A Great Introductory to Sailing
A great way to spend the afternoon on a hot summer day is to pull out a good sturdy sailing boat.
There are a lot of different kinds of sailing boats made for a variety of weather conditions and depending on how good you are at sailing. Dingy Boat: A dingy boat is the first boat a person uses when he or she is learning to sail. It is made especially for light wind. A small Sailboat: is a practical way to go out on a little trip out into the ocean where there is a little more breeze. Large Sailboat however, made for long trips, continent to continent or even around the world.
The first things to learn are the different wind directions. When the wind blows from the right or the left the boat will move forward. During the time when the wind is coming from the front or the back the boat will neither move forward neither backward. Sometimes the wind won’t blow so hard, it is definitely not recommended to sail during that time because your boat will not move at all.
There are quite a few different parts of the boat to learn and to understand their functions. From the first time to the last time you are in a sail boat you will notice a little bar at the end of the boat. This stick controls the movement of the boat. When you turn the stick to the right you will go left. When you turn the stick to the left you will go to the right. To make the boat go faster there will be a small cord attached to the sail. Grab hold of the cord with your right hand (depending if you are on the right side) and pull it to take the sail inward thus making the boat going faster. To slow down, let go of the rope. You might see a little board in the middle of the boat that is sticking from the boat into the water in the center of the vessel. Always keep that board pushed down. This little board prevents your boat to capsize, because if there was no board there the wind would push the boat over so the board stays there so that when the wind blows onto the sail the board will keep the boat stabilized.
Before you actually sail, you need to know hot to handle a sail boat. Getting into the boat is easy, just grab hold of the boat on the side and pull yourself onboard. Take the stick in the rear and control the vessel. When you reach the place you want to turn crouch down into the boat and turn the stick all the way to the right making a tack. Once you are finished and want to get out the boat you must be sure that the front of the boat must be facing towards the wind which makes the boat stop. Jump out and hold onto the boat whilst swimming towards the shore.
See. You can make sailing sport .Thanks to these to these tips and that’s not it, sailing is a very healthy lifestyle to get accustomed to.file:///C:/Users/10-2003/AppData/Local/Temp/msohtmlclip1/01/clip_image002.jpg" alt="Description: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/e/e2/Small_sailboat_on_Lake_Union_01.jpg" v:shapes="Picture_x0020_1" />

Getting Lost
“So ”says Scott.”How was school this year” ?”It was good ”I say. ”You can go up ahead I need to tie my shoe lace ”says Scott ”Okay ”I say ”see you at the campsite”.
So the reader is wondering who? What? Where? I will tell you everything. First of all Scott is my uncle, my dad’s brother. I am on a camping trip with my dad ,my sister,, two of my cousins, my uncle , afriend and …Myself. We are in Sequoia National Park in California. All this scenery dazzles me and will for you too. So,let me take you from where we left off.
“Crunch””Crunch””Crunch” as I step into a pile of pine needles and grasses. The air is wonderfully cool and crispy, the breeze perfectly touching my skin. I take off my backpack, zip the second to last pocket on my backpack, and take out some hiking necessities, a pocket knife, a sweatshirt, some rope,a piece of red plastic and a peach. I take my pocket knife and dig a small whole and put the piece of red plastic into the ground, letting the others know that I was ok. I take the rope and tie one end to my backpack and one end to my pocket knife letting it droop down. I put on my sweatshirt feeling wonderfully cozy.I put my backpack on ,strapping it on to my stomach and start walking. I take a bite out of my peach. The ripe tender muscle of the peach makes my mouth tinkle with enjoyment. My whole body feels great.I have a sudden rush of adrenaline.I start running.I run and I run and I run until it feels like my lungs are going to explode. In front of me comes a fork in the road.I remember coming here before, but I don’t remember which road to take.I don’t want to wait.Scott is still a long way away and there are mountain lions and other creatures prowling the area.I decide to make a random guess.I decide to take the trail to the right. The trail leading down.It starts to get dark and it rains.I throw on a heavy parka. After I take out my flash light , and I walk into the darkness afraid and very hungry for grilled food.I start to hear little noises. I don’t know if I amhallucinating.Slowly, I crawl down the path to see what is ahead.I quicly poke my head out and check where the noises are coming from.I almost scream.Right in front of me is a family of brown bears. The bears do not look angry , but they look hungry. I hurry back to my bag.I quickly grab it and run down the face of the mountain, the trail is comepletely hidden from me now.It is very dark and the only light is coming from my digital watch. You cant even see the moon under all the pine trees. My breath comes in nsmall gasps that echo around the valley.I am very weary from all the hiking and feel like lying down in my warm tent under my cozy blanket.I hope that the others realize that I am missing.
Meanwhile back at the campsite…
“Hey guys” says Fauna.”Hey”says Kalina.”Is this everyone.””Aren’t we missing someone?”says Funua”Wer’e missing Tristan “exclaims my dad.
I wonder what to do!I feel lost and I am tired ,hungry and thirsty.Suddenly,I hear noises in the distance.People yelling.I jump up and down realizing that it is Scott.
Back at the campsite…
I feel myself being laid down into my tent, the covers being thrown over me and that is the last thing that I remember of that day.
