Lesson Learned

Lesson Learned
One big lesson I have learned so far in life would be, if you are patient you will get farther in life. Impatiens could be a major setback.
It was a very snowy Saturday, I was at detention. My teacher was Mr. Slick, I was his only student. On Saturday detentions you show up at 8:00 a.m. and stay until noon.
Mr. Slick was doing his teacher work stuff, and I was drawling pictures of things blowing up. When 12: 00 rolled around we both gathered our belongings and headed towards the exit. As we approached the doors we discovered that we were snowed in. simultaneously, we both stated “I’m stuck with you!?”
Unable to open the doors due to the fact that they were pinned shut by hundreds of pounds of snow, we both returned to his classroom. Around 1:00 we both started to get hungry. We couldn’t leave, so whilst brainstorming we agreed that the cafeteria had gross food, and we didn’t want to walk all the way to the career and technology center. Suddenly, “light bulb!” we could always go to Mrs. Swartleys room!
So we started running through the school, unlocking gates and switching on lights. As we approached her classroom, I reached into my purse and grabbed the butter knife I keep on hand at all times, (just in case u need to… uhh… spread something? Yeah.) and bust in.
Whilst raiding the fridgerator and cabinets Mr. Slick found cookie dough. I went to the cabinets and pulled out a cookie sheet then proceeded to pre-heating the oven to 350 degrees. After about 5 minutes the oven was all warmed up and ready for the cookies. We greased to cookie sheet then placed the dollops of cookie dough on the tray in perfect lines. I set the timer, and now we wait.
Mr. Slick, rather impatient, was raiding the cupboards for something to do while he waited for the cookies to get finished. On the other hand, I was looking for napkins and milk, got to make sure we have every ready before the cookies are finished.
BUUUZZZZZZ=http://! (the timer goes off) Cookies are ready! Mr. Slick bolts from his seat, straight to the oven. I try to tell him to wait for me to get him oven mitts, but he doesn’t hear me, he’s way too focused on getting those cookies put of the oven.
He rips the oven door open and reached in un-protected, he grabbed right on to the scolding hot cookie sheet, and cried in pain. He dropped the cookie sheet on top of the stove and ran to the sink, running cold tap water over his burns.
I close the oven and shut it off, then go over to the sink to look over Mr. Slicks hands. “Hmm.. got yourself good this time huh? That’s what you get for being impatient.” He sighed and agreed with me. I got him a bag of ice from the freezer, an ace bandage out of the cabinet, and wrapped his hands up.
I got two plates and two glasses from the cupboard; I filled both of our glasses with milk and filled our plates with cookies. I stacked a huge pile of napkins between the two of us, and we dig in to the still warm cookies.
Content and full to the top with delicious cookies, we sat and waited for the phone call declaring our freedom and thinking of the lesson we had learned.
We need to be patient in life, or else we could get burned. Be patient in life, it will get your farther. Impatiens will get you nowhere.

My House : January Free WriteMy house should be rebuilt soon. Yes it was supposed to be done last June or July, but my family got ripped off by our contractor.
The money we gave him to work on our new home, he payed his bills with and went on a few vacations. He payed an inspector to pass inspections that were really incomplete. The house was floating on a one hundred some year old foundation, if you were standing in my basement, you could see outside. The water pipes were done wrong, he used the wrong electrical socets. There were holes in the walls with wires sticking out of them.
When my dad said something to him about the wires he said he would fix it, he fixed the holes by shoving the wires inside the holes and patching up the wall. He didn't use half of the things my parents had picked out, he picked out the cheapest things he could find. Which means they would eventually fall apart.
He said he was a contractor, when really all he is, is a handy man. My parents are going to court with him soon. He has no chance.

Who Is More Mature
Will is such a coward! In the book Something Wicked This Way Comes I believe Jim is more mature than Will. Will is afraid of everything; and Jim is not. Jim is outgoing, and brave, Will is a chicken.
Will need’s to step up and be a man for once!
In chapter 11, on page 48, “Here goes nothing!” Jim slid down the drain pipe on his house, towards the sleeping lawn. Jim was never afraid to step up to the plate.
Jim is way more mature than Will, don’t you think?
In chapter 19, on page 83, it says “Keep moving.” They moved. Jim held Will’s arm tight leading him. Jim had to guide Will, hold onto him, pretty much drag him so they could keep going without Will chickening out.
Will need’s to trust Jim and go against his fears, at least once.
In chapter 6, on page 28, ‘“Will…?” “No!” Will stopped, surprised at his own violence. “It’s just there. The fifth house. Just one minute, Will.” “Minute…?” ill glanced down the street.”
Jim is trying to convince Will to go down the street but will doesn’t want to budge, because he’s afraid.
I have come to realize that Will is a chicken; and Jim is way more mature than him.

DO NOT GO GENTLE INTO THAT GOOD NIGHT
Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rage at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
And you, my father, there on the sad height,
Curse, bless me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

This summer is the best summer I have ever had. I moved to a new town last year and summer here is so fun. Just about all my friends live here, and I get to see them everyday. We went swimming everyday this summer, even the rainy ones. We played basketball atleast once a week. Somedays we rode our bikes where ever they would take us. I got a quad twards the end of summer and rode at every opportunity I got. We had a very hot summer, with very few rainy days. When it was a rainy day my friends and I would run and play out in the rain. When it rained it poured for hours, there were very few short showers. I only got sick once this summer, I had the flu. My friends came over and watched movies with me every day untill I felt well enough to go outside again. I have to move away from this town soon. I'm going to miss all of my friends. I'm going to miss seeing them everyday, but atleast I had an amazing summer.
