Kate Sheppard

Kate Sheppard spent her life trying to say that ladies should be equal with men. She was born in Liverpool on March the 10th in 1848. When she was 20 years old she arrived in New Zealand.

Career
She made dresses and became a famous New Zealand. her father was a lawyer and his name was Andrew Malcolm and her mother was called Jemime.

Childhood
Kate had one older brother and one older sister. A younger sister and brother were born later when the family moved to London. Kate was sent to live with her Uncle who was the minister of the Free Church, north coast of Auckland.

Later Life
Kate’s main goal was to obtain the right for women to vote and elect members of parliament and a government.
Kate got married a successful business man and had a little baby boy. Her husband is called William Lovell Smith. Kate Sheppard died on July 16th 1934 at the age of 86. Kate had a successful life.
