Last Tuesday we cooked biscuits with our mums. We put some butter in. Then we put in some condensed milk. After that we stirred it. Next we put some sugar in, then flour. Then we mixed it. After that we put some baking powder in. Then we mixed it again. Then we took the cookie mixture out. Then we rolled it into a ball and squashed it down on a tray. Next we put a chocolate button in it. Then we took them to the oven. Later we took them out. We waited for them to cool down. Then we ate them. They tasted yummy. I loved it.

Our School’s on Fire.

Article posted June 15, 2012 at 11:16 AM GMT • comment (3) • Reads 85

On Friday our school was on fire in the computer suite. Flames were flickering. The light fell on the table. The siren went and it said, "Evacuate to the nearest fire exit.” Everybody walked to the big field. The teacher called the roll. I was scared. Gary said to the firemen, “Go back, the fires out!” The firemen came to check it anyway. There was a big hole in the floor. You could see down it. Wood was tumbling down. Smoke was bursting everywhere. It was like a volcano was erupting. Flames burst out of the roof. The building collapsed into the library. Gary sprayed the fire as hard as he could, it didn't stop. The firemen had to put it out. Water burst. The flames got lower and lower until it got put out. I saw people screaming. I heard the fire crackling and it burned the library. Pages of books got burnt. Book cases and shelves disappeared from the flames. The glass exploded! The building tumbled down. Ash lay everywhere. The flames dampened down until the fire was out.

Yesterday it was Junior Sports Day. We did a sack race. Then we filled the bucket up with water with a tiny cup. Our team won. We went to Waitawa Bush. Then the children and I went into the water. We went on the playground. Then we threw the balls in the hoop. We jumped in the hoops. I felt hot. My favourite thing was the sack races. I won. Next we did hockey. Finally it was morning tea time. I was useless at shooting hoops. The tricky part was throwing the bean bag in the hoop.

Today I did a Run, Bike, Run. I felt tired when I got to Larcy Road. I saw Mum. She ran with me. I passed Carter going down the hill. I felt speedy. Then I put my helmet on. I passed Herewini on my bike. Then he passed me. I went through the tyres. I went through the net. I felt excited when I reached the finish line. I ate my ice-block. I held the flag. I felt excited afterwards.

In Waitawa Bush the stream runs.
Little waterfalls splash and splash.
