This I Believe

Article posted June 8, 2010 at 11:01 AM GMT-8 • comment • Reads 181

I believe that my life is worth fighting for. I believe that a perfect day is a day with no arguing, no bothering people, no annoying and no frowns. I believe that all people have talent but it is taken away by the people they lookup to. I believe the nicest thing you can do for someone is to always defend them when they need it and not expect anything back. I believe the most important thing in the world is family.

I finally finished my state report sorry that I didn't inform you when we started but we have been soooo busy. Anyway I picked Indiana  and did a page on Economy, Geography , History and Citizens and made it into a book and got a 3. (That's right at grade level)! Have you ever done a state report and if so which state did you pick?

James Buchanan

My class is doing a report on presidents and i picked James Buchanan. We get to do our own presentation and we get to pick what kind of presentation it is. We can't work in groups though.  Have you ever done a presentation on a president and if so which one. I found out that james buchanan was voted the worst president of all time. I can't believe that I picked a president that I knew nothing about! We finished our project and I did a powerpoint.

Roll Of Thunder Hear My Cry

Article posted March 11, 2010 at 09:48 AM GMT-8 • comment • Reads 205

My book club has decided to read the book Roll Of Thunder Hear My Cry. I think that it is about a family farm that burned down and  three kids are the only survivors but there trying to survive. Have you read this book? I have started reading Roll Of Thunder Hear My Cry and I am on page 35 and they aren't allowed to ride the bus on the way to school because they are black so they have to walk infact the bus actually drove through a mud puddle and got them all dirty. The books that they got were all dirty and soiled in there worst condition. And when they complained the teacher would beat them (It was in the 1930-1940) with a paddle. So  there mom (the schoolteacher) pasted over the pages with clean ones. She got fired because she spoke against slavery. There was a big fire in there cottonfield and T.J. (a friend) died and got hung by racist white people.

The Giver

Article posted February 9, 2010 at 09:54 AM GMT-8 • comment (2) • Reads 287

The Giver is a very interesting read so far you just can't put it down. It is by Lois Lowry. Try reading it sometime. Engoy this link. I'm now on page 60 and jonas is going into the ceremony of twelves but they forgot all about him what will happen next? If you think you know what will happen next and havent read the book please leave a comment. Now Jonas was at the ceremony of twelves but he was not assigned a job he was the reciever of the memory. He can now lie ask anybody a question about anything and get an answer but of course there is a downside to all this he has to train all the time and tell nobody at all what happens. What will happen next??? Now he met the giver (the old reciever of memory) and he is training Jonas now and the giver takes Jonas on spiritual journeys of sledding in snow and the beach.
