Article posted June 6, 2012 at 10:54 PM GMT • comment • Reads 102

In this article, Google wants Apple to know how difficult and costly it is for them to make good maps. Google dominates online maps. It has recently come to a threat though. In the recent months, increased developer fees have raised interest in alternatives from Microsoft or Apple. In response, Google offered a long list of what it will take to match them. The list totaled millions of dollars in expenditures. Google has been working on its maps for about eight years. Google has purchased airlines to make precise 3D maps. There are also impressive new features that include offline use. Google is looking to pressure Apple and win in the long run.

In this article, it tells how fashion companies are explanding their sales online. 500 people had endorsed a look by Fancy after a fashion show. In the quickly evolving world of social shopping, this was not a big deal. Here, though, it was. This sweater was far less popular than a photo of a combination of a toilet paper holder and magazine rack. 5 of these sweaters managed to sell quickly. As Fancy expands their fashion category, they sell about $10,000 in merchandise a day. Most of their business comes through links on other sites.

Adios Windows

Article posted May 27, 2012 at 03:39 PM GMT • comment • Reads 31

In this article, many people don't LOVE their windows-based PC. Microsoft acts as thought their customers have a strong affection for everyhting windows. Many products that have no relation to each other have the WIndows Live moniker. Windows Live Essentials was for photo management, video editing, and instant messaging. It has become a folly. It turned out to be less than essential. It began to add Live to other devices. Such as Xbox Live, allowing people to play online in real time. Windows Live is disappearing, but the word Live will continue where it began.

Why did Cisco stop making tablets? In the online article, it is explained how Cisco decided to stop producing its Cius tablet. They cited the failure of the problem as a market transition to say that people didnt really buy it. There is an added benefit from reading between the lines of this failure. It blames what the industry calls B.Y.O.D. or bring your own devices. Cisco has 95 percent of organizations to allow employees to bring teir own devices into work. Both iPad and Android are taking over the market. oon, a lot of new laptops, phones, and tablets will be out running Windows 8. Everybody will be taking a lesson from Cisco.

Tech Savvy New York

Article posted May 10, 2012 at 07:58 PM GMT • comment • Reads 83

The technology industry has been growing the fastest close by in New York. New York City's technology  industry is growing so quickly by attracting investors and engineers to join the reliable broadband network, despite spotty access. A few years ago, New "Tech" City had passed Boston as the second-leading breeding ground for technology companies. When the number of venture deals fell 10 percent in the nation, it rose 32 percent in New York. The industry was pushed to help stop people's dependence on Wall Street. Another major part of how New York became so tech savvy is how they redirected their technology goal. Instead of designing computers, they are devising applications for mobile devices.

In the article, Color Labs is trying to boost its service by teaming up with Verizon. An app that they launched last March was morphed into an application that allows people to broadcast live vides to their social networks. This would allow their friends to tune in to see what they wewre doing at the moment. Partnering with Verizon is hoped to help propel the app into the mainstream. This will also help improve the quality of streamed videos. Now that one million people are using it, the company is starting to worry. They want people to be able to use  the app without network snags. Now that they are trying to improve the app, they are creating an Intragram model, adding special effects and filters.

Activation Disappointment

Article posted April 24, 2012 at 09:18 PM GMT • comment • Reads 70

In the CNN article, AT&T and Verizon are an indication that it might be a bad quarter for Apple. The iPhone activations from the top two carriers came in lower than expected. About one million more iPhone activations were expected. Apple is no longer to avoid seasonal drop offs in iPhone demand. It is a possibility that Apple customers are so used to the release cycle that they are waiting for the newest iPhone to come ou tthis summer. Although the activations were a adiappointment, the cell ohne companies' profit margins were boosted. Because Apple forces carriers to pay the highest upfront subsidies. Yet, there is some hope left for increases.
