An object at rest will remain at rest or an object in motion will remain in motion unless acted on by an unbalance force. EXAMPLE: If you have a soccer ball laying on the grass it will not move unless you kick it. You kicking it would be the unbalanced force. 2. Acceleration is formed when a force acts on a mass. EXAMPLE: The heavier an object is the more force it takes to move it or the more force applied the faster its speed would be. 3. When a force is applied to an object the object exerts a force in the opposite direction. EXAMPLE: If you throw a ball on a rock it bounces back. That is because the rock exerts a force in the other direction.    Each person in our group of 4 had their own important job and the jobs were, Historian, Lawyer, Physicist and Design Engineer. The Historian had to find out the history of roller coasters and the changes in materials used to build them. The Lawyer had to find out the laws parks have to follow, why roller coasters are a danger and what laws amusement parks have for people to follow. The Physicist forces roller coasters have, explain Newton's laws, exits and stop speeds of roller coasters. Design Engineer what roller coasters are made of and their design. My job was the Lawyer and the stuff I found out was very interesting, but if I included them all you would have 12 sentences of info. So here are a couple I found really interesting: 1. Wyoming does not have any amusement parks. 2. About 10,000 riders have been treated in the hospital for injuries at amusement parks in 1999.    This project was for sure a success because I learned so much and now know what it takes to make a roller coaster. Our finished coaster which was the success on this page was named the Shmoe Dragon.        This coaster was a success because it had enough energy (speed) to make the loops and hills and finally it slowed down to stop at the end.   This coaster was a failure because it was going too fast at the end and crashed.  If you want to try and create your own roller coaster like I did than click here. Each of the grades only have one classroom but sometimes we switch classes or go to our lab.    I like my school because I have improved since 1st grade and now I am in all the advanced classes. Another thing is that we have assemblies that teach us a lot about history, science, and more. The assemblies are also fun. For my third thing, I like the fall carnival we have which is a carnival in our school with lots of games like baseball throw, mini golf, and a Nerf gun shooting range. The carnival is held in the school not outside. The carnival is for charity or some needy family.    I like my school so much and I would never like to go to any other school. The sixth grade is charting these events in these blog posts. The best score is presidential and the worst is participant. I did the six grade push-ups. Here is the info. 14 or 45.2% of the kids got presidential. 6 or 19.4 % got national. National is the second best. 11 or 35% of the kids got Participant. Participant is the lowest you can get. #### Hurricane Sandy is a hurricane that came through the U.S.A. from Oct. 22- Oct. 31. The total cost to repair the damage caused by Sandy is 52.4 billion dollars. The top wind speed of Hurricane Sandy is 110 mph. Hurricane Sandy was a category 2 hurricane but, caused 121 deaths in the U.S.    A lot of damage happened on the East coast but I too was effected. My family and neighborhood lost power the first day of the storm around 3 o'clock. Most of my shudders fell off and same with my neighbors. Also my neighbor's swing set blew over and was destroyed to the point where it couldn't be fixed. By the forest lots of trees fell on people's houses.  I can't believe all the destruction we had.    Hurricane Sandy changed my life and lots of other peoples'. I also hope it doesn't happen again. Reynold ties with my glog because I made a special dot and in it I wrote why the world needs me. I learned that the world needs me because I will help restore marine life's enviroment. Also if you didn't do as well as you suspected then try to do better and listen in class. If you do these things you might do better this year. We used the wiki to put information that we needed in our glog. I will always remember about this glog is that deciduous forests are not just in the United States, they are all over the world. Also, not all deciduous forests have the same animals. Our class did this project bcause we were learning about biomes. This project helped us learn more about all the different biomes. To see my glog post full-sized. Click here. Article posted April 30, 2012 at 05:43 PM GMT0 • comment • Reads 3088
Article posted March 12, 2012 at 07:18 PM GMT0 • comment • Reads 8011 In my poster, you can see that the smoker is tired and on the ground. Smoking can lead to having trouble breathing and that is why the smoker can not run to the finish line. If you don't smoke you will be able to develop healthy and strong lungs. The people running almost at the finish line did not smoke, so their lungs helped them to take in the air they need for activity. Smoking does not just affect your lungs, it also affects your heart. Your heart gets blood to all of your body parts and if blood doesn't get to your legs, feet, hands, (etc.) they won't move. If you think smoking makes you healthy and strong you are wrong; smoking gets you nowhere. I learned about the harmful side effects of smoking, like cancer, stroke, heart attacks, and many more. I also learned that one of the ways people start smoking is peer pressure. If you want to live a healthy life - don't smoke! Click on my picture to see it full-sized. Article posted March 12, 2012 at 07:18 PM GMT0 • comment • Reads 8011
