The All City Track Meet!!! -- 06-06-08

Hey the all city track meet was awsome. I got 3rd place in the 200 meter dash.My time was 37.58 .While I was running I could here the wind rush past my face. It was like being on a beach with the cool ocean breeze. I could here the wind pounding in my ears like what it's like when a big firework gose off right next to you on the 4th of july.After I ran my legs felt like PURE and I mean PURE led. Like those blocks they some times put on prisoners to make it hard to escape well imagine that was on your feet and try to walk with them. But once I got to the bleachers I felt fine. I had a lot of fun. I saw a bunch of my old friends from my old school to my bro's wrestling coach's son.

And that's what happened at the track meet.

In 1662 King Charles granted a charter to Connecticut colony saying that the Connecticut colony could make their own laws (Spear, 70) Assemblies elected laws, bet taxes, and raised companions of troops called militia (charter, 8). Then in 1687 King James wanted the British Parliament to make laws for the colonists, therefore repelling the charter.

In 1765, British Parliament could make laws for the colonists. The king needed to pay for the French and Indian War. So he made laws to tax the colonists thus the sugar act (Harcourt, 266).
The sugar act, 1764. ”This tariff angered the colonists, but what bothered them most was they had no parting making this law (January 6).”The king and British parliament had all had a say in making this new law. Unlike other citizens colonists couldn’t elect lawmakers but parliament was quick to remind colonists they were still British subjects (Harcourt 263).

The stamp act, 1765. This was another big blow to the colonist’s democratic ideals. The colonists had been practicing self-government for a century (Harcourt 263).
They collected their own taxes to pay for service in all the colonies. As James Odis had said “ No taxation without representation” Parliament added these new laws to show they could still make laws for the colonists. (Harcourt 272) The stamp act congress met to get these British laws were directly opposed the democratic ideals of self-government they practiced for a century.

The colonists didn’t get to elect representative into the British parliament, Therefore, they didn’t get any say in the mater to what laws would be past and they were forced to pay for those laws. The tea act was the last straw. The King made a third law that angered the colonists.

The tea act, 1765. The colonists were so fed up with parliament passing completely unfair laws so they decide to protest. Parliament repelled all taxes except the tax on tea. On December 16, 1773 the colonists dressed as Indians and threw every last bag of British tea into the Boston harbor, which later came to be known as the Boston tea party. The colonists believed in democracy (Harcourt 263). Congress sent an appeal for peace and harmony to King George the third and suggested that parliament get rid of all unconstitutional laws controlling America (Schanzer 24). The colonists were not represented in British parliament and believed their rights as British citizens were being ignored.

The colonists were British citizens living in America.
When their rights were being trampled by, the sugar act, the tea act, and the stamp were trampling British citizens act the appealed to the King and British parliament. When that didn’t work they protested. Eventually, The rally call “No taxation without representation” turned into the Revolutionary War.

A couple weeks ago we started a book called The Witch Of Blackbird pond. This book Takes place in 1687. In this book A girl rom Barbados comes to Wethersfield, Connecticut to live with her Aunt Rachel.Then around the 6th chapter when Kit the main carecter goes to metting or church she meets William Ashby. Then The next day he asks permission to call on or date kit. Her cousin Judith used to like William Ashby. But when Judith meets Jhon Holbroke she doesn't want William anymore. Then When Willaim comes to Aunt Rachel's house he brang up that he was building a house on land that he got 5 years ago. The reason I think that he brang that up because he was going to court Kit and later perpose.
Now Kit and Mercy have a job to teach kids how to read. One day when their theaching the kids when Kit thought it would be a good idea to act out a story from the BIBLE, (Now that was a bad Idea) ThenMr. kiberly and Reverand Woodbridge came and saw what was happening so he dissmissed the kids and dissmissed Kit but he's thinking about dissmissing Mercy too. Once Kit saw Mercy crying she bolted out of the house to the medow. There she met Hannah Tupper. Everone in Wethersfield thinks Hannah Tupper is a witch.

