When I put the batteries in series form the motor was stronger. It lifted 3 washers. When we put the batteries in parallel form, it only lifted 1 washer.
Series triples the power and parallel lasted longer.

I would have something above the cart with a hook on the bottom and put the rubber band on the hook and the other side of the rubber band on a hook on the cart. Then pull the cart back and let go.
