I was excited on the morning of our writer's workshop celebration, and after all of the preparation our class had done, I was sure it was going to be lots of fun and a sure success. After greeting the parents, everyone settled into their chairs and I talked to them a bit about how the writer's workshop actually works and about all of the effort that goes into the students' personal narratives and nonfiction pages. The students and parents were then divided into groups to view their child's work. I was very happy to see the pride in each face as the children shared their work!
