Here is a poem~

The year has begone and I am having so much fun. From here to there to everywhere. I love my class we have so much fun but when the year is done I will cry and cry some more. I will miss all my friends when the year is done but the one I'll miss most is the one who taught Mr. Meyer!

This year has been so much fun in Mr.Meyer's class. We did survivor, tech workshop and work. Every year seems to go faster and faster. But this year went really fast because we had so much fun! At the beginning of the year we had 31 kids then we got a new kid so we had 32 kids. That's a lot of kids for Mr.Meyer to handle. But then after a month of that, Ms.Schindewolf said that she was going to ask people if they wanted to go into the new class and some of them wanted to but there wasn't enough kids for that class so she said that she was going to pull names from the classes. A lot of people were sad because you don't know if they were going to go into the new class or not. At the drawing of the names she said only the boys were going to get drawn. All the girls were so happy. But that caused a ruckuses for the parents of the boys. Soon we had three boys that had to move into the new class. That was sad. Also all the new people had to move into the class too. But forget about that. Think about the happy things like having challenges. Are first challenge was white river crossing. It was so much fun! I'll tell you how we did it. At the time we had 31 kids. Mr.Meyer had got some scooters and q-tips (plastic q-tips.) and we couldn't touch the floor. He put out some hula-hoops which were rocks we could stand on and wheel the scooters to the other person on the side of the gym. We all finally made it across with teamwork, because people could push you over to a rock or try and push you all the way across. That was so cool.We also had many more. But half way through Survivor I broke my tibia in my knee so I couldn't do any of the challenges. But I could do one that was fun. But we just don't do games we do a lot of work. We do math almost everyday and social studies. We do math worksheets, social studies worksheets, and spelling packets. He also makes you turn your work in because if you don't you get a missing worksheet which has all of your missing work. I like having missing work list because it makes you organized. Also in social studies we do Raft's  which R stands for role A stands for audience f stands for format and T stands for topic, we do pod casts, current events pod casts, definitions and some slide shows. Math is fun. We do 3-D math with cubes, bookwork, worksheets and some times does stuff on the ELMO. He also has us do sixth grade math. At 12:35 we go to specials. In the 2ND and 4Th term we go to gym and music and the 1st and 3rd term we go to science.I want to thank Mr.Meyer for all the fun times we had.

Thank you Mr.Meyer! :)

Sincerely,

Makala

T- What was the the result of the Great Compromise?

May, 1787

Dear diary,

Today was an exciting day in history! The Great Compromise changed my life completely. The Great Compromise was started in Philadelphia as a Constitutional Convention. The delegates were in a heated debate. Delegates that supported The Virgina Plan called for one house of Congress would be based on population. The large states liked this plan because it gave them more Representatives than smaller states. Of course, the small States did not like this plan because fewer representatives meant less power in Congress. The small states liked the New Jersey Plan which gave all states the same number of representatives. This debate between large and small states threatened to end the convention. Roger Sherman from Connecticut proposed what became known as the Great Compromise. In the Great Compromise the New Congress would have two separate houses. In the House of Representatives, the number of each state's representatives would be based on population, which the large states liked. In the Senate, Each state would have two representatives, which the small states liked.

Hoop Dreams Essay

    Topic: Was their dream foolish?

I don't think that their dream was foolish because they love basketball and they got to play it.  But they also had to work hard to get to play basketball. William got to go to Marquette because he had good grades and he was a good basketball player. Arthur got kicked out of St. Joe's because he didn't get good grades like William so he went to Marshall for school and played for their team.So really I don't think their dream was foolish.

T-How did the Constitution Work

The Town Times                                                                                        June 25,1886

You have to hear this...

Today I, Suzie Colman, had just how the Constitution works. I will tell you. Its a code of laws and a framework for government. The Constitution provides for amendments or additions to allow for changes. The Constitution protects the rights of individuals as well as states. The Constitution provides for three main branches of government-l legislative, executive, and judicial witch answers to the people and no one else. The Constitution Set up a federal system of government. In this type of system the states and the central government share power. The writers of the Constitution set up a system of checks and balances. This system keeps the power of one branch of government balanced by the powers of another. If one branch tried to use its powers wrongly, the other two could keep it under control. Congress may pass any law but the President can beto, or refuse to approve, that law. The Constitution balances feedom and power by creating a federal system of government. The government unites the states while sharing power with them. The people of each state elect representatives to run he state and federal governments. If the need arises, the people can amend the Constitution. Thank you for reading my article.

The Connections with Animal Farm and Anne Frank

Animal Farm and Anne Frank's diary connections

I'm am going to tell you that animals in animal  and Anne have a connection. The animals and Anne both feel like their lives were not fair. Anne's life was awful because she was a Jew and she lived in Germany and most Germans hated Jews. The animals on the farm, their life was run by Napoleon that wanted everything! So Napoleon took some dogs and told them to attack all the other animals. After that he told Boxer that he was going to the hospital but lied and he went to the glue factory.  Just like Anne's mom because they said she was going somewhere safe but they lied to her just like Boxer.  The jews also had to get forced to do stuff, like leave her family and get kicked out of school, and  they almost got killed at their house so now you can agree both lives are HORRIBLE!

The Great Debate
Eeyore dogman10
Virginia Plan- New Jersey Plan-
V P- We are bigger so we should have the House of Representatives be the Senate.
N J P- All of the small states added up together are bigger than your sate.
V P- Well, we have more people.
N J P- But we have no slaves counted.
V P- But the slaves will have the freedom... someday.
N J P- Well at least are slaves are free right now.
V P- But they are still human beings
N J P- Shouldn't votes be equal for all states and people since the country is known as UNITED STATES not united groups of people.
V P- But why should little states have more votes since less people live there?
N J P- It doesn't matter if you have more Representatives than us.
Roger Sherman- Virgian and New Jersey
R S- I think that you both have very good thoughts and I liked how you both gave points that aren't wrong.
V & N J- so.
R S- why don't you put both of your ideas together?
V& N J- good idea!

Eeyore's political cartoon

Article posted March 16, 2009 at 02:42 PM GMT-5 • comment • Reads 428

This cartoon is about jobs. There is a person near the top of the tree just cutting little branches and there is a guy a the bottom of the tree that is going to cut down the whole tree. The joke is that is the guy at the bottom of the tree is giving up on people getting jobs. But the person at the top is “not” giving up on people getting jobs. But the person on the bottom is going to cut the tree when the person at the top is still in the tree!

T- What Led The Colonies to Rebel Against Great Britain?

Dear Diary,

Today was so stressful because Great britain raised the taxes. I don’t really own money so I can’t pay them! My family is about to go scarce because of the taxes. I just can’t take it is too stressful! The raised it on paper, products and you have to pay fro stamps now. I am so skinny that I think tomorrow will be my last day alive! But I must try to survive because my family needs me, but we don’t have any money to buy food so we have to eat scraps out of the garbage! I just can’t wait until they go back to normal! I also have no job to earn money. We don’t really like the British now they were okay but now I hate them because they raised the taxes!
I will wright back tomorrow to tell you about the taxes and the British.I hope I can earn some money soon so we don’t have to get scraps out of the garbage anymore!
