My year of sixth grade so far...

Article posted December 23, 2009 at 02:36 PM GMT-5 • comment • Reads 1989

Sixth grade is very different than the fifth grade. I totalbiscuit, have moved on to the sixth grade but I still think fifth grade was the best year ever. That is why I started to blog again on the blog that my fifth grade teacher set up for me and my class last year. He was the best.

Now on to the sixth grade year. The best thing about middle school is the lunchs. They are so good! The worst part is not being able to be with all of your 'best' friends all the time. I dont even get to hang out with all of my best friends. The teachers are nice, but can be strict. But through the sixth grade other things have happened out side of school. I got a new puppy. He so much fun so hard tro take care of. I also got two teeth pulled because they were not comeing out. Had to do that because I am going to get braces. I also sepereated my ac in my sholder a little, so now I am out of wrestling for a while.

Now back to school. People have gone through so many changes. Some of my friends have gotton girlfriends, others are just the same. I have changed, I never liked to read. Now I can't keep books down. I have gone through three series of books since the end of fith grade. Sixth grade has turned out to be not so difficult, since my most favorite teacher Mr.Meyer, my fith grade teacher, prepared me.

That is about it for sixth grade, so seeya!

5th Grade memories-

I remember at the beginning of the year when we were doing our first challenge and doing our multiplication facts. It seemed like forever ago but it was only last September. That seemed like I was dumb and didn’t know anything but now my brain is packed full of stuffed we learned

Some other memories I have are of the big zoo lesson. That was also at the beginning of the year. That was a very fun time with all the animals. I had the Amur Tiger, now THAT was fun. Watching them play (all of the animals) was funny, and funny.

There are ALOT of fun stuff I’ve done this year; so much couldn’t name all of them! This year has been, hands down, this has been the best year of school I have ever had. One of the main things that has really made me smarter (that I wanted to learn) was a lot of Tec-no stuff, and has made me smarter about technology. Forgetting this year will be impossible. From the eggciting-eggsperiment, to right now has been a great adventure.

Doing Survivor has has taught me to have a lot of self-confidence in life, and a lot about life. Like it could change in a instant.

In reading I have read a TON of books this year. The Hunger games, City of Ember, The Quantum Prophecy  series, Where the Red Fern Grows, and The Lightning Thief. And a lot more. All those books were very good.

I love Social Studies. We have learned about the U.S.A. history, and other countries. From the Aztecs to the Revolutionary War. It was ssooo much fun!

In Math I have learned so much. From starting at the multiplication table to decimals, and fractions. So much it is just all crammed in there so tight!

Gym was one of my favorite classes. All of the running , and exercise was so much fun.

Music on the other hand, wasn’t so much fun. I really don’t like music but I got through it, and so did everyone else.

Even though there were some ups and downs, this was, and will, be the best year of school of my life.

My Heart in a Suitcase&Animal Farm

Article posted May 7, 2009 at 09:36 AM GMT-5 • comment • Reads 152

It all starts for Anne after WWI, and for the animals after the rebellion. It’s a hard time for the Jews. The same for the farm, the pigs are starting to take all control. The Nazi’s (or Hitler) is also doing the same thing but worse.

One day Anne’s teacher comes in wearing a Nazi symbol on her arm, a swastika. She said that there are going to be some changes. Anne is starting to see that they are losing there power, their say, their freedom. Same in the farm, all though most of the animals are to dumb to understand that they are using there freedom. But their are some animals that are smart enough to understand that they are.

Anne woke up in the middle of the night to a bunch of BANGS, BOOMS, and CRASHES! The Nazi’s where attacking there apartments! They were not attacked but they were attacked mentally, and they attacked their hope. After that the family lost all hope. In the farm when they were attacked by the framers. The farmers got their butt’s kicked. Just like the Jews. Also one morning in the Farm they woke up to one of the pigs changing the rules.

The mane thing is that Hitler is trying to take over. In the farm the pigs (manly Napoleon) was trying to take over.

But person/animal/country can change any thing. Or a couple animals, can change lives and many people or animals.

R-A person at the Constitutional Convention.
A-The public.
F-What kind of gov't did the U.S.A. Constitution create?
T- A news paper

CONSTITUTION APPROVED!
"New form of government," said Benjamin Franklin. "The system should give
us a new start. Thanks to the Checks and Balances. It makes sure that the one branch of the gov't doesn't get to powerful, then another branch can stop them," said Ben Franklin. If you are wonder the three branches of gov't are they are the Executive, Legislative, and Judaical. The Executive branch is the President, he enforces the laws, and is the commander and chief. The Legislative branch elects Congress and approves spending and taxes. The Judicial branch is the supreme court and other federal courts. They explain the laws.

