Another Year Gone By -- 04-21-10

     Well Mr.Meyer, it has almost ben another school year gone by. I can't even believe that I am in 6th grade, when I am almost ending it. I still remember that right now exactly a year ago we were down to the final 5 probably of survivor, and we were pretty much getting ready to wrap up our chapters in all the school subjects! We were also in Tech Workshop which I think was one of the most fun experiences in my entire life. That though, is just SOME of the highlights from last year!

     This year, WO, this year, ya, it is much different than last year. None of the people in the whole Middle School Building know technology like the Meyer Islanders 08-09 do! I remember when our science teacher asked our PACK class if anybody knew how to use NUMBERS or PAGES. Of course, all of the former Meyer Islanders raised their hands, and she was not surprised, because we pretty much knew everything about technology because you taught us. I remember doing a simple KEYNOTE project about the Winter Olympics. THE WINTER OLYMPICS! Can you believe it? Out of all topics to do this huge presentation on, they chose the Winter Olympics! Nothing school related at all, NOPE! Just the Winter Olympics. I really don't get how our teachers think, I mean seriously, think about it. So again, nobody knew how to use KEYNOTE except us awesome Meyer Islanders. Not even the teacher knew how to use it. Actually, it was pretty embarrassing for her because half the time we would have to go up to her computer and help her with it! Us six graders helping this women with technology, WOW!

     My last topic is ALL OF THIS HARD WORK! I mean common, I hardly ever have homework. I am serious because i am sure I only get homework approximetley once a month. Hardly anything is new. Science is because it is an actual class this year with homework and a real grade. Social Studies is just about land like Canada and the United States. She actually didn't expect us to know where like the Rocky Mountains were! How stupid does she think we are! Gosh, they are harsh. Math is ALL REVIEW because i asked my brother what he was learning (he is in 4th grade remember) and he said fractions, and he showed me his worksheet. IT WAS EXACTLY WHAT WE WERE DOING IN 6TH GRADE! Dude these teachers think we are dead as posts! English, well let's just say that there is some third grade stuff!

     Well, this chat has now come to a conclusion! You don't know how much all of us miss you! We think about your class every day, and all of our conversations some how bring up you and your class. Trust me, we would do anything to have you for teacher just for one of our hours! I hope your class is doing OK and that you don't have to countdown until school ends! (Trust me! I am! From April 21, 2010, only 33 days left! Ok, well I can't wait to see you again! SEEYA! :)

I Miss It! -- 12-04-09

I can't believe how much I miss your class Mr.Meyer! Right now I am thinking back to the last day of school when we went to the pit and I almost started crying when you left! I got teary eyed in that last good, better, best! Sixth grade is so easy I think the only time I have homework is getting things signed. You definately have made me such a better student but also a better person. By half way through the year I didn't care that much about survivor and I just liked the part with the computers and everything else! All the things I learned about technology in your class has made me able to do different projects. When we tell the teachers if we can do something a little more challenging for us, they tell us to do the easy stuff and stay at everyone else's pase! I really miss your class because sixth grade is so boring! When you get done with your work so early, there is nothing to do but read a book! But I'm already done with all my book reports!!!!!!!!

Year In Review Essay -- 06-01-09

andnbsp;andnbsp; The first thing I want to say is it was a andnbsp;lot of work. We had lot's of work but it was worth it because the person I am right now is the best I am in my life. Mr.Meyer pushed us very hard and I am glad because he made me a better student, and got me ready for sixth grade.andnbsp;

andnbsp;andnbsp; I remember he big ball challenge with ALL of our class mates. It was fun because it was our second challenge, and it meant to work together. We had to earn the challenge. Another thing we had to earn was andnbsp;our andquot;woeandquot; for our good, better, best chant. It was hard work to keep ourselves quiet and working.andnbsp;

andnbsp;andnbsp; My favorite challenge was the challenge when I was voted off. It was my favorite because I had in mind the people who would get votes and I knew I was one. I had to work really hard to get immunity because I knew if I didn't, I was gone. It ended up, we were in the championship. I was sad I was voted off because I thought I could win, I also didn't have any stress on me because of survivor. I was mostly on work. I was also a good thing because then I could focus on work.

