Survivor has been great, we did many challenges and I made it to the evil eight. We had original tribes which were Red, Maroon, Teal and Green. Then in the 3rd term we changed tribes then they were Chippewa , Ducks, Nerds and Pirates. Then we changed again it was pirates and the top ten. It has been really fun and it wil be something that I will always remember.
I learned a ton of Technology. Mr. Meyer had showed me a lot of stuff that I never even knew existed. I now have a blog, google docs, wiki, and a fliker photo page. Our photo page had almost all of the challenges on it. Our blogs we can write an article then post it to our blog so people all over the world can read it. The wiki is where we can post stuff to mr. meyer and he can read it and give us feedback. He also had a class called tech workshop and we got to make awesome movies.
Math was easy at the beginning but then it got really hard and we had to do things with fractions and decimals. We did do worksheets but not that many. Reading was fun and not fun at the same time. Fun because there was some really good books and I liked the group I was in but the not fun part was when I hated the book and did not like the people in my group. I did not like having to do book reports though unless I really liked my book. Spelling was relatively easy because I am good at spelling, we also have to do word cards and 5 times each, that on the other hand takes some time. At the end of each review chapter we had a spelling bee that is fun I really like those. English I do not like. We had to do DOL which you have to fix the sentence. We also did other worksheets about punctuation marks and other stuff. Writing was a lot of work. We did hoops dream essay's and lots of other writing thing and articles. Then there is social studies. We do test, definitions, worksheets, rafts, current events and we did a slideshow and podcast. Plus we have missing work lists thats shows all the work that you did not turn in and what grade you are getting, or you can just go to powerschool which shows all of your grades so you don't have to wait to get your report card. He puts something called positive patrol and pretty good squad and you get your name up if you have a failing grade or if Mr. Meyer thinks you can do better. I was up there once for being absent.
Guest teachers are rolling reader they come in and read us a book every week. Library is where we can check out books for reports or for fun reading. Music is where we play instruments, learn notes, and beats. Gym is really fun it is a good exercise, we also do fundraisers for people with heart problems.
My hardest moment will probably be having to leave Mr.Meyer and moving to 6th grade. It will be hard because I really like this year and it went by to fast. I will always remember Mr. Meyer and this year.

~~~~Topic~~~~ If their dad was there to support them would it have made a difference?
I think it would have made a HUGE difference because it would have been one more person to motivate them and help them be a better person. It also might have made their life better and they will actually liked it and not be mad at the world. It might have made William go professional and could have made him famous. It might help them be more confident also. It would help Arthur not be bad at many things and it would make him more responsible and he would try harder.
~~~~Topic~~~~ Did coach Pingator's yelling help William?
Yes I think it did because if he didn't he might have not tried as hard! And he wouldn't have made it that far!

T- What kind of Government did the United States constitution create?
Dear Diary,
Today the delegates are still writing the constitution and they are doing it very carefully! The authors of the constitution waanted to show that us people held the power of our country. They had to answer to the three branches of government, and they were legislative branch, executive branch, and the judicial branch. The preamble wanted to establish justice and peace within the country. They made the federal system which means the central government share power. Some powers were only given to the states though.Only the federal government have the power to declare war,coin money make treaties with other countries, run the post office and settle disputes with other countries. The states have power to set up public schools, local governments and run elections. But both federal government and states have the power to collect taxes and pass laws. They also made the checks and balances they evened out the powers between the federal government and the states because the federal government had to much power.