Hoop Dreams Essay.

Question-What would have happened if Earl Smith hadn’t found Arthur Agee and William Gates?

Arthur Agee-It starts as Arthur still as a 8th grader. He doesn’t know Earl Smith. He is at home thinking about what to do for the weekend. He decides to go down to the park/bball court to shoot some hoops. So his dad has to go down there with him. While he is down there his dad disappears he finds him walking into an alley, so he decides to follow him. He follows him into a alley where he sees him trading money for drugs. Right then Arthur lost all faith in his father. Then he ran home. His father came out of the alley looking for his son but didn’t find. So his father ran home and found his son crying on the coach next to his mom. He says "what's the matter? I think you know" said his mom. I thought that I trusted you!" said Arthur. "Well... no but's, now get out of my house! said Arthur's mom. "WHAT! You can't do that! It is my house, I paid for it! So get out!" His father slammed the door behind him. Arthur life was NEVER the same again. He has always had a hard time talking to his dad ever since then. Arthur was just kick out of his school because his mom could not afford to keep him in school, because his dad left. So now his mother is in nursing school trying to get her nursing degree, so far she is doing great, let's hope that it keeps up. Arthur's life was never the same again. (This might have been have a result of what would have happened.)

William Gates- What should I do now? Thought William as he laid down on his bed and thought of what to do for the weekend. He thought that he might go down to his dad's shop and say hi. But his dad hadn't talked to him in over three years. So he thought that it might not be the best idea. So he deiced to take a nap for a bit. He was woken up by his mom. She said that his dad wanted to talk to him. So i guess that he was going to see him after all. So he walks down to the shop and his dad says he has some good news. He was getting back together with his family! William was so excited that he gave his dad a hug. His dad started to cry. After his dad moved back in with them, his dad was not hanging out with the family as much as William hoped. So one night his dad ask if he wanted to got o the movies. William was just shocked! He had never gone to the movies before! When they went Williams dad had to keep 'going' to the bathroom. So when William was going to go with him, his dad got all defensive and said that he shouldn't come. William asked why. His dad said the bathrooms 'smelled bad'. But he said he could man it out. But his dad told him to stay. But William snuck out and saw his dad kissing another woman. William charged out and said "you ='http://." Then William punched his dad in the face and ran out, started the car, and drove home! He isn't even eligible to drive! After that William told his mom, and she locked all thee widows and doors, and burnt his stuff. William never saw his dad again. (That is also might of what would have happened.)

The Great Compromise

Article posted April 27, 2009 at 10:16 AM GMT-5 • comment • Reads 259

V- All states representatives should be based on population.
NJ- I think that all states should be equal and have the same amount of representatives!
RS- I purpose that we come up with a great Compromise.
V- What do you think about slaves Roger Sherman?
RS- We shall count all slaves as three fifths of a citizen.
V- New Jersey?
NJ-  Big states have lots of slaves and are counting them as citizens of population.
V- That is not fair! Slaves should not be treated as property! They may get their freedom some day so we need to treat them as people. We need to end the slave trade once and for all!
RS- I say we end the slave trade in 1808!
V- Yes!
NJ- How can that be fair if slaves are treated like property but they still want to count them as “ people” for voting? Slaves have no rights!
V- African americans DO HAVE SOME RIGHTS! They might get there freedom again... someday. But they are still HUMAN BEINGS!
NJ- NO! LIAR!
V- Roger?
RS-Slaves should be freed but the south says that slaves should still be here and so do the big states, not including Pennsylvania though.
NJ- SLAVES HAVE NO RIGHTS! But the slave trade should end, Roger Sherman and Virginia Plan.
V- We need to separate the powers by breaking the government into three separate but equal parts. The Executive Branch, the Legislative Branch, and the Judicial Branch.
NJ- Good but still I don’t like it.
RS- It is a great idea but I suggest that we make the checks and balances.
V- Yes, each branch has certain powers that can control others but also weaknesses.
NJ- I think that it is a good idea, but tell me more details.
V- I one branch starts to take over,
RS- The others will stop them.
V- Exactly!
NJ- But, I still think that the Virginia plan is bogus!
V- So, what do you have in mind?
NJ- All states should have equal representatives and should be equal to the other states that have a larger population than us. The larger states have no right to have more representatives than the smaller states!
V- Objection!
NJ- Shut Up! What do you have in mind?
V- All states that have a large population should have more representatives than smaller states, because they have a smaller population!
RS- How ‘bout we all agree on one thing so we can be happy!
NJ- FOR THE LAST TIME... that is kind of a good idea.
RS- EXACTLY! HAVE YOU BEEN IGNORING ME!
V AND NJ- maybe...
V- I knew my plan will be at the top!
RS- So we all agree on it!
NJ- I NEVER SAID THAT! SHUT UP SO I CAN TALK!
V- Well then!
NJ- You ***! My plan is right!
RS- NO need to be cussing fellow friends!
V- Who said were friends ='http://!
RS- We are a country here people!
NJ- I want to go back to king George!
Everyone in room- Shocked! “Huh!”
NJ- I meant that if we don’t agree on something, we should just be stuck with the king George and pay over priced taxes!
RS- How about we take some of the New Jersey Plan and the Virginia Plan and make a good government! We will call this meeting The Great Compromise! Slaves will be discussed here and we will write it all down on a piece of paper and will be called the Constitution. Many people will sign it. Do we agree?
Every one in room- Yes!