andnbsp;andnbsp; My favorite thing to do in Mr.Meyer's class is to say, andquot;Look at ho much work I did this weekandquot;! There will be this huge pile of papers at the end of the quarter. I also like how much fun it was. Making movies, survivor, working hard, and having a good time. The hardest part of Mr.Meyer's class hasn't happened yet. I think it will be leaving this class to go to the sixth grade teachers.

andnbsp;andnbsp; Although, some parts were hard when you were voted off, but you would get over it and then you can cheer on your friends. When you get to participate in challenges when you are a pirate for the first time, you start walking with your old tribe, when you know that you are already gone. Even though in your last tribal council you beg to stay in, your gone. To know though, that survivor is like rolling dice, it's all about luck, so you get over it after a while.andnbsp;

andnbsp;andnbsp; You always have fun watching challenges, and watching the voting when you are a pirate, but, of course, it's not all about survivor. Another thing I had fun with was making movies. We will have tec-workshop every Wednesday after school and make movies. I was a villain in a movie and it was so much fun. I was a cheer leader in another video. It was really fun making movies and, of course, hanging out with friends.

andnbsp;andnbsp; We had an opportunity to visit Detroit to interview people at a Macul conference. It was fun because we were in Detriot and only about eight people in our class got to go, and my mom was there so I got to spend time with her. My friends were there and we would laugh, learn, and have fun! It was a great opportunity to go!

andnbsp;andnbsp; All together, fifth grade has made me a great student, and a better person. Having fun all year and getting pushed really hard. So far, last 2008 has been the bet year ever, but now, I think that 2009 is beating it. I've had so much fun and great times. 5th grade was awesome! andnbsp; andnbsp; andnbsp; andnbsp;andnbsp;

andnbsp;andnbsp; andnbsp;andnbsp;

Yesterday night,the Detroit Red Wings won against the Black hawks, 2-1. This happened in Detroit. The red Wings now have a chance to win the Stanley cup against Pittsburgh, best of 7 games. Darren Helm scored the winning goal in overtime leading Detroit over Chicago. Now the Red Wings will be able to have their rematch against Pittsburgh. I think that they will win because even if they don't, they made it this far.
Animal Farm and Diary of Ann Frank Essay -- 05-06-09

    I have just seen the play, “My heart in a suit case,” which is based on the book, Diary of Ann Frank and, I had read the book, Animal Farm earlier this year. Both of these stories touched me and I made a few similarities with the book and the play.

   The Jews, were like the regular animals on animal farm. The others, that aren’t Jews, were like the pigs. When Boxer was taken away, to the glue factory, and his friends were telling him he was going to die, it was like when the Jews were trying to help other Jews try to escape. Ann’s dad, had to do things for his country, but he never got rights. The regular animals had to do things for their farm, but they never got their rights.

   The Jews were treated as blacks, as the blacks were treated back then. They had no rights because they were different then everyone else, even though they were the same too, which was a good thing. In animal farm, many animals had feelings that they were working for the pigs, but for nothing in return.

   The animals would work their butts off, while the pigs were watching television! It was just like when the Nazis were taking over the Jews. Some of them even fought in the war for their country. Like when the animals fought in the Cowshed to get Jones out of their for THEIR country. When they got injured, and still lived in that country, they didn’t get the same rights as others, that lived in that country. Although, Some animals made it off the farm before the pigs destroyed it. It was like when some children were allowed out of Germany on trains to England, but some children had to stay, and all the parents had to stay. Everyone who was still in Germany were in danger, just like the animals who were in danger from Napoleon.

   The Jews were scared, and they felt used. The same with the animals on animal farm. They were scared that Jones was going to come back, but also if Napoleon and the pigs were going to take over.

   The Jews were treated badly. They did nothing wrong except use their rights and advantages for the good. They were put into gas chambers, to die, just because they were Jews. They treated them as if they were not even there. They were treated like they were invisible. They are still human, and people just like us. Everyone around us right now should be treated fairly and not like they are a servant or a slave. I hope, and I hope everyone else hopes, that no one in this whole planet will ever be treated unfairly, or killed for no reason, not having the same rights as everyone else, being separated from their families, and loosing their hope to ever live, ever again.