Edmond Randolph and William Paterson were in a warm, mucky church on the warmest day in July. The year was 1787. They were there to debate about the Virginia and the New Jersey Plan they were going to try to come up with a compromise. Neither of them thought that it would be this hard.
"I think that if a state has more population then they should have more of a voice. Why should a state with a little population have the same say as a state with a huge population?" said Edmond Randolph.
"I think that each state should have the same say no matter if they have a big population or not. Well the big states have a lot of slaves and they are treated as property not human beings so they should not count as a human being. said William Paterson.
Africans have rights... and might be given their freedom... someday. But, they are still humans. Replied Edmond Randolph.
"House of Representatives should elect the Senate too. Do you agree with this, the Executive Branch should enforce the laws, the Judicial Branch should interpret the laws, and the Legislative Branch should make the laws? said Edmond Randolph.
William Paterson replies yes, I agree with that.
Okay, do you agree with this too, the Legislative Branch should be based on population, the Senate should have two people from each state, and there should be three branch of government? Asked Edmond Randolph.
"Even though that plan is okay, I still think that the Virginia Plan is better." said Edmond Randolph.
Sure, I agree with that, says William Paterson.
"Well, I... I...I think your plan is... dumb and stupid and does not make sense." Said Edmond Randolph in a very angry voice.
"My plan makes just as much sense as yours does." In fact it makes more sense than yours does," replied William Paterson.
William Sherman, a patriot from Connecticut enters the room and immediately gets between the heated debate between William Patterson and Edmund Randolph. Things were getting very loud, and several delegates were looking on with dismay as it seemed the men would come to blows.
Hey guys, it seems like you both are getting a little hot under the collar. Take a minute to go for a walk and cool off, then we can talk about things.
Ok, are you guys ready to listen, because you've done enough talking. Here's what I've been thinking about. Both of you have some good ideas and some bad ones. I think that to make our new country strong, since the Articles of Confederation were so LAME, that we need to get this right. This is our second chance, and we can't mess it up.
William Patterson from New Jersey, I really like your idea of having each state with an equal number of representatives. That seems fair to everyone, and isn't our country founded on equality? If each state has the same number of votes then the smaller states will not feel slighted.
Oh, I know what you are going to say Edmund Randolph, "This isn't fair because we have more people." I hear you and also think that is the right thing to do by having population as the basis for representation. It would not be fair to have more people affected by laws without them having a fair share of "voice" in making the laws.
So, let's do this, create TWO PARTS for our legislature, one part called the Senate would give each state equal representation. This would make smaller states happy, while adding a House of Represntatives with it's membership based on population would be fair to the bigger states.
"What do you guys think?" "Well...." said Edmund Randolph. "I still think that..." interrupted William Patterson.
Nine days later after long debating it was put to a vote, and the good news spread as it passed five votes to four votes.
The bicameral (two parts) legislature was passed, and the basis for calculating population was decided that a census of the nation's population would be given every 10 years to account for changes. The last issue that was on the table as a sticking point was how to count enslaved African Americans as citizens. The South threatened to seced if they didn't get to count slaves as citizens. The Northern states knew this was a critical issue, but decided that creating a nation was more important than getting their way on the issue, and thus a compromise of counting each slave as 3/5 a person for population was struck. Slave trade would be ended by 1808, but many, many issues regarding slavery were not addressed at that time.

t-What was the result of the Great Compromise?
July 14, 1786
dear diary,
Today was not a good day! I absolutely hate the great compromise the people in the big states are bragging,snobs they are so mean! Ok so heres what had happened that made my life terrible, The Great Compromise the new congress has two separate houses, the House of Representatives and the Senate. The bigger states loved it because The House of Representatives is based on population which they liked and bragged in our faces. Well, I guess my day wasn't all bad though, The Senate helped us because each state will have two representatives that helped because then we bragged and rubbed it in their face. Well, that was my half good and half bad day today.

I think it is very interesting to see people from other states and how they do things different from us. We learned that they only have 13 kids in the class and there is only 1 teacher per grade level. I am very jealous because they get a laptop for each student. Instead of having to do worksheets they have a clicker that they just type in their answer and it shows up on the magic board. If I had a laptop in my class and everybody in the class had one it would be more fun to learn about things. I thought that was very cool and I would want to do it again.

