He did now that he wouldn’t survive in the open in a freezing, biting winter’s night. He saw an obscured, blurred light coming from a decayed, old fashioned house. The bizarre, abnormal owner gave him a piece of hot roast and a bottle of hot Milo. He got told a story about a mail carrier that had been travelling through a blustery, gale blizzard the horses had slipped then the driver screamed as they had topped over a cliff next to the crossroad and six men died. He had thought that was a terrifying story. The weather was brighter so he set off again. The owner of the house had told him that when he gets to the crossroad the coach would pick him up. But it took him a full hour to get to the crossroads. A few minutes later the ghostly, gloomy coach had picked him up. He had asked for a lift the speechless, muted, wordless drivers nodded the bus was as dark as the inside of a deep dark cave at midnight on a biting dim night. He tried to make an exciting, thrilling, stirring conversation. But he couldn’t but so suddenly he heard screaming as if he was flying through the air and passed out. He had woking up in a warm, intense bed two day later. But had a terrifying nightmare in a snowdrift when he had passed out in the exact spot where the mail carrier had crashed there three years ago.

The Maxwell family have been looking forward to an overnight stay in a beautiful, neat, tidy cottage in the countryside. They all let out a huge “Wow” as the cottage came into view. It looked like it was built in the middle ages. The youngest child yelled “that scarecrow looks scary.” Connor sighed, “it’s just hay, really son, some scarecrows are cotton.” The cottage was last owned by the Maxwell’s grandparents. The phone rings. Conner answers it. He hears breathing on the other side of the phone. He hangs up. There is a knock on the door. Conner looks out the window on the door. He sees that there is nothing there! Conner is more scared. He cannot wait till the family gets home. The scarecrow is standing looking through the battered window. The oldest child is completely terrified. The phone rings again. He heard crazed, raving in the background…..yes it was real.