There is also the federal system. The states and the Central Government share powers. An example for checks and balances is, the congress can pass a law, but the president can put a veto, which means to not approve.
Both Arthur Agie and William Gates had dreams. As a matter of fact, they each had a dream to be in the NBA.andnbsp;

I will tell you a little about William. When it was time to go to high school, William's dunks caught eyes. Two people wanted to give him a full scholarship to Saint Joe's High School. When he was a freshman there, he played for the varsity team. His brother, Curtis, was excited for him. His brother said that he needed to liv his dream through William. William's dad left the house when William was young, but he still gets to see him every once in awhile. William wanted to show how good he was in basketball. His dream could come true.

Now I will tell you a little about Arthur. Arthur's family is very poor. Arthur's dad thinks that Arthur's dream will come true no matter what, but his mom thinks he needs to get going with school. Someone gave Arthur a half part scholarship to Saint Joe's high school. Now William and Arthur went to the same school. As the year went on though, Arthur couldn't pay the other half of the cost. He now owed over a thousand dollars to Saint Joe's. He now went to the public school, Marshall. There he met someone named Shannon. He was his friend now. Arthur's idol was Isaiah Thomas from the Pistons. He used to go to Saint Joe's. Now, Arthur was a freshman andnbsp;starter for Marshall. Arthur's family is so poor now, that they don't even have electricity. It's not going so well for Arthur. andnbsp; andnbsp; andnbsp; andnbsp; andnbsp; andnbsp; andnbsp; andnbsp; andnbsp; andnbsp; andnbsp; andnbsp; andnbsp; andnbsp; andnbsp; andnbsp; andnbsp; andnbsp;andnbsp;

After a while, Arthur's dad left the family and broke up with Arthur's mom. He went out and started doing drugs. He soon was arrested. Arthur also made some bad choices. He accepted money from drug dealers and got bad grades. His mother was very scared because there were a lot of gangs and bad people where they lived. She didn't let Arthur go out and play basketball on the hoop that much because she thought it was too dangerous. After some more time, Arthur's dad came back. They went to church. Arthur still didn't trust him. When he was a senior, he made the winning shot in a game and got to see his old team mates play when he was eighteen. Colleges started sending letters, but Arthur needed better grades. Arthur's dad has to live his dream through Arthur. His team finishes third in state. He wants to go to college in Missouri. So he does, but his parents split up again. Then there was some hard times Arthur went through. He was robbed, he was almost shot, needed to pass summer school, and his friend Shannon [not friend anymore] got into drugs and went to jail. Also good things. He passed summer school. When he was in college, he had a C average, became a father, but never made it into the NBA.andnbsp;

William later on hurt his nee. He couldn't help his team at Saint Joe's. When he was a junior, he was a dad. He had to have two surgeries on his nee. As a senior, Marquette wants William, even if his nee hurts. William's new dream was to take his team to state, but they never did. He was always good with his grades until he couldn't play basketball anymore, that was when they dropped. He didn't get a high enough grade on the A.C.T., but the second time he did. He was going to Marquette. William won MVP of his team. When he was in college, he dropped out of school, but then came back. He had a B average and got married. Never made it to the NBA.

andnbsp;andnbsp; I think William's dream came true more because he got good grades and tried his best. He went to a good college. Even though he didn't make it to the NBA, he still was a basketball ALL STAR to many people. andnbsp; andnbsp;

andnbsp;andnbsp; andnbsp; andnbsp; andnbsp;

andnbsp;

