Have you ever wanted to start a business and sell shares in it? If you said yes, there are some things you need to know. First, you have to go to the state capitol to get a corporation charter and permit. Next, you have to go to an investment banker and show him the stats of your company and what you want to do with the money. If he likes your plan, he will help you. But before you start selling shares, you must go to Washington D.C. to show a judge that the papers are real. Then, the investment banker will give you money for the shares you want. When that is all said and done, you can finally sell shares for your business.

Padre Pio

My dear friend, Francesco Forgione, was born in the tiny village of Pietrelcina, Italy on May 25, 1887. Francesco had a normal childhood but was very devout in his prayers. He had many dreams and visions that called him to be a servant of God. At the age of 16 Francesco left for the Capuchin friary where he was given the name of Padre Pio. I met my friend at the Capuchin friary when I was a small boy that helped with chores there. Padre Pio stayed at the friary for one year and was then placed at a nearby monastery from 1904 to 1908 until he would be ordained a priest. It was during that time that Pio needed medical advice, which he received from my father. I felt so sorry for my dear friend, Pio, he was suffering terribly with a very mysterious illness and horrific nightmares. I would bring him water and he would tell me of the vivid nightmares he would have about fighting demons. After being ordained in 1910, he spent more time in our hometown of Pietrelcina because of his frequent illness. Many of our townspeople always spoke of how Pio must be a saint because of the suffering he endured even at the young age of 23.
When attending Padre Pio’s masses I, and many others, could see how intense his prayers were, like no other mass I had ever attended. Padre Pio would sometimes spend over twelve hours a day just hearing confessions. He was drawing quite a following in his monastery of San Giovanni Rotondo. Padre Pio told me how he wished he could offer himself for all of the souls in Purgatory, and prayed continually for all those who turned against God. While praying after a mass one September in 1918 Padre Pio received the wounds of Christ. He would become known as the first documented priest in the history of the church that received these painful wounds on his feet, hands, and side. It would continue for fifty years. At first it frightened me to see my friend suffer so much, but Pio found it comforting to confide in me, so I listened. Padre Pio did not ask for the celebrity that he was becoming. Thousands of people a day would come from all over the world to get a glimpse of my friend. Even a young Pope John Paul II came to have his confession heard by Pio. He also asked Pio to intercede for a friend who was dying of throat cancer. That woman was cured two weeks later.
At the age of 81, on September 23, 1968 Pio died as he had lived, with a rosary in his hands. I remember the words Pio would tell me of how not to be sad about his death, but that his real mission would begin after his death. Amazingly the painful marks of Christ that he carried with him for the last fifty years had disappeared, not even a scar remained in their site. There are countless miracles of curing the sick said to be associated with Pio, not to mention his living miracle of the wounds of Christ. The very same young archbishop that had told his confession to Padre Pio some years earlier was now Pope John Paul II, who canonized the wonderful St. Pio on June 16, 2002. When Padre Pio was praying for a young man many years ago, he said to Pio that he did not believe in God, Pio responded that it was okay and that God believed in him. That would be a great message that St. Pio would want us all to remember , that even when we may not feel we are with God, he is always with us.
I chose St. Pio as the Saint for whom I would like to emulate and take the name on my confirmation day. He did many wonderful things while enduring great suffering. I wanted to pick an Italian saint and he was the most inspiring that I have read about. I will be proud to have Pio as my confirmation name and hope I could be as brave as he was.

MDGs

An MDG is a Millennium Development Goal. It is where 189 leaders from around the world came together to figure out a way to make the world better for people. They started it for many different reasons, some sad and some very sad. Here are the 8 MDGs:
1.Eradicate extreme poverty and hunger. 2.Achieve universal primary education. 3.Promote gender equality and empower women. 4.Reduce child mortality. 5.Improve maternal health. 6.Combat HIV/AIDS, malaria, and other diseases. 7.Ensure environmental sustainability. 8.Develope a global partnership for development
We know a project is underway because they are asking for donations for what they are trying to complete. Also we know the project is underway because recycling is becoming very popular. The last reason we know that it is underway is because all you have to do is look around you and you will find that people are helping. Like if you look at the charities and the organizations against poverty, hunger, and all those things people are helping for those causes and that is a very nice thing to do.

Here are some facts about my school. I know it's hard, but here are three characteristics about my school:
1.) Lunch: You can talk to friends and eat your lunch.
2:) Recess: You could: play tag, hang out, or just take a walk around the yard or asphalt.
3:) Gym/Computer: You can play on the computer when not doing work. You can play dodgeball, mission impossible, and many other games.
Those are just three of the many good things we have at my school

If I had two tickets to go anywhere I would go to The Golden Temple in Amritsar, India. I am going here because it is in a a large blue sacred pool of Nectar. I would probably take my brother because he really likes to learn about ancient artifacts. I would probably go in the winter so it's not to hot their like in the spring time. I will leave out of the Lehigh Valley airport. The best part of the trip will be when we first go in The Golden Temple.

This year is especially is exciting because my favorite team, The Yankees, are in the World Series. My favorite player is Derek Jeter, he is fun to watch. I can't wait to see how this series turns out, hopefully my team will be the winner.