R- HARRY NELSON/ A COLONIST
A-MYSELF
F-DIARY ENTRY
T-WHAT LED THE COLONIES TO REBEL AGAINST GREAT BRITAIN?
DEAR DIARY,
Today was not a good day the governor put an imaginary line along the Appalachian Mountains and said we weren't allowed to cross it or move land on it, after the french and indian war, I got so mad. Then it got worse they added a new tax. Me and all the other colonists told the British that parliament had no right to tax us without the votes of delegates in our own assemblies. This was taxation without representation, and it was tyranny. Tyranny means it is a cruel and unfair use of force or power. These and many other conflicts would soon lead the 13 colonies to rebel against the British government. Rebel means to refuse to obey those in charge because of different ideas about what is right. British thought that governing and defending it’s new and bigger empire was difficult but taxing the colonists seemed to be easier. In 1765 the Stamp Act was one of the first british laws that placed tax on the colonies. We had to pay tax every time they bought a newspaper, pamphlet, or a signed legal document. These things had to have a stamp on them showing that the tax had been paid. A man named Patrick Henry, a burgess from Virginia, spoke to the assembly. He said “anyone who paid the stamp tax was an enemy of Virginia. Another burgess accused Henry of treason. Treason is the betrayal of one’s country by giving help to one of it’s enemies. Henry said “if this be treason then make the most of it. Henry’s speech against the Stamp Act was later published in the colonial newspapers. These words inspired colonists to protest against the Stamp Act. Some colonists formed the Sons Of Liberty, they were people who organized protests against the British government. A man named Samuel Adams wrote articles for the boston newspaper attacking the stamp act. October of 1775 delegates from 9 colonies went to a stamp act congress. They said that the colonist were right about the tax, they had to have their consent. They demanded the stamp act to be cancelled or repealed. A year after they repealed the Stamp Act.

T-What were the results of the French and Indian War?
Dear Diary,
Today the British colonist started moving to the French’s territory. They started War, it was called the French and Indian War. George Washington was sent by the british to force French people to leave the Ohio River Valley . But, there the french built a fort called Fort Duquesne, where Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania stands today. When Washington came his troops attacked and defeated a small force of french soldiers near the fort in the woods. This started the War. Then, Washington’s troops quickly built a fort out of logs and named it Fort Necessity. Soon, a larger army attacked he fort from the French and Washington’s men were defeated. In 1755 British tried to attack Fort Duquesne with general Edward Braddock leading them. Braddock thought they would easily win the battle because the troop was so welly trained. As the British neared the fort Bullets started to come from no where . Braddock’s troops “broke and ran as sheep pursued by dogs”, Washington wrote. Braddock died four days later from wounds he received. Washington learned an important lesson that day the French were using Native American methods of warfare. They made unexpected attacks from behind trees, large rocks and anywhere they could hide. It was easy for the French to take aim because the British and colonial soldiers wore bright red jackets. Because British colonist out numbered them the French colonist welcomed the help of the Huron. Washington saw what valuable allies the Native Americans can be. The British asked the Iroquois for help. The Iroquois were not eager to help the british. When the French settlements were scattered British colonist had taken over much of the Iroquois land. A mohawk leader named Tiyanoga said “ you have disregarded us, thrown us behind your back. Still, the Iroquois wanted to join the British against their old enemies the French and Huron. In return the British promised to keep away colonist from Iroquois land. The French won one victory after another over the British until 1758. Then,Britain started to pour money into winning the War. It bought new equipment and sent more troops and it’s best generals to the colonies. The resources helped the Britain win the war. In 1762 the war began to stop, and France gave Spain much of Louisiana to keep it out of Britain's hands. The agreement included the city of New Orleans, a special port in the french fur trade. In 1763 France and Britain signed the treaty of Paris, which officially ended the french and Indian War. Great Britain gained most of France’s land’s in North America. Because Spain was an ally of France in the war, Britain gained the Spanish colony of Florida.