andnbsp;andnbsp; I was sitting at my desk listening to Mr.Meyer talk about boring math. I was so bored I thought I could fall asleep. I told my friend, Molly, to wake me up when we were done with math. I laid my head down on my math book. I started thinking about my feature. Then, SNAP! I was asleep. I dreamed about myself, in college. I attended Central Michigan so that I could learn how to become an elementary school teacher. I got to visit a school to see what it was like. After that day, I decided that I would switch colleges and attend Michigan State University or M.S.U. I will start next year. I wanted to become a veterinarian. After I got my degree, a women named Selena Bumen called to offer me a job to be a vetandrsquo;s assistant. If I did really good, then I would become an actual vet. It was a hard choice to make because I lived in Michigan and the office was all the way across the country in Seattle, Washington. I decided to take the offer. I wasnandrsquo;t going to fly their though. I was going to drive my Tan colored Saturn Outlook so that I can save a couple bucks, and the luggage stuff! That is hard work. I guess it was good that I switched colleges because M.S.U. gave me a scholarship to play basketball there. When I was a senior, my old high school friend, Sally, were both starters for M.S.U I was the point guard, while she was a wing. When I got to Seattle, I got to move into a condo, with my cousin, Amy, who was fifteen years older that me. We lived along the west coast where we could see far, far, far out in the ocean, dolphins. Every day we would go snorkeling. It was like my hobby. We saw coral, star fish, crazy fish, and squid. It was like a desert out west so there were lotandrsquo;s of cacti. andldquo;Donandrsquo;t touch them! It will hurt!andrdquo; said Amy. Every April, my family; two twin boys and my husband, will go on a vacation. This year we went to Niagara Falls. The twins, Cameron and Matthew, were already twelve years old. We went to Disney World three times when they were in elementary school. My sons loved basketball so I get to give them some pointers on their skills. When I started getting payed more, we moved into a house, in a neighborhood. andldquo;Come on! Math Is over!andrdquo; Molly said. I woke up and started listening to Mr.Meyer again. andnbsp;andnbsp;andnbsp;

I canandrsquo;t wait to do that again!

Dear Diary,
A year ago Patrik Henry told us that if you pay the taxes of the stamp act then you are an enemy. The Stamp Act is a tax that makes you pay on almost everything that is printed. Now there is the Townshend Acts to worry about. I protest and my family talks about liberty. Hopfully us colonists will get some. Today we decided that we would make a list to boycott the goods of the British. We are always ready to rebel. I do not like the British one bit. They are taking control of us and making us pay taxes for a war that the land they won for us [and making us pay for it] they won't even let us go on it! It is like buying land but not being able to go on it.I hope that we will soon become free from the British and not have to pay these unnecessary taxes!
I was first put inside this wet thing. White boulders came crashing down on me. Saliva rushed in and it felt like a pull n there. I was soaking with saliva. It was horrible. I was munched into little, tiny pieces. The tongue was making me go everywhere. I have an enemy now. Next up, the esophagus! I was pushed down into the stomach. The esophagus was pulling me down. Acids were burning me in the stomach. It stunk in there. Next was the small intestine. The small intestine carried me to the large intestine. It took forever. It was like the lame roller coaster at the carnival I was bought at. When I was traveling through the small intestine, these juices came out of no where. I knew where they came from though. andldquo;Curse the gallbladder, pancreas, and the liver!andrdquo; I screamed. The large intestine is next. The liquid in me was coming out. I yelled for help! I knew I was going to die! andldquo;Flooooooop! Tooot! Plup! That wasnandrsquo;t me!andrdquo; I said and heard. Next up, the anus. I didnandrsquo;t no what the anus was, but now I do. Two young teenagers made a Doritos commercial that became a winning commercial. It was about a guy who threw a snow globe that was like his glass ball and he thought that all the people in his office would get free Doritos. He threw it at the machine holding the Doritos. Super Bowl Commercials are always very good. Now they have fame and fortune and could change the way of the Super Bowl Commercials. People make and show these commercials because it is a good way to sell their products. They try to make an entertaining way so that it will catch your eye. They also do it because many people watch the Super Bowl.
July 17, 1753
Dear Diary,
I really shouldn’t be writing this because I am a slave, but it is secret. My owner says that he will never set me free. I can’t wait to go visit my son, Andrew, next month. My owner watches me while I visit him. I have to travel 37 miles to see him. I help grow the crops here in the the middle colonies. My owner is not going to set me free, but he is going give me to his friend in the south. I am going to become a servant. I will work side by side with my new owner. I’m not to crazy about getting a new owner. My new owner may let me free though, I still have hope. I can’t wait to see what a plantation looks like. I don’t really want to farm though. I don’t even want to grow crops. Also, because of the slave code, I can’t practice my religion, learn to read, get engaged/get married, or own my own property. I really don’t want to have an overseer either. An overseer is really like the boss of the plantation. He tells us slaves where to work and what to do. He usually is the one who punishes us. I really want to be freed from being a slave. I don’t want to work at a plantation!

