my stream table project

As we started our sream project and doing our third trial i noticed that when we poured the water, the sream eroded the land as it flowed by making all kinds of wierd shapes. we found out that things such as trees and grass with all thier roots helped slow or stop erosion from happening.

What i learned about Weathering and erosion:
Abrasion: Wearing/Smoothing of material due to constant collitions.
Chemical Weathering:is the process by rocks being decomposed,dissolved and loosened by chemical material.
Exfoliation: peeling away of suface layers,caused by
changes in tempeture,pressure or vegitation.
Erosion:the wearing of the earthes surfaces.
some solutions for these problems are plant trees to hold the soil in place and keep the wind from moveing the soil from its possition.

what we did for earth day was we told people to try and bring less cars to school on earth day because it would help world pollution. We counted cars a couple days before earth day to see how many cars we had in our parking lot.We counted cars on earth day to see how many cars we lost during earth day. That means that we helped the pollution to not get worse.
