“Why do I have to go to school?” Kelly questioned her mom angrily.

"Just get dressed already!” mom yelled from the kitchen.

When Kelly was getting dressed, she thought 'Why do I really need to go to school? I already have an education. And all I do is dumb stuff like read, write, math, s.s, and health + science.'  Kelly stopped.  She heard a voice singing.  Who is singing about how they love school? Kelly saw her sister.

Kelly stomped over and said in an attitude “Why Do You Love School Stella?”

“I love school because it’s peaceful not like you.”

'Oh, I really do not like it when she says that repeatedly.' After they got dressed and ate, they heard the bus horn honking. Kelly without saying bye to her mom stomped out to the bus. Stella on the other hand said bye and skipped on the bus.

Kelly saw her friends coming down the street and angrily said hi to them and got on the bus in a rage.

Stella and Kelly’s friends just shrugged and got on the bus quickly so they can catch up to Kelly. Stella and Kelly sat next to each other and Kelly’s friends sat in the row next to them.

Stella had an idea to get Kelly angrier. Stella made every one on the bus sing I love school. I love school. lalalala over and over again. I cant take this any more I hate school. I hate how every one wants me to love it. I only like projects with my buddies.

When they got off the bus, Kelly and her friends went to their class and Stella went to her class.

When Kelly's teacher said "Every one settle down, settle down we are going to be doing a project today," every one sat down and listened. Kelly was starting to get happier when the teacher picked out their partners. Kelly got partnered up with the girl that she hates more then any one in the class, Stefanie! Kelly thought to herself, ‘oh why did I get partnered up with Stefanie? She just ruined the day for me again!’

"I hate this as much as you hate it," Stefanie groaned.

"If we both hate being partners lets tell the teacher that we want to switch." Kelly said pretty happy because the might switch.

“OK fine." Stefanie said in a getting happier tone of voice.

"Teacher we would like to switch partners." Kelly said

"Why? I thought putting 2 people that don't like each other together will make them seem to get along." the teacher said thinking about it.

”Well it's not working out just switch us!" Stefanie said angrily.

”Finally we have something that we agree on" Kelly said happy, and they hi fived each other.

”Are we getting along?" Stefanie said shyly and happy.

”I think so." Kelly said happy.

They both said never mind to the teacher and laughed all the way to their seat.

When it was time for lunch Stefanie and Kelly's friends sat together and ate lunch and laughed. By the end of the day Kelly liked school and Stefanie and Kelly became friends.

My Heritage

Article posted January 18, 2010 at 06:39 PM GMT-5 • comment (2) • Reads 91

What makes my heritage unique is that both my parents come from Israel. I usually celebrate more of my culture at my dad’s house. Our special foods are hummus and chulnt which is made of meat, beans, and potatoes. You put it in the oven for 24 hours and is delicious! We don’t wear special clothes. We follow Purim, Chanukah, Rosh Hashanah, and Yom kipper, which is the day of atonment. The Jewish heritage is the only heritage or culture followed in my household. At my mothers house we celebrate more of the American culture like thanksgiving and new years. But at my dad’s house Jewish culture and religion is more important and that is why we celebrate the Jewish holidays.

Passion Blog

"Tal is your passion becoming a vet?"  "Yes! Being a teacher is my passion dani. But do you know why i adore it so much?"  " I have wondered why you loved it so much but why?"  “Because I get to work with animals and I care for them a lot.” “Oh ok."  Oh this gets me so exited to talk about it because I’ve really wanted to take care and help animals who are sick. I just want to grow up faster so I could do be a vet. I’m so passionate about being a vet because I get to help animals from lizards, to cats, to dogs, to exec and exec. What I’d like to achieve is being a successful veterinarian. The thing that holds me back is that now I’m too young to be a vet and experience helping animals. I see my passion being a great success in the future and being a place where people would come every time there animal would get hurt or they need there shots.