Once there was a super hero named Golf Dude. Golf Dude loved to whack people with golf clubs. Of course, he would only do that if they were a super villein. Golf Dude’s worst enemy was King Checkers. King Checker’s always tried to be Golf Dude at checkers, but now he doesn’t have to. Golf Dude always loses to King Checkers at checkers. King Checkers also always beats Golf Dude at golf. That is why Golf dude chose a different enemy. “Get out here Golf Dude!” said Golf Dude’s new worst enemy, Jelly Doughnut. POW! Jelly Doughnut broke through the door and and tried to grab Golf Dude with his Jelly Powers. “Not this time!” said Golf Dude. Golf Dude thought quickly and used his golf ball fire powers. The fiery golf ball stopped the jelly. Then, Golf Dude his 18th hole force field. “I got you now!” said Jelly Doughnut. “By! By!” said Golf Dude. Golf Dude sprang into action as he took out his golf club. “Asta laviesta Jellay Doughnut!” said Golf Dude. “Ha! Ha! Ha ha ha! Yoooouuu looooossst! Do do do do do! La la la la la! Ha! Ha! Ha ha ha!” said Golf Dude in a singing kind of voice. “Mwa ha ha ha!” said King Checkers in a dark cape. “We meet again.” King Checkers didn’t have a checker playing board, instead, he was ready to battle. All of a sudden, Golf Dude heard an army marching in. Than the sound stopped. The sound really was of 0f foot steps of a kunfoo master.

July 23, 1743
Dear Diary,
Today was a hard day fishing. I started fishing last year and my buddy works at the docks to load the fish in the boats that go to Europe. We export fish, ships, and wood products to England. But I heard that they are selling them for more money than they bought them from us. Today we exported ships. Tomorrow we are exporting a big load of lumber and fish. We just got ships so that we can sell the products to Europe. In the triangular trade we are trading rum, iron goods, and guns and send them to Africa. I do it in Boston. After that, enslaved Africans are sent to the West Indies and then they send molasses to us. I think they call it the middle passage when they send the enslaved Africans. I don’t agree on sending slaves. I have religious freedom, so I don’t like the idea. I got a big catch today. I wish I could keep it for my family, but we have to sell it. Even though we live on agriculture, I wish we could have fish.

The Monday Murder -- 01-15-09

“What ever it is, it’s not suicide.” said Harry, the thirty seven year old detective. Monday morning there was a murder at Pete’s Pizza Parlor. Harry wanted to go and investigate the crime scene. As he walked in to the humid, back room, he saw the manager of the store. “Nice to see you Harry. I called Katie’s parents. They should be arriving soon.” There lay the girl’s body on a booth close to the store door. Three waiters were there by the table. A knife stuck in her back. Down her shirt was dark red blood. No food or drinks were on the the table. “How do you know Katie’s parent’s phone number?” Harry asked the manager, Pete. “Sally told me it. She is that waitress.” replied Pete. He pointed at the the lady. “How do you know the phone number Sally?” said Harry suspicious. “I was good friends with her parents. The number is still in my phone book.” said Sally. “What do you mean by ‘was’” said Harry. “Well one night we got in a big fight. We don’t talk anymore. We keep the secret away from Katie, she wasn’t there.” said Sally. “Who served Katie this morning?” said Harry. “I did.” said another waitress quietly. “That’s Tina.” said Pete. “Tina,” said Harry. “Was there any one else here while you were serving her?” “Just me and Sally!” said Tina. “ Where is our baby?” said Katie’s mother, running strait through the back door, looking for Katie. “The murder is in here!” said Sally. “Sally? Sally! You murdered our Katie! I know you did!” said Katie’s mom. Katie’s mother ran toward the booth. “I think I know who committed this crime.” said Pete. “ Tina!” “No, no, no! Wait a second! I don’t even know who committed the crime.” said Harry. “We will need to have this knife checked for finger prints!” said Katie’s mother, holding the knife. “Well now we can’t,” said Sally. “You touched it. If you want to go to jail because you murdered your own daughter, then we will check for finger prints.” said Pete. “Oh, sorry,” said Katie’s mother. “Well we just lost a big piece of evidence, but we just found another one.” said Harry. Answer: Katie’s mother murdered Katie. On Tina’s brake, she must of allowed Sally to leave too, allowing Katie’s mother to enter the store. The mother accused another person, [Sally] of the crime. She also ran in through the back door, where Katie was located. She knew where Katie was murdered. When she touched the knife, she knew she didn’t use gloves, so she touched it so people would think that the murderer used gloves and she accidently touched it. The fact is is that Katie’s mother was the murderer.

