tells about a man named Greg who built more than 60 schools around Pakistan and Afghanistan. Even though I don't usually read novels, I just want to read this book over and over.

My Reflection on a movie called 'Terry' -- 10-15-10

I think that the characters were amazing people and though the real Terry Fox is dead already, the actor who played him did a great job.

The movie itself was sad, emotional and probably a great inspiration. M y favourite part was all the interviews, as it gave us a chance to see what the actual people looked like today.

I also think that it was a good idea to put those original photos way at the end.