Mountain school -- 03-20-08

Yesterday @ 2:30 my class got back from mountain school(wich is in the north cascades). I had a lot of fun. I learned how to identify a Duaglas Fir tree and a Duaglas Fir Cone. For dinner the first day we had pasta. The next morning we had scrambled eggs and bacon. For lunch we had grilled chesse and patato. For dinner the second night we had Tacos,Rice,Beans. Then for breackfest on the last day we had pancakes and sasage. Then for brunch we had a bagel with sun dried tamato spred (Yuck) :(
I was in pine lodge. Our first call was "north, south , east,west, Pine lodge is the very best" Then we changed it to " That's the fact Jack. boom-shacka-laka-laka boom-shacka-laka-laka. Whoa! PINE LODGE"

Dear Dad,
I want to go to Alaska (instead of a BORING art museum) because I want to see the Iditarod race.
The Iditarod race started in 1973. In 1925 when Nome caught a disease called Diphtheria many people and animals died. So they decided to send a relay of dog sled teams to Anchorage to get Anti-Toxin, which is the only medicine that can cure Diphtheria. One of those dogs was named Balto. Balto was half-dog half-wolf. The race goes is 1,112 miles! Wow that’s a long race!
The weather in Alaska is very cold I bet it gets like 8 below in the winter. You could get frostbite really easily if your not prepared. But I bet if we have a lot of hand and feet warmers I thin we’ll be fine.
The mountains are so B-e-a-utiful so I would love to take pictures. All the dog sled teams have to have at least 12 dogs and you have to end the race with 6th at the least. If you get to 5 dogs I think you’re automatically out. This year Lance Mackey won his 6th year in a row.
So the reason I want to go to Alaska because of the Iditarod.

Mr. Professes expression was full of sorrow, as he looked back at all of his misfortune. Then suddenly there was a knock at the door. A stranger was standing there at the door. He looked strait into
Mr. Professes eyes and said,” My name is
Mr. Predate.” Said Mr. Predate,” Oh! You mean the Mr. Predate as in the detective Mr. Predate?” Interrupted Mr. Profess,” Yes! Are you aware of the explosion that happened last night?” Asked Mr. Predate,” No. Not that I’m aware of.” Said Mr. Profess thoughtlessly, ” Well this was a delightful discussion. Thank you.” Said Mr. Predate as he left. Mr. Profess went back to thinking of his misfortune. Then suddenly he remembered the prediction he was given to from Angela,” You will be cursed with great misfortune.” said Angela’s voice inside Mr. Professes head. That night Mr. Profess dreamt of horrible things such as a volcano erupting and everyone but him lived and that a wild bear tore him to pieces and later ate him. The next morning he killed himself to put him out of his misery. And he erodes in his house.

Hi it's me again it's time to talk about sutraction our problem is 1296-896=
First I split up the 896 into a 200 a 600 a 90 a 6 and a 1. Then I subtracted 200 from 1296 and that equaled 1096. Then I subtracted 90 from 1096 to get to a landmark number and that equaled 1006. Next I subtracted the 6 from the 1006 and that equaled 1000. Then I subtracted the 600 from the 1000 and that equaled 400. so now I only had to subtract 1 from the 400 and that equaled 399. So the answer to 1296-896=399

Hi It's me again I finished the sea of monsters awhile ago no I'm reading Eragon! I've only read the begining of the book but my brother said it was a good book! what happend so far is that Eragon was hunting for food and insted he found a blue stone ( well it's atcaly an egg but he thinks it's a stone) with white lines all over it's shell! Eragon tried to trade it for some meat at Sloan's meat shop shop but he would not trade it for meat. so the Sloans duaghter Katrina told the black smith Horst. Then out of no were Roan told Sloan to give Eragon the finiest meats and he paid for the meat and Eragon went home with some meat for his family!

I used to think that if you added more washers you would get more swings but I was wrong and so I added to my schema box that if you add more washers you get the same amount of swings as one washer so that variable didn't change anything! Then I thout that if you changed the string that if you made the string longer it wouldent change alot but I was wrong again it made a big diference if you make it longer it had only five swings! So than I thought if you make the string shorter it would get alot of diference! And thats what I lereaned about Pendulums!
