lynmore values

Article posted September 15, 2010 at 03:10 AM GMT0 • comment • Reads 179

This slide is about our school values- honesty, caring, respect, responsibility and perseverance. These values are important to our school as they represent who we are and what we can achieve and prepare us to be good citizens for the future.
What would the world look like if we didn’t show?
CARING: It would look like people not sharing things and people not caring for elders, animals, patients and children. It would be a selfish world to live in.
PERSEVERANCE: Children would give up in all subjects and not bother to turn up to sports practise or exams. They wouldn’t care about anything and have a negative attitude. There would be no new inventions in the world and more porerty with people easily giving up.
HONESTY: Children would steal expensive jewellery, clothing, shoes and gadgets from shops. People would always lie to each other and blame it on everyone else. No one would know who to trust and you would feel isolated and lonely.
RESPONSIBILITY: If the world didn’t have responsibility everyone would be leaving their clothes or equipment on the floor and expecting someone else to pick them up, and forgetting important things daily. Our world would be completely littered; animals would be slaughtered to extinction too.
RESPECT: If the world didn’t show respect everyone would be teasing, abusing and tripping each other up. People would never help others when they are in need of help such as, crossing the road, helping with subjects and helping the wounded!
So we hope this slide shows all of these values that the world should show!!

Fairy,gumboot and an igloo

Article posted August 4, 2010 at 11:24 PM GMT0 • comment (2) • Reads 278

It was silent-no one expected a fairy (BAD) to arrive at the igloo. . .Her eyes gleamed like hot boiling lava and her wings twinkled. That’s when it all happened , the bad fairy suddenly metamorphosed the igloo into a miniature gumboot just so it could fit her .Once she had one gumboot she decided to go and destroy another igloo so she could have two gorgeous, sparkly pairs of tiny gumboots…but she couldn’t because there was no more left!

Persuasive paragraph

Article posted July 23, 2010 at 02:13 AM GMT0 • comment • Reads 241

We should have an internet password. Kids could go on inappropriate and unsuitable websites, for example sneaky little children could search inappropriate videos on these websites, You-tube and Face book! They could type rude messages then send them to people they could do this when they are supposed to be something that the teachers requested them to do, like researching. Do we want young children to be exposed to rude images? So I hope you agree that we should have an internet password to ensure children’s safety on the internet! IMPROVEMENTS:Is it always sneaky children or do bad things come up when search by accident-do they need supervision? Next time I need to independently ask the reader aquestion to get them thinking. GOOD THINGS: I could explain my point of view using a title sentence stating my reason and I could use emotive words in my paragraph.

Best caretaker in Rotorua

Does your caretaker slack off? Or does he forget all the important things you continually ask him to do? Well, our caretaker Gary never does, he keeps on task all the time! If you want to know more about Gary, read on. (He’s a cleaning machine!)
Day after day Gary helps build fabulous new buildings around the school! Fences, steps or playgrounds: Gary will build it! In no time at all Gary slaps up new fences and steps around the school. But not only does he do that ,he also helps make amazing things for children with special needs, e.g. ramps and special chairs to make their life at school easier. Even for class communities and school productions –he’s building things! But do you think that’s all the awesome things he does? No, I didn’t think so .Giving up precious time, he helps teachers with DIY in their houses! I don’t think any other caretaker has master builder skills like our fabulous caretaker GARY!
In your job have you ever had to hoofers up revolting sick or piles of other business that kids have left behind ?Well, Gary has to do this week after week on top of his other jobs! In just no time at all Gary fixes smashed windows and cleans up filthy graffiti around the school grounds. But do you think that’s all? No it’s not, he even supervises at all school disco’s . Do you fancy cleaning up spilt fizzy-drinks or squashed hot-chips? Well Gary has to do this after he has supervised at the school disco! But wait that’s not all... He hoofers up disgusting spew and cleans up other business until there is not even a speck left! So who is it to the rescue? It is GARY to the rescue everytime!
Week after week Gary builds eco-friendly gardens around the school grounds! Prunes, weeds, waters and sprays; Gary does it! Every week I see Gary pruning and weeding all the gardens around the school. Do you think that’s all? No, it’s not there’s still more...He even organises all chairs and plants for every ceremony at the end of each year. But not only that , he gives up his caretaker time to help build children designed gardens. I don’t think any other caretaker gives up his time to care for kids, except our spectacular caretaker GARY!
As you now know Gary is not just the best caretaker in Rotorua but probably the best through-out the whole of New Zealand! We are so lucky to have him, he simply can’t be beaten!
