Welcome! My name is Paul and I'm in Mr. Schwan's 5th grade class. This is my personal blog for the 2009-2010 school year. I hope you like it!

Our class does some great things. Some of my favorites include podcasting, following our class mascot Marley around the country, and talking with ham radio operators around the world. Podcasting is where we record many of our writing assignments and put them on our class website. I like this because it's fun to hear the voices of my classmates, and I love the stories they tell. Marley, our class mascot, is now in Newhall, Iowa. Our class took turns having him overnight for a "play date" during September and October. We wrote journal entries for Marley and signed them with his name. Finally, I'm enjoying the ham radio contacts we've made in our class. We took a virtual fieldtrip to Washington, DC with Mr. Schwan's friend Doug, who contacted us from The Florida House in Washington, DC. As you can see, we do some fun things in fifth grade!
