We did something called, "Where in Washington?" with another class on video chat. Where in Washington is something where there are 8 teams and you have to guess where they are in Washington. Each team will give you at least three clues to start with. Our class was split up into 8 teams. My team was team number three. Our team was trying to guess where a different team from another school was in Washington. Sadly our team got it wrong, but it still was fun trying to find out where they were from. It turned out that the team was in Aberdeen. We were way off. Team one was from Mc Cleary, team two Shaw Island, team three Aberdeen, team four us Naches, team five Anacortes, team six Mabton, team seven Kelso, team eight Olympia. Our host was a teacher from Olympia, named Jeff Allen. We used maps and a computer to try and find out where they were. My favorite part was using the computer to try and find out where the other team was. That is what "Where in Washington" is!

I love skiing because it is so fun to slide down a hill on skis. The place I go to ski is White Pass. Skiing is one of my favorite things to do because you can go really fast on skis, or really slow. You can make big turns and little turns. I like to downhill ski because you don't really have to work, like push yourself, you just glide down the hill. One time, when I was at White Pass, I went on the platter. The platter is a plastic plate that you place in between your legs like a rope swing. Then you hold on and it will pull you up the hill. The next thing you do, is hop off and ski down the hill. Another thing I have done, is gone on the chairlift. It is super fun! At White Pass, I take skiing lessons. I have now finished my lessons. At White Pass there is snow there for a long time but in spring the snow starts to melt. In certain areas there can be up to 100 feet of snow! That is cool. I hope you can get a chance to ski because it is fun!

Two things I have done in Washington include playing softball and swimming at the Naches Pool. I like softball because it is fun for me, and all the people I play with are really funny! Some people on my team are Josie, Summer, Rachel, Kalaina and Monica. I have a lot of fun with them all, and they have a lot of fun with me. One thing I do not like about softball, is when you are not looking at the ball, and you get hit in the head! It hurts a lot. I know that because it happened to me twice! I love swimming because I think it is super, super fun! I love the feeling of being underwater. It is so cool! One time, when I was at the Naches Pool, I was underwater and I popped up in front of one of my friends, Kelly, and she screamed because she was so scared! One thing I forgot to tell you is that we won a game tonight. It was really fun. The score was 4 to 14 and we did great! All the people on our team had sunflower seeds and one seed bounced off someone's leg and landed in the coach's hood! Everyone cracked up! Those are some things, I have done in Washington.

The time I almost got an iPad was just a couple of days ago. When my dad came back from Seattle he gave my mom an iPad, me a book, and my brother a toy. I was really disappointed because I really wanted one but my mom got one instead. My dad calls it the "family's" but I know it is my mom's. My mom is really nice because she lets me use it and I use it a lot! My brother uses it to but not as much as I do. The only thing he uses it for is to play Angry Birds, I do not know why he likes it so much I think it is just a weird game but when I say it's weird he frekes out and says "I lOVE ANGRY BIRDS." It's funny listening to him talk about Angry Birds he says things like, one time I did this or it was so funny because I did this. I love playing with the iPad it is so fun touch!!!

One interesting fact about Dallas Seavey is that he spent a swhole year training at the U.S. Olympic Training Center because he was such a good wrestler. He comes from a family of mushers. His dad and his grandfather are mushers and now Dallas is mushing to. In fact, Dallas Seavey is the youngest person in history to run the Iditarod race. He became the Yukon Quest champion in 2011. Dallas Seavey has a wife, Jen, and a daughter named Annie. They live in Willow, Alaska and run WildRide Sled Dog Rodeo in Anchorage.

How to use a Steam Table

A stream table is useful because it can teach you about rivers, erosion and soil. You need need these things to create a steam table; a clear tub, soil, humus, sand, clay, gravel, velcro, puddy knife, and a small plastic cup with a hole at the bottom. Add all the ingredients to the tub except for the water. Mix with a puddy knife or something similar. Use the knife to smooth it out and create a cliff on one side of the tub. Attach velcro to the bottom of the cup, but don't cover your hole. Put another piece of velcro on the lip of the tub. Now you need one liter of water and you can pour it slowly into the cup. Now you should see how the water moves on the soil.
This can help you understand how rivers move and what they might do because the stream table is a little version of a river.

The water runs downhill to form a delta. The mouth is where the river ends. This should be the lowest point after the cliff.

My Elf Story

Once there was an evil elf named Frank. Frank wanted to take over the world because all the kids in school laughed at him because he was so short and had a long beard. So every day when Frank got home from school he would tell his mother, ''I will take over the world!'' in a high squeaky voice. Frank would also fill water balloons to take to school to throw at all the people that made fun of him. ''Today is a very special day,'' Frank said, as he filled his backpack with water balloons.
Today was the day that Frank would throw water balloons at the people that were always laughing at him. Frank was thinking about what he would say after he threw the water balloons, when all of a sudden he fell off his dog Sparky. “Sparky, get back here!” Frank said. Sparky trotted back, just like his owner commanded.
When Frank got to his school, he tied up Sparky and went to class. Frank took out his backpack and the water balloons. He started throwing them at all of the people that had laughed at him. When the teacher walked out to the playground, Frank got in the biggest trouble he had ever been in. First the teacher called his mother, second his mother came to pick him up and take him home. Frank knew right away that he was grounded.
When Frank got home he went straight to his room before his mother could tell him to. As Frank walked into his room he saw a pot of gold and when Frank picked up the pot of gold a cage fell over him. All of a sudden a huge giant appeared and took him to a cave.
When Frank woke up in the big cave, he looked around trying to figure out were he was. Then the giant appeared and Frank screamed loudly, “ Please don’t hurt me!” The giant only said, “I won’t hurt you, unless being eaten is painful.” “Why do you want to eat me?” said Frank. “First of all, because I am hungry and second of all, because you are getting into too much trouble.” “If you don’t eat me, I won’t be mean and I won’t get into any more trouble.” “Ok,” said the giant, as he let Frank go. As soon as Frank’s feet touched the ground he started to run home and he never, never, never, was mean again.
