6.1 I learned that different surface types make more or less friction, like they don't all have the same amount of friction.

6.2 I learned that the more weight on a surface type will make more friction.

6.3 I learned that if you add more surface area on a surface type the friction stays pretty much the same.

The reason we were measuring friction is because we pulled a block across a surface for a certain amount of length which made the force pull backwards which is friction.

Controlled variables:

How far we pulled the blocks

How fast we pulled the blocks

The surface type

Manipulated variable:

Surface type

Weight

Surface area

Controlled = we were in control of the things

Manipulated = we changed it

I believe we should be aloud to text in class when we have nothing else to do. I believe this because teachers let us listen to music so we are not listening but then they say we can't use our phones. I don't think phones are ANY more distracting then an iPod. If there came a point when we were using our phones when we were supposed to be working then the teachers could simply take away our phones!!!

I learned that gravity pulls down into the center of the eart. Mass is what something is made of and weight is how much gravity pulls down on you.

I learned that we use more energy then the 1930's. We produce 811 more pounds of carbon dioxide per day!

We can conserve energy with better insulation because the warmth or cold would stay in the house!

If you are going to touch or be around copper sulfate you should wear glasses and gloves. You need to be careful around uncontained electricity!Don't place stuff on top of electric cords.Don't put things by lamps. Don't fly a kite by power cords. Don't put forks in toasters.Don't pull a toy by the power cords.Don't use a hair dryer by water.Don't stick things into light sockets.

Electric things don't put carbon into the air.

A battery is a way to store chemical energy then put it in something else! Most light bulbs provide heat AND light. But lots of persons just want LIGHT! So they tried to make an all LIGHT lightbulb without heat!
