Allies State of Mind

I have Mr. Fuavel as a SS teacher and we had to make a diary about a persona in world war one and do something creative too! I was working with Sam and we both decieded to write a rap along with our journals. Our journals were about two people Nick and Liz and they are newly weds...Nick got drafted in the war and was injured (by poisonous gas) and was sent back home. There is a lot of drama too but i'm not really gonna get into that. I was telling Mr. Ullrich about the video and the rap and he told me to post it...so I am. You won't really understand the rap unless you know or see the lyrics so I'm putting them below:

VERSE 1:

Yeah I’m out of USA, now I’m up in Germany

Right next to France, But I be Allied forever

I’m the new Kaiser, and since I made it here,

I can make it anywhere; Yeah they love me everywhere,

I used to work in Factories, with all of my homies,

Right there up in Boston, Pull me back to that tavern,

Catch me in my home town, Five Sixty State Street,

Catch my wife in the kitchen baking pastries,

Cruising down the Hudson, Periwinkle steamboat,

Sailing so slow the speed limit is 5 no joke,

I’m out of college, full of that “Iron Youth”

Packing my bags for I be leaving soon

Say bye bye to wifey, who’s still sipping tea

Now she sitting in her chair, rationing our food

I be pumped up, she be in the mood

Telling by my attitude that I’m most definitely siding with the

CHORUS:

Allies, We gonna do this old school,

There’s nothing you can do,

Cuz’ you’re verse sing the Allies,

These trenches will make you feel so blue,

The machine guns will kill you,

Let’s hear it for the Allies, Allies, Allies

VERSE 2:

Catch me with my rifle in the trenches shooting Central Powers yeah,

I make the GI’s more famous than the Joes can,

You should know I bleed Red, but I so tough ugh

I got troops waking single file in the rough

Welcome to trench ware fare,

Corners will be blown up,

Poisonous gas is sprayed all over us

Black Plane, Green Plane, Fighting Plane, Holla Back

For Centrals they fighting us like they forgot how to fight,

Eight Million troops fighting for their lives,

War is a pity half of y’all won’t make it out alive,

Me I’m all alone, everyman for himself

Someone call 911 cuz’ I need some help

Beating up rats, writing letters to our loves

Treaty of Versailles, Rest in peace all my bros

Statue of Liberty, Leagues of Nations

Long Live Peace Yo, I from the winning side and that’s the

CHORUS:

Allies, We gonna do this old school,

There’s nothing you can do,

Cuz’ you’re verse sing the Allies,

These trenches will make you feel so blue,

The machine guns will kill you,

Let’s hear it for the Allies, Allies, Allies

VERSE 3:

Light is blinding

Gas made me blinded

Can’t wait to get back to US

To my wife and kid

War taken for granted

People sipping life casually, then gradually becomes worse

Don’t bite the apple Eve

Caught up in army life

Now you’re in for life

Whether it be a sword or a butter knife

War of hell filled with military personnel

Good Boys Gone Men, the army’s filled with them

On the boat back home across the Atlantic

Everybody ride it, just like the titanic

Hail Mary to the city that you made it

Jesus sure saved you because you made it out alive

Came out of school, graduated for the high life

Doctors, Lawyers, but I ended up in army life

They all said we’d be feeling like champions

But now we see that it wasn’t worth it

CHORUS:

Allies, We gonna do this old school,

There’s nothing you can do,

Cuz’ you’re verse sing the Allies,

These trenches will make you feel so blue,

The machine guns will kill you,

Let’s hear it for the Allies, Allies, Allies

VERSE 4:

White flag in the air for WWI

Big men, Big dream, all looking tough

No place in the world that could compare

Put your rifles in the air everybody say yea, yea, yea

CHORUS:

Allies, We gonna do this old school,

There’s nothing you can do,

Cuz’ you’re verse sing the Allies,

These trenches will make you feel so blue,

The machine guns will kill you,

Let’s hear it for the Allies, Allies, Allies

BTW I now we are NOT good rappers so you don't have to mention that...Enjoy ;)

Global Warming!

Article posted February 24, 2010 at 11:50 PM GMT0 • comment (7) • Reads 475

I don't understand how so many people think global warming is not real?  Icecaps are melting, Polar bears are dying and a hole is being made in the Ozone layer, these are absolutely not valid reasons for global warming (sarcasm)! Ok maybe a few years ago when our technology wasn't as advanced I would let this go...but now we have so much evidence and information that leads to the existence of global warming!