Snow Day -- 12-04-08

I was walking, into my mother’s bedroom. “Why weren’t you waking us up at 6:00 for school?” I asked her worried. “It’s a snow day now go back to sleep! ”she replied. “It snowed! I’ll be outside!” “Dress warmly!” said my mom. “I know!” I replied. I ran down the stairs as fast as I could, trying not to brake my leg. I grabbed myself a snack bar and grabbed my coat than headed out the door. As I walked out the door I wondered who’s house I could go to. I mean, I don’t want to invite myself over. “Wait” I said to myself. “My neighbor invited me over to her house to sled with her and more neighbors yesterday!” So I kept on walking down the driveway until I reached the road. Then I turned to go to her house. As I walked I wondered how steep and high her hills our. I never thought about that. What if they were to steep. “Then I will just go home!” After my thinking I realized I was at her house. So I sped up a bit. As I walked into the snow to get to the hills it was much harder to walk. I also realized that I would have to walk up very high hills with snow this deep. I used all my strength to reach the hills and I finally achieved my goal. Soon, I saw my friends. I yelled to them and then ran to them. As I reached them I saw that the hill they were sledding down was steep and high. “Go down it, I dare you!” said a boy, down our street.” Go!” I picked up the sled and got myself situated. Then I told myself,”You can do it!” “Do it! Do it!” everyone chanted. I pushed myself off the small cliff area and I was heading down the hill at full speed. I screamed but I was having so much fun! I grasped the sled so tight, not even the strongest man could rip my hands off the sled. I looked up and what I saw was so beautiful. The snow was as white as the milk in my cereal bowl at breakfast. The snow was gleaming on it, it looked so pretty. The best thing was, that was the most fantastic snow day ever!

As the bell rang everyone was talking, trying to think of someone who will help them with this mystery. Then Lola, a very popular and friendly student, spoke up and said, andldquo;We can all meet at the Middle School and walk around town and talk about it!andrdquo; andldquo;Okay!andrdquo; came many voices. After school at the Middle School only Lauren,Tom, Lola, Ian, Helon, andandnbsp;Sue showed up. andldquo;Were is everybody?andrdquo; questioned Tom. andldquo;I know!andrdquo;andnbsp;Helon answered. andldquo;Everyone is stuck at home until they get homework done!andrdquo; Interrupted Sue, another student who showed up. andldquo;What are we going to do?andrdquo; andldquo;Weandrsquo;ll make a plan.andrdquo; saidandnbsp;Tom and Cory. andldquo;But wait!andrdquo; said Lauren, andldquo;Everyone got done with their homework today! Also, today there was nothing hard in any subject!andrdquo; Everyone just sat there quietly. The only thing that made noise was the clicking of teeth and the frosty wind. How were hey going to solve this? It was tough. Most of all, they were just kids, so they couldnandrsquo;t investigate around the class room during or after school. All of a sudden a roar was hear followed by a cry for help.andnbsp;Lauren turned around and saw the giant animal cracker holding her twin sister, Stacey. andldquo;Iandrsquo;ll get you you beast!andrdquo; saidandnbsp;Cory and Tom.
   Hanna turned around and saw a three foot fang right in front of her. When she reached her hand up to cover her mouth so she could scream, her thumb was gone. When the animal beast bit her finger the powerful fangs must have chopt her finger right off, but when did it happen? She never felt anything but a little pinch, and suddenly, the animal shrunck. Right in front of her. It just vanished. It was alive looking like it was going to eat her, then just in less in a snap it was gone. This was a mystery, and she had to solve it. The whole class just sat there, mouths wide open. How were they going to explain this? Nobdy would believe them. Mostly because they were only children, but you don’t see live animal crackers chopping little girls thumbs off with three foot fangs everyday!
“Why are all you chidren out of your chairs and not at your desk?” said Mrs.Kallik, their 5th grade teacher. “The animal crackers, they came alive!” said Dan, another student. “You think that I will believe that excuse!” said Mrs.Kallik. “Yes” replied another student named Erica. “Well you are wrong” said Mrs.Kallik, “I don’t” “Well you should! Because it is true!” said Ben and Ian together bravely, some more students in the class. “Ian, Ben, Dan, and Erica, go to the office immediately!” “Wait!” Hanna yelled, “They are telling the truth!”
It bit me!” As Hanna took her hand out of the box the whole class was jumping on to there desks away from the man eating animal crackers.
Big Zoo Lesson  -- 11-20-08

