I think that the Capri sun, is going to make the egg become bigger. Therefore I think the liquid is hypertonic.

And I think that the chocolate milk isn't going to do anything. So I think it is isotonic.

The egg that we put in the chocolate milk weighed 69.17.

And the egg that we put in the Capri sun weighed 80.35.

After we left them in the liquids after a day, the egg in the chocolate milk, got bigger, so it's hypotonic. it went from 69.17 to the weight of 72.19.

The egg in the Capri sun also got bigger, so it is also hypotonic. It went from the weight of 80.35 to the weight of 86.34.

Week ten blogging challenge! :}

Article posted November 19, 2012 at 05:19 PM GMT0 • comment • Reads 535

Two students were having a discussion. One said,
This is my week ten blogging challenge question(:

"All cells are living things. Every cell in an Elodea plant is an organism, just like the one-celled paramecium we looked at."

The second student said,

"Well, you're partly right. I agree that all cells are living things, but an Elodea cell cannot be called an organism. The Elodea cells can't live on their own like a paramecium can."

What do you think about what these two students said? Who is correct? Why?

Explain your thinking.

Well I think the second kid is correct because all cells are living things. A paramecium is fully functioning organism. An Elodea cell is just one part of of a living thing so the cell isn't the entire living thing. But a paramecium is just one living cell and isn't part of something bigger therefore I believe that the second kid is correct(:

Are brine shrimp alive?(;

Article posted November 14, 2012 at 05:09 PM GMT0 • comment • Reads 496

This video is of brine shrimp. They're moving in this video. At about 9 second through the video in the top right hand corner a brine shrimp comes into you field of view and you can see it eat some food. You can kind of see it go through the body.

My lunchity lunch lunch!(;

Article posted November 6, 2012 at 05:19 PM GMT0 • comment • Reads 510

So we had to do this lunch activity where you take all the miles your food has traveled and convert it into carbon dioxide.
We had 40905.35 miles our whole entire lunch had traveled. That's equivalent 4.090535 elephants.