Us as people have to STOP throwing and wasting and START saving and recycling. You may be wondering; "What’s the big deal? I am not the cause of global warming! It won't matter if I don't recycle...I'm only one person! “Well that is true, but you have to realize that in the long run everyone counts and every little bit will count.

There are countries like the United States, China and India that have gigantic carbon footprints. There are also countries such as England and Germany that are strict when it comes to recycling and pollution. In Germany you would get fined if you littered, recycled incorrectly or refused to recycle! European countries are very concerned when it comes to trash. The United States wants to be like Europe, but most people STILL don't believe in this extremely hazardous issue! It will be fatal for our world, our earth if people don't realize the dangers of pollution and step up to do something about it.

ENERGY

Article posted January 20, 2010 at 03:02 AM GMT0 • comment (1) • Reads 457

Solar Energy is the energy received from the sun. This type of energy can be used to heat up objects, and can be transformed into energy. The energy is produced through panels called solar panel. Solar panels are quite expensive but are definitely worth it. Like for any object there are pros and cons. Fortunately, for this object there are more pros than cons :) Some pros are that solar energy is a renewable resource, solar panels do not cause pollution, and your electricity bill won't be too large :) Some cons are that the installation of solar panels is extremely price, solar panels take up roof space and aren't appealing to look at and solar panels only work when the sun is shining. Overall solar energy is better to use because it is healthier for our nation.

Is There Life Outside Of Earth???

Article posted December 17, 2009 at 03:31 AM GMT0 • comment (1) • Reads 484

The Question: For this assignment you will think of the big question, “Is there life out there?” One of the great challenges for astronomers has been locating planets and trying to find one like our own planet, one that can support life. There are a number of issues associated with this. Does all life require liquid water? Is a planet like Earth very unique? How many other planets are out there?

My Response: Neil Armstrong once said "This is one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind." Well, if getting the moon was one giant leap for mankind, I think we would need to take around 1,000 leaps just to get out of our galaxy. We are not that far advanced yet, we can't even get human- beings anywhere except for the moon! The question that so many wonder is: Is there a life out there? I honestly think there is, but we couldn't know for sure. When that question is asked, people's reaction is usually, aliens, Area 51 or Martians! I would be ecstatic if we could just find a small plant or harmless bacteria. We shouldn't think too big for again, our technology isn't advanced enough. If there were another life out there, let’s say aliens, and then hopefully their technology would be advanced enough to make the trip here. I don't think that all life needs water to survive, but all known life needs water to survive. I also think that yes, earth is a very unique planet and that there is not many or any like it!

Crab Nebula

Article posted December 1, 2009 at 12:09 AM GMT0 • comment (1) • Reads 484

The Crab Nebula is found in the Taurus constellation. This was firt observed by the Chinese in the year 1054 AD but was discovered by John Bevis in 1731, who added it to his atlas (Uranographia Britannica). The Crab Nebula expands at the rate of around 1,500km per second. The Crab Nebula is generally the strongest persistent source in the sky. It is 6,500 light years away from Earth. In the center of the nebula, there is a rotating neutron star which sends out massive amounts of energy and radiation. The Crab Nebula was the first astronomical object observed with a historical supernova explosion. I chose this because, not many people did this and that I thought that it was pretty and had many vibrant colors. -Disha<3

About the Blogger
I am Disha...I have many interests and they are very diverse. I love English, Math and Science. I also love music, art and sports. I enjoy listening to all kind of music, whether it be classical, jazz, pop, hip-hop or rap. Often I express my creativity through painting, songs, and writing. I enjoy Science and Math because those are the two subjects that explain why things are the way they are. My favorite part of Science is the labs. I mostly enjoy hands-on experiments. I look forward to doing labs because they are so much fun, interesting and explain our notes. I am very daring person, I always try new things. I have been snorkeling with sharks and stingrays, held boa constructors that weigh more than me and have been parasailing over the glistening oceans in the Bahamas. I am also a big traveler; I have been to over 15 different countries since I was 6 months old. Some of the places I have been are France, Dominican Republic, Bahamas, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, Spain, London, India, and Dubai. I guess you can say that my interests are all over the place :) I hope you come to visit my blog often!
