lightning strike

I was home with my family when a couple of lightning bolts hit a pole next door. It burst into flames and it sounded like 100 horse whips hitting the pole and I said ‘we’re next’.
It struck as loud as I’ve ever heard it. Our home was destroyed. But there was still one hope and the insurance company paid it off.
All the lights were turned off and I was just crying like heck. All the money was $200 000 because it did heaps of damage. When our house got fixed up it was good as new.

The Power Show

On Wednesday everyone was asking the teacher “what is a power show?” and the teacher said, “I don’t know”.
The power show came here to tell us to make good choices and respect people’s courage to do things, consideration, caring and acceptance.
The funniest things was the little green parrot because it dances to the music and the parrot had a girlfriend and in between the show the parrot wanted to write a letter to his girlfriend and that was funny.
Wharepapa South joined Puahue to watch the power show. At the start of the show we broke the clapometer. We had to clap hard out to make the sign go up to 10. First the girls tried it and they got to 7. Then the boys tried it and they got to mighty 8! Then we all tried and got to ten and broke the clapometer.
There was a ladder with stuff like courage and I thought the power show was very, very cool.

One time a long time ago there was a haunted house and I went up to it and threw a stone at it and it got very very mad and it was so mad that it ate the stone. So Ifor and Isaac ran like heck and I said what was that? I don't know but it sure was freaky. I think it is standing and chasing us and we destroyed it by chucking a bomb into its heart and it died and we never saw it again and that was that. But then we did see another one and isaac said not again.

On Friday everybody was asking me what is that? And I only told my friends what it was and then I opened the box, took it out, turned it on and then I heard people say, “Fly it, fly it.” Then I flew the toy and the remote control. It was red and it was a very little helicopter. Then it crashed into someone. Then I was like, “O!h no”
And then I thought of my spare pieces in my bag and then I ran to my bag and got my spare pieces and fixed it and then I flew it again but then the bell rings and we had to go to morning tea.

The Richards family - Mum, Dad, James and Nicola - live in Te Awamutu.
Nicola is slow and not brainy. She is a 5 year old girl. James is fast and brainy. He is a boy.
One day James and Nicola were playing at the park. They ran past a bush. The bush was big and had chunky leaves.
As they passed the bush they heard a hissing sound.
“What was that?” asked James.
Nicola looked at the bush.
“It was that bush. It was hissing,” she said.
“Don’t be silly!” said James. “Bushes don’t hiss.”
“It was hissing. I’ll show you,” said Nicola.
She walked past the bush again.
The bush hissed.
The children looked at each other. They looked at the bush.
Then a big fat rattlesnake chased the children. They ran to the car and then Mum and Dad got in the car and that family never came again.

Me and Ifor were playing my PSP and then a ferocious storm struck and the power went out. So me and Ifor yelled out,
“Mum, Dad! Jo, Aaron!”
Then Mum lights the fire and we sit and play Monopoly. When we finish the game we hear a noise. Then all the power comes back!
Then me and Ifor say,
“Ohh!!”
I wanted to do that again but Mum says,
“Maybe when Ifor comes again the power might go out again.”
When me and Ifor go to play PSP again we say,
“I wish the power went out again.”
When we play our PSP again a strike of lightning strikes and the power goes out.
I yell, “Here we go again!”

In the holidays I went to Pauanui and me, Mum, Dad and Lachlan came. On the day that we got there we just had a look around. Me and Lachlan were riding our bikes. We ended up at the Skate Park so me and Lachlan went to ride bikes on the skate park and that was very cool. After that we had a look around town and after that we went home and when I was home I was exhausted. Then I ate dinner, played a board game and went to bed. The next day me and Lachlan had to play by ourselves until 11 o’clock and today we are going to play min-golf and my dad won! Mum came 2nd, I came 3rd and Lachlan came 4th and that was very fun. After that we went back to the bach and had lunch and played mobilo.

Cat and mouse story

“Oh no what is the time? I need to meet my grand children at the café to celebrate one of their birthdays. But how do I get there without waking up the cat?” said a mouse. The mouse is John Cena. He strong and fast. He is a boy.
He ran past very quick to the corner of the tree and when he poked his head around he was face to face with a cat. He turned the corner and froze in fear when he saw a large face right in front of him. Two large yellow eyes stared at him and when he saw long whiskers on each side of the face he realised he was face to face with a cat. That was not a sight the little mouse wanted to see.
He ran like heck and then we think it is the end of John Cena. Hey, look at that. John Cena opened his mouth and John gave that cat five big punches and that cat never even came near him again.
Hey, what is the time? I need to get a move on to visit my grandchildren at the café. I’ll tell them all about my adventures that I had today.

When We Went To Maungatautari

Oh no, please don’t rain.
The whole school went to Maungatautari on Friday and when we got there we all had to squash up on the bus. Then Selwyn and Rosemary talked to us about that we are doing. When we got to the planting area I planted my plant and Miss Knight took three photos of me putting my plant in the hole. After everyone planted their plant we had a school photo of Puahue standing around our plants.
Then we did the Rata Track walk. When we got past quite a lot of bits and pieces we got to the tower. It was 95 steps tall, that’s how humungous it is.
When we finished the Rata Track walk we were so starving but we still had one more bit to go. That was Tony’s talk. Tony has a dog called Check and it is a rodent dog. Rodent dogs are special trained dogs.
