lynmore values

Article posted September 15, 2010 at 03:08 AM GMT0 • comment • Reads 164

This slide is about our school values- honesty, caring, respect, responsibility and perseverance. These values are important to our school as they represent who we are and what we can achieve and prepare us to be good citizens for the future.
What would the world look like if we didn’t show?
CARING: It would look like people not sharing things and people not caring for elders, animals, patients and children. It would be a selfish world to live in.
PERSEVERANCE: Children would give up in all subjects and not bother to turn up to sports practise or exams. They wouldn’t care about anything and have a negative attitude. There would be no new inventions in the world and more porerty with people easily giving up.
HONESTY: Children would steal expensive jewellery, clothing, shoes and gadgets from shops. People would always lie to each other and blame it on everyone else. No one would know who to trust and you would feel isolated and lonely.
RESPONSIBILITY: If the world didn’t have responsibility everyone would be leaving their clothes or equipment on the floor and expecting someone else to pick them up, and forgetting important things daily. Our world would be completely littered; animals would be slaughtered to extinction too.
RESPECT: If the world didn’t show respect everyone would be teasing, abusing and tripping each other up. People would never help others when they are in need of help such as, crossing the road, helping with subjects and helping the wounded!
So we hope this slide shows all of these values that the world should show!!

fairy,gumboot and igloo

There once lived an evil and selfish fairy named Nasty. Everyone hated her. Nasty lived in an old, scruffy gumboot and all her friends lived in a shining gold igloo’s (maybe I should say all the other fairies because she had no friends). Everyday Nasty would go for a stroll in the forest and make all the plants and flowers die with her black fairy dust. A few minutes later Nasty bumped into a young fairy they talked for a while then the young fairy decided to invite Nasty to her house for a cup of fairy tea. They became great friends and then the young fairy gave Nasty a gift it wasn’t an ordinary gift it was a gift of kindness.

Vampire,foodhall and chopsticks

It was a damp, haunted food hall no one had owned it for years. A few years passed by and still it was empty until someone heard a person shout “where are you?” “Ah there you are”. As fast as lighting the man ran out of the food hall, someone quickly took a snapshot of him. He wore a black and red cap and the funny thing about him was he had fangs not just ordinary fangs his fangs were chopsticks he’s a...a...vampire noodle thief.

persuasive paragraph

TV is making your children slack. Do your children eat junk food as they watch TV everyday? If yes, well tell your children to go outside and get active. Hundreds of kids are just staring into space watching cartoons act and talk they watch all of this when they can be active by climbing trees or other fun active activities such as biking. Cartoons are limiting your children’s knowledge and creativity as they stare into a blank filled box. So I think children should get off their backsides and get outside.

Good things I done: I know how to explain my point of view using a title sentence stating my reason. I can ask the reader a question to get them thinking.
IMPROVEMENTS: I could have used more persuasive and emotive words, and backed up my opinion with more detail and evidence.

best caretaker in rotorua

Does your school look out of place, dirty, rundown or has yucky rubbish lying around? Well our school doesn’t because we have the super duper caretaker Gary. He’s like a cleaning machine. Read on and you’ll find out how Gary makes our school so bright and colourful.
Have you ever had to clean up revolting messes or squashed food? I didn’t think so; well our school caretaker does everyday! Gary cleans the most disgusting things you could ever see like spew, squashed chips and fizzy drinks at school discos and even brown alerts in classrooms and smelly toilets. Gary will clean up anything! So are you ready to tackle a job of a caretaker like our Gary? I think not...
Do you get tired of putting up things around your house and then you feel pain in your back afterwards? Well Gary fights through the pain. Gary has to display things around the school e.g. IWB and data shows, heat pumps and fire alarms. He still does all of this work even though he has other jobs to do. Gary even helps other teachers put up displays around their classrooms. Does your caretaker do all of this? I didn’t think so but obviously our caretaker does.
Does your caretaker build props for communities or help assemble new playgrounds? If not you need Gary. Gary helps build mostly anything. He makes equipment for people with special needs like ramps and chairs, he also helped build our swimming pool shelter, boys and girls changing rooms and every week he tests the temperature of the water and checks the chlorine level. I wonder if your caretaker does this every week.
Well there you have it. Now you know that Gary is the best caretaker of them all. We all are very privileged to have Gary as a caretaker at our school! Without him our school wouldn’t be so clean.

flower writin

A flower is like a child. They help others to live a longer and happier life by taking care of each other and sharing things.

Flowers are disrespectful at times like humans. Large flowers over crowd little flowers so they won’t have any nutrition and sunlight to grow.

Some flowers are responsible for other plants around them, protecting them with their colour and scent.

Flowers persevere through the forces of nature without giving up to remain tall and strong.

Flowers are honest because they reveal their inner beauty and senses.

horror scene

Article posted December 2, 2009 at 01:40 AM GMT0 • comment • Reads 226

‘’Oh no I whispered as I saw bats ducking and moving their body slowly to get off the stage. Suddenly the haunting ghost music started smoke disappeared and the hall sounded empty like there was not a single person inside. Now it was my time to take centre stage.
We all started to argue about who is going to go on the stage first but the music had already started ‘’Fine I’ll go first’’ Mac mumbled. We all entered onto the stage using levels and pathways. I tried to do my best because that was the day that my parents came to encourage me. I used most of the things that I learned about dance but one thing that I forgot to do was to look like I was searching.
That day our costumes were amazing they were as white as snow dribbling from the sky on a frosty night, we also had white string dangling from our arms like moss hanging off trees. Our music was music that no one had ever heard before I have no idea what kind it was but I’m gonna call it horror music. I reckon our music was the best out of every class that did production because it was really dramatic and we knew all the other classes’ rock songs. Nervous as I felt like I was in a horror movie, sweeping and swaying onto the stage my face blushing like a rose, but before I knew it, it was over.

Interpretive dance is way better than jazz, anyway i have done jazz way longer than interpretive dance but it is still my favourite and it will bet jazz by miles and I’m not lying.