V- Virginia Plan        NJ- New Jersey Plan          RS- Roger Sherman/ Great Compromise

R- A person editing the New Jersey Plan
A- The Constitutional Convention
F- A Debate
T-What was the result of the Great Comprise?

This not fair I said. It makes perfect sense said Nathan from Virginia. The bigger states with more people get more representatives. That means that you have more power than the other states. SO! That means nothing to the public. It means something to the people of the smaller states. As you can see that the people of New Jersey and Virginia locked in a in a battle. They have arguing on wether to go with the New Jersey Plan, or the Virginia Plan. Alright said George Washington. We shall vote on wether to go with the New Jersey Plan or Virginia’s. So all those who want Virginia’s Plan say I. 15 of them stood up. All those that want New Jersey’s say I. The rest out of 55 stood up. It is settled then we will go with New Jersey’s, now the senators shall meet anedit it.

One Day later...

Man this is hard, said senator bernes. I know I said. You guys should just give up and forget about it, said senator allen. What ever I said. Maybe I should just light it on fire? You do and your in jail...

My dream is...

My dream is...

“SWEET!” yelled my mom and dad as I came down t hug them. I had finally got my surgeons degree from M.S.U.! It was a masters degree! Now I could finally get a real job and move to a better place (even though the economy was good in Michigan.) More people hurt/sick which means more money, which means happy me!

One year later...

"This is the life," I said to my self as I was laying next to my pool in L.A. California. "I better get in before I go my 48 hour shift at the hospital. "Hey honey"said my wife Marissa, as she walked out of the HUGE house. "Hey sweet thang" she said. "I just wanted to say bye before you leave for work. Thanks honey," I said.

48 hours later...

"Man, that was a hard shift," I said to myself as I was entering the house. "what's wrong?" said Marissa. "I had to do a 24 hour surgery to save a life, and I'm TIRED! How great, I know it's just so tiring. But you know what, what? I got a huge pay for it, now we have enough to go Italy!" Yes it has always been my dream to go to Italy, now we have enough! So we are packing for the flight when I forgot to fill out some papers back at the hospital. So I go down there and I'm looking like mad but I can't find them! But while I'm looking I find a picture of the fifth grade on Meyer Island. "Man I wish I could see all of them again, just once." Then all of a sudden the doors to the lobby burst open and all the people yelled "TRISTAN!" It was a total miracle. All of my friends from Fifth grade. They said they were going to Italy for a fifth grade

The skype

Article posted March 2, 2009 at 11:51 AM GMT-5 • comment • Reads 349

I thought the skype was totally cool! Seeing kids in another state, taking to them it’s so cool. But I am also so envy of them, they each get their own laptop. That is insane! (But they only have 100+ kids in their school.) While our school has 500+ kids. Also that they have a smart board with their clickers that they just type the answer in and it appers on the board. They also have a 30 min bus ride, that is short! Well for us. That is why it was cool.

R-Christopher Charles.
A-The public.
F- A speech.
T-What led the colonies to rebel against Great Britain.

“Listen Boston, I am here to tell all you people that don’t know why we are rebelling against Britain. Ever since we have come to America they have thrown us to the curb. They fought a war that we didn’t care about and did not have a part in, and now they want us to pay for it? That is unfair! Then they decide to do the Stamp Act taxing us on paper, legal documents, and playing cards, pamphlets, and newspapers, ahhhhhhh… RIP OFF! Ok so they repeal it big deal. Then come something that is worse the Townshend Acts, which is taxing us on ever day goods. So we sign a petition saying we hate it! So they make the Intolerable to close down the harbor and make u house British soldiers. So that is why we are rebelling against Great Britain.”
