When I Fell in the Pool

          When I woke up on a cold, winter day in Riad, Saudi Arabia, I went to my mom’s room. I asked her if I could have a walk. She said, “yes, but first have some breakfast.” When I was done having breakfast, I asked my mom if I could now have a walk. When I was done, I asked my mom if she could invite my cousins over. She said, “Yes.”

When my cousins came, Sultan went outside and ran to shoot the ball in the yard beside the pool. I was watching him play. My cousin said, “Go get the ball.” I ran to catch it, I tripped and fell into the pool. I was wearing my jeans and found it hard to swim. I tried my best and got to the corner of the pool. I was thinking that I needed air as I sank toward the bottom of the pool. I jumped up to the surface to get some air and then my nanny helped me up. “Be careful,” said my nanny. My cousin and I were laughing. My friends also started to laugh. My cousin, Sultan said, “Now you need to go take a bath!” I walked to the house with a towel around me so I could go take a bath.

          When I got done with my bath, I saw my friend’s mom downstairs and she asked me, “Why didn’t you continue to swim?” I said, “I didn’t because it was so cold!”