Mmmm! That smell always reminds me of Thanksgiving with pumpkin pie and Halloween by carving pumpkins! The smell of pumpkins get better and better each time you smell it As Mrs.Garnett transported the bright orange pumpkins to the trays on the tables, Mr.Dennis told us that whatever you spill, you clean up! All of a sudden a knot started building in my stomach, and I knew I was nervous! But when I found out I was working with, m and m, fatcow47, and the Snake, I was relieved!
As we dug into the squishy pumpkins I could feel the guts and the slippery seeds. The laughter all around me made me feel so delighted!
Cut! As the sharp knife in my hand flew through the the blazing orange skin of the pumpkin, everyone was carving their hole. Once I was done with my bright orange slick hole, my hands felt so bad and sticky. Seeds were stuck to my skin. But the guts, you could slip right off and away. That was my favorite part of the Big Zoo Lesson!

A Time I Got Hurt -- 11-19-08

   My friends and I were on a vacation during the 2008 summer, up north at Mullet Lake because our parents needed a brake from work. The third day we decided to go swimming because we were hot. As my friends stepped into the icy, cold, clear blue water, I decided to make up a game. "I'll stand 15 feet away from shore and give you rocks to skip!" I blabbed on," Make sure not to hit any one with the rocks okay!" " Okay!" they replied. As I dunked my head under water, I saw a flat, smooth, gray rock that would be great to skip. As I came back to catch a breath of air, I threw the grey rock to my friends, and then, I saw it. The five inch, pointy, smooth rock was coming strait at my for head. SMACK! It hit me. I screamed with horror. The pain was awful. " Did I get a black eye?" I asked myself stupidly. Then this lady came out to help me. Her eyes looked so caring in the bright, beautiful sun, but then just changed and looked mad, very. She rubbed a towel on my for head. I wanted her to stop but I knew she was trying to help. My mom came running out through the icy, cold water. It felt like I didn't even have a for head anymore. As I looked down to the lake, a pile if red water was what I saw. I started to walk to shore when my mom stopped me, then said to dunk my head under water because my face had red streaks on it. That made me want to hold on to her, tight. I knew that she was with me through it all. Many people crowded our trailer as I laid there silently on the couch. I wondered if the scar was big or was it small. Or was there even a scar? From the couch I could see the lake, where no one was, but the sand. I knew that my friend would apologize, but after two whole days, he still hadn't. Also, after two days, a scar appeared. Two inches long, and half a centimeter wide. I still remember the five inch, pointy, smooth rock coming right toward me, But I learn from it.

"Yawn! Good morning!"I say to myself."Rabbit sounds good this morning!" I just have to make sure no humans will see me me or some reporter will title her article,"Big Foot Discovered"! I mean, I'm not a "Big Foot"! I'm an exptencrlepeationcalamaluno. Otherwise known as "big gorrila". As I walked into the creek I heard voices. It sounded like English or fish talk. As I walked around the big tree I saw a human. Not a fish, but a human. It was pointing some kind of a box at me! He was also cranking some kind of handle. I just kept on walking and kept to myself that I was scared by not running. I tried to walk like normal and find a rabbit because I was starving!I just had to make sure I got out of the creek area and never go back again. But I thought I could have a little fun. I turned around and roared as I started charging at the human. He screamed and ran away."He'll never come back again!"I said to myself. I could see something move behind me. I started to charge, but there was no need to because it was just my friend. He said, "Dude, don't ever do that again!" We went to hunt deer because rabbit is unlucky on this day. The blood puddle still sits there today, still, as a statue.
