Coca-Cola

Article posted June 6, 2008 at 01:59 PM GMT • comment • Reads 714

Today in India there is a problem with coca-cola. Now you think coca-cola has nothing wrong with it but think again. Coca-Coca is trying to make it look like there not doing anything wrong. There are Coca-Cola Plants everywhere in India and its taking their water and Polluting groundwater. The people in India are going on strike around the plants and it says in the article that the government sent armed police to “protect” the plant, but the protesters were beaten up. I think it’s very sad because half of the people are poor. Most of the people that live there can’t even afford to buy coca-cola. I can’t imagine someone doing that to so many people.

America Is Thirsty

Article posted May 30, 2008 at 01:01 PM GMT • comment • Reads 206

The people in the states are running out of drinking water. They are looking at Canada for water because we have a lot of drinking water. I don’t think we should sell our water because if we sell our water to them the water would run out quickly and then where would we turn to? Eventually we won’t have that much water. The president in the United States said that he is going to fight for our water also George W. Bush said that one day water will be like oil.

NewBrunswick / Close to home.

Article posted May 21, 2008 at 12:57 PM GMT • comment • Reads 223

Dear People from New Brunswick,
I am a student in grade 8 and I go to Eleanor w. Graham school in the province New Brunswick. In New Brunswick they might do uranium mining, uranium is a metal in the ground and it’s a source of energy. I think there is already environmental problems that are happening and we don’t need another. For instance we have acid rain, the acid rain increases colds and the climate change and uranium can cause cancer by the high radiation that is released in to the air and damages cells and DNA and that causes cancer. Also it will be in the air we breathe the food we eat and the water we drink. I am against it and I think you should be to, also think about your family and friends.

Fresh Water / What I learned

Article posted May 12, 2008 at 05:42 PM GMT • comment (3) • Reads 341

Did you know that monkeys can swim? Well I didn't
After I watched fresh water I learned a lot of things about animals and that some of them I didn't even know about them. They also can stay under water under thirty seconds.
Also I learned that Angel Falls is the world’s tallest waterfall and I looked up that it is located in Canaima National Park and the total height is 979 m which is 3,212 ft.

Stuff .

Article posted April 25, 2008 at 12:53 PM GMT • comment (3) • Reads 384

We watched a short movie called "The Story of Stuff" in class and I think all the things that those people do isn’t right. But I think the most important thing in the video is pollution. The factories where they make stuff in them they are releases toxic gasses in the air. These toxic chemicals are in the air, water and food. Also it could cause illness and cancer and hurt the children. I think we should stop buying things that pollute the earth and maybe they will stop making them because we’re the ones that have the choice not to support them.

Fired!!

Article posted April 11, 2008 at 06:12 PM GMT • comment • Reads 206

Once in a cell there were people who were called the organelles. Everyone had a job to do in the cell factory. The boss was the nucleus who controlled what ever does. He was a mean boss, one day he was angry at vacuoles for no reason. Vacuoles job was to keep everything in storage like food wastes and other substances. Nucleus was so mad he fired vacuole for nothing. Couple days later the cell factory was a mess, all the food and wastes were every where and it joined with the cytoplasm and made a bigger mess. Vacuoles came back to talk to the boss and right away he hired him back.