When I heard I needed to go to the confrens I got so worried because I have never been to a confrence. oh my goodness i'm gonna do so bad in writing becuse there gonna show me my scores on my writing assesments. I ran in the school geting to my teachers as fast as posible telling them my moms coming she just had to park her car ! I was out of breath from running but I maneged to say good affter noon to my teachers and shake their hands. I thought the confress went well, I had some bad points in time but it was fine. I had the conversation of how good I was doing and how I neeed to improve more but mostly it was how good I was. I would love to be included again because I had such a good and fun experience that I really want to go again. I just dont want to run like that through the halls again. After the confrence was over me and my mom went to pizza and we went home to eat it.

(NYRW)- National Young Readers Week

My favorite book is Miss Popularity by Fransceco Sedita. This book is about a girl named Cassie and how she has to move to Maine from her beloved hometown in Texas. Cassie was very upset about this and her parents eventually calmed her down about it. Cassie was happy about being able to meet new people and make new friends. At first the people in Cassie's school were not nice to her and they made fun of her Texan accent. Eventually Cassie was ready to give up on her life in this unusual place in Maine and was going to beg her parents to go home, when a really friendly girl named Etoile takes Cassie under her wing. In the end, just like in fairy tales Cassie & Etoile enjoy each other's company and become very good friends.

I chose to write about this book because it makes me feel that when new kids come along don't just ignore them or leave them out beacause I was once in their place and it doesn't feel good to be the odd one out and not know anybody. Whenever new kids come along I try my hardest to include them in anything I do such as hanging out with my friends or play a sport at reccess or even if I'm sitting at a desk doing work and notice them alone. It doesn't feel right to leave someone out and see them upset when I could end up with a good friend.

A reason I think people should read this is becasue this book has a lot of situations that can occur in real life. Moving somewhere where you don't know anyone and the place is unfamiliar to you and having difficulty making friends is something that happens practically everyday, whether it's to a next door neighbor or someone in another country. Even things like making new friends and experimenting with new types of clothing styles and hairstyles, language, vocabulary, and different religions. Even new ways of communicating such as texting or talking on the phone versus computers and message boards are things that come with moving and meeting new people or even just getting used to different ways of life in your enviornment.

In addition to having situations that occur in real life I think that you should read this book because it relates to many people. If you are in "denial" because you just moved or you might have had a huge fight with your best friend. This book teaches you some ways to stay optimistic and gives you some ideas on how to make new friends. I find that this book is interesting because it has drama and comedy but also includes a little traegdy.

Acceptance and Empathy

Article posted October 28, 2009 at 07:48 PM GMT-5 • comment (2) • Reads 298

In the book that were reading is about a boy named Joey and he has ADHD and boys pick on him at school. Maby at the end of the book he will have a lot of friend but for not we have to wait and see.

When I’m not accepted is when my sister has her friends over. When I ask her to play she says no my friends are my friends and I hanging out with them. When my sister told me that my heat sank and I felt lonely and sad. I told my mom that my sister didn’t let me play with them my mom said “their your sister’s friends and some times they like to be left alone.” Now I have changed a lot on leaving my sister alone and letting my sister and her friends hang out. So it doesn’t bother me now because I can have a hang out when ever.

One time I wasn’t accepting is when I was at my cousin’s house. I was playing cards with my one cousin and my other cousin came over and said let me play. My cousin and I said no were playing now and you can’t play. I didn’t show acceptance because I didn’t want him to play and he was a pain. Now I’d love him to play with me because he’s much nicer and he’s not such a pain.

The Formations of the Earth

(Water Erosion) One scientific fact  I learned is that water erosion is caused by the removal of solid materials by force from wind and water.

(Island Formation) One scientific fact that I learned is that an island has a dynamic formation. One type of island is a coral island thats made by coral.

(Delta Formation) One scientific fact I learned about deltas is that as they gain age the delta gains a destributary network.

(Lake Formation) One scientific fact I learned is that the Great lakes were formed by glaciers, and lakes were formed by glaciers too.

(Wind Erosion) One scientific fact that I learned is that wind erosion makes holes in the ground and causes sand dunes.

In conclusion, I learned that presenting can be hard work and takes a lot of preperation. In the end though, it is fun.I like presenting because it makes me feel like I can speak out more. What I will try to fix for my next presentation is that instead of having my back towards the camera I will face it. I will try to make my voice more audible.
