This class is for high school students at Winnebago Lutheran Academy who want to learn how to make music on computers. We use Audacity and Garageband as our main tools, and we have fun almost every single day figuring out how to make music using audio and MIDI, but we also learn how to record vocals and instruments and even play guitar and drums if we need to.
We keep personal blogs (look on the right column of this page and click on our names) to help us remember what we've been working on, keep track of the all the decisions that we've made on our projects, and to share with our family and friends the music that we've created.

In this project we were each given a radio show of a time period in which the Blues are described. I had the first episode called "The Birth of the Blues" in which it talked about what the Blues really is and how they came to be about. In my powerpoint I also have three videos of the beginning Blues artists and their songs which describe the technique that my radio show talked about.

In this video, we decided to chop out parts of the song I Like That by Chingy while still making it flow and seem like there is a beginning to the song, a middle, and an end, yet it is still a lot shorter.

In the U2 commercial, I replaced the original song with the song called Riot. I chose this song because in the commercial there is a guitar part and it went well with that. It also had drums and a good head beat to go along with it as well.

In this video i replaced the song they had with the song Yeah by Usher. I kept the little clicks and the door slam from the original track in there and I also replaced my voice with with the guys voice saying the same thing. I also used bass reduction so that when he got off his computer and onto his iPod the sound quality would sound a lot better. I also tried to find a song that goes with the guys head bangs well enough.

I replaced the original song with the song Magic. I also brought back the sound of the fans cheering in the original commercial along with the song Magic to add that extra emphasis. I did this by muting the entire original soundtrack up until the points where the fans cheer. I also chose the song Magic because the refrain says "I got the magic in me" and at the end of the gatorade commercial it said is it in you? so i thought that that would fit well.
