A Bobcat Hunt

A Bobcat Hunt

Johnny was a boy that really wanted to shoot a huge bobcat. He got calls for his birthday and a treestand for christmas so he was all set to go shoot that huge cat. He had the treestand set up on the edge of a field with some multiflour rose and woods surrounding it.

In the afternoon Johnny went and set up his electric call and decoy in the field and climbed into his stand. He seemed to be one of the happiest kids alive. He sat there all afternoon calling and waiting on a cat. When it started getting dark he decided he better get out of there while he could still see. Johnny continued to go out hunting every chance he got for a week.

One night he went out and he saw something in the distance but couldn't tell what it was before it was gone. Then about fifteen minutes later a bobcat came sneaking up over the knole. He slowly raised the gun and got the cat in the crossairs. At the time the cat was about two hundred yards away and his decoy and call was only fifty yards away. He decided to let the cat come in closer. When the cat got to be about one hundred twenty-five yards away he couldn't wait any longer. Bang! he shot and the cat took off.

Now Johnny had to go look and see if he hit the cat and decide what to do. He got out of the stand and walked down to wear he had shot. At this point his adrenaline was racing through his body like New York City. When he got to were he shot he found some blood about ten yards away so he continued to track the cat. Coming along the knole the bobcat came from he looked down and there lay the magnifiscient beast.

The cat turned out to weigh thirty-four pounds which is a good sized bobcat. Now Johnny was definately the happiest kid in the county. He had persisted and hunted for the bobcat and now he had the cat to prove he could do it.

The Death Of Sir Brunton

Article posted November 15, 2011 at 01:45 PM GMT0 • comment • Reads 1257

Did Brunton die on purpose? I don’t think he did. Did Rachel plan to kill him and kill him on purpose, or was it all an accident. I believe Rachel was guilty of silence about Brunton’s death. It can’t be proved, but can be inferred from the story.
Brunton and Rachel had once been engaged. Rachel must have helped Brunton get in. I believe she just got scared when the rock slipped and they couldn’t get it up. The stone was so heavy Sherlock and a big police officer was barely able to get it up. I don’t think Rachel and Brunton who appear to be of small to normal size could have done it. The wood pieces seem to be crushed like they gave out. How else would they all be crushed like they were? Rachel also took off after Brunton’s death. In every good mystery movie the guilty one leaves the scene.
The tragic event could have gone another way. Rachel could have been a calculating murderer who’s opposing as a crazy person to cover up. I read a quote that applies to how Rachel must of felt. It says “What is the opposite of two? A lonely me, a lonely you” (Heartache Quotes) know Rachel was guilty about it though because the next morning she was running around all weird and suspicious.
If you’re innocent do you run away? Rachel didn’t tell anybody she was leaving and she left. In all the CSI movies if somebody left the seen there guilty (CSI). Rachel was paranoid the after Brunton’s disappearance. That leads me to believe she ran from guilt and to avoid punishment for her horrible crime.
I have read and reread the Musgrave Ritual along with annotating it. I still believe Rachel is guilty of silence about Brunton’s death. From the rock incident and the way she acted the day after she must have been there helping him. Then she left the crime scene. If you’re innocent wouldn’t you stay and prove it?

Remember hunting in the woods? Do you enjoy hunting? Wouldn't you like to shoot a monster deer with a bow? If you would like to be a successful archery hunter, I have some tips that might be helpful to you. First it's nice to do some scouting and set up stands or pick out spots where your going to sit while hunting. Then you should practice being sent free. There's anything from body soap to spray products out there to help you. The cheapest thing is to make sure you hang your clothes outside for four to ten days before your hunt. Once you get a bow, you'll be ready for opening day. You'll want to try your best to get to your stand in the dark so you don't scare the deer as bad. A key trick for getting to your hunting spot is you wanna scare as little deer as you can and only walk where you think the deer won't go. This is important because deer can smell very well and if they walk over your trail there probobly going to smell you and go somewhere else. Then at your spot it's good to have a head net or face paint along with gloves because skin will make you stick out where camo will blend in with your surroudings to the deers eys. After practicing these tips you should have a good chance at being successful and the best of luck to you.

Pay Attention to Me!

Pay Attention to Me

Attention Getter #1: Questions

What type or punishment works the best? Should punishments be harsh and hope they’ll learn the first time or should they be lenient and hope they get it? Is physical punishment better than putting them in a time out surrounding where they can think about what they did? Applying physical punishment would cause better behavior, more respect, and embarrassment to the student who broke the rules.

Attention Getter #2: Anecdote

Once upon a time in a faraway place in the middle of the woods a story unraveled. There was a family with a mother and three pigs. The pigs were old enough they had to go out on their own and make a life for themselves. First they had to build houses and avoid the big bad wolf. The littlest pig equals the bravest because he lives in the weakest house, ran from the wolf the most, and teamed up with his big brothers to defend himself.

Theme of The Djinn Who Lives Between Night and Day

Article posted October 5, 2011 at 01:40 PM GMT0 • comment (2) • Reads 1349

Theme

I believe a good theme for this story is "Don't judge a book by it's cover." It applies good to the story because the other Djinn is very mean and plays pranks on people. Therefore, most people would think all Djinn's are mean. The main character is also a Djinn but he's nice and helps the man in town. Don't judge a book by it's cover applies to real life with all the racist and sexist people out there just because one white person does one thing don't mean the next is the same.

Directions from Blue Ridge School to Elk Lake School

When going to Elk Lake from Blue Ridge it's nice to have directions if u don't know your way. First you go northeast on Pa-2026 toward hartford for 0.05 miles. Then you turn left on Pa 848, and go 1.2 miles. Next you'll turn left on Main Street U.S-11 and go for 1 mile. After that you take a slight right on the road 706, and drive for 2.7 miles. You'll have to take a slight left to stay on 706, and continue for 5.8 miles. After that, you take a left on South Main Street or PA-29 and continue driving for 6.3 miles.

Finally,  you just turn right on PA-3023 and go for 0.01 miles and you should be at the wonderful school of Elk Lake you should see a play ground on one side with a track on the other side and a sign that says Elk Lake School on it. I hope my directions will help you get from Blue Ridge School to Elk Lake School.

A Visual Representation of me Project

Hi my name is Wyatt Warner, and I live on a farm with my brother, two younger sisters and parents. First I chose a picture of a smiley face with sunglasses to show my personality. I think this is a good represention of me because I try to be happy and chill. Then I chose a picture of Gary Paulsen because I like all of his books. After that I chose a picture of Syracuse basketball because I love to play basketball and Syracuse is my favorite team. My last picture is of me and the two gobblers I shot this spring. I like that picture because I love hunting and thought it was cool that I got two with one shot. My quote reads "And to get real work experience, you need a job, and most jobs will require you to have had either real work experience or a graduate degree." I like this quote because it helps give a reason for coming to school and trying to do work in your classes. Thank you for listening to my visual representation or me project.
