The Hero on a Rope

Harold is a typical man visiting the bank to deposit some money. Looking into the clear glass door, a man wearing a black mask was holding a gun. "Maybe I'll go to the other bank," he thought.

Just as he turned, two police cars were speeding down the street. He looked back at the bank and the black masked man was gone. Where did he go?

Three policemen were outside of the bank and two were holding guns. BANG! A policeman fired at him. Harold rushed into the bank. He knew if he stayed out there he would be shot. The stairs were blocked with an "Employee's Only" sign. It was the only way to get away. Running up the stairs, he saw the black masked man enter a room. All the rooms were locked, so he had to find a new way to escape. He scanned the hallway and found a way leading to the roof.

On the roof,  he could get a view of the town, Springfield. Policemen were heard yelling "He went this way!" A metal pole was in front of him and a rope leading to an apartment. It was the only way out of this mess. Harold had never tightroped before, but overall he had good balance. Slowly moving to keep himself balanced, a pigeon then flew towards him. It landed right on the pole!

Harold was tipping over. He fell off. With the rest of his strength, he grabbed onto the rope. Harold's fingers were holding on. Looking down, he could see speeding cars on Spooner Street. People were yelling. "Is he crazy? Oh my gosh!"

The black masked man appeared on the bank with a knife. He was cutting the rope. Harold went flying into a window!

The room was dark. Harold found a way out of the room and found himself in a pitch black hallway. He could not see anything.

Just then, a loud scream was heard. Harold was rushing down the stairs at the end of the dark hallway. More screams were heard. "AHHH! Help me!"

Harold exited the building, and saw the black masked man in the bank with a gun pointed at an innocent girl.

The brown haired girl looked about 11 years old. Tears were in her eyes. The police arrived, and were negotiating with the black masked man.

Harold had to do something. He ran into the apartment that he just left. Running up the stairs, he reached the roof. He just remembered the rope was cut my the black masked man. The building beside him had a rope attached to the bank, but he could not make that jump. It was about a 12 feet jump. Searching the room, he found a rope. Harold threw the rope around the chimney on the other building. He then tied it to the other chimney. A small tightrope challenge was in front of him.

Step by step, Harold moved slowly to keep his balance. A heavy wind came, and it blew the rope. Harold lost his balance, but at the last second he leaped to the building. He was hanging off the side of the tall building. When he looked back at the bank, Harold could see the poor little girl and the black masked man. Harold pushed himself onto the building, and rested for a bit. He had to do one more tightrope, to save the girl. He took a deep breath, and began. Harold was thinking " I've done this before, and I can do this again."

The winds were strong and it blew the rope. Harold was doomed. He was falling down. His eyes were closed, wanting this to all end. A miracle had just happened. Harold fell onto a bus. The bus had just stopped where he fell. He climbed back onto the building. Harold was given a second chance. The winds calmed, so now he can make it accross. At this point, the girl was tied up. Luckily, there was a pole he could use to help him balance. A pigeon flew by. Was this the end?

Harold dropped the pole, and the pigeon flew away. He made it accross. He reached the bank, and rushed down the steps. The black masked man was facing the police. With all of his strength, Harold attacked the man. The police came in to help. He knocked the gun out of the masked man. The police arrested the man and drove away. People were cheering for Harold. "Yay! A hero!"

Harold went home as a hero.
