Stories About My Summer Part 3

Article posted August 24, 2012 at 12:40 AM GMT0 • comment • Reads 152

Hello. This is going to be my last Crosbyville blog. I'm going to start off by saying, my brother was on the news. If you watched News 4 at 5 on August 22nd you would have seen a special ed teacher named Mrs. Rice. While the news people were in the classroom my brother's face got on TV. So yeah.

Moving on to the much anticipated Bass Lake trip. This year My mom and I went to it it with her boyfriend and his son. There was a bunch of trafic getting there so it took us 7 hours. But it was worth it. I went swimming, tubing, and camping. But for 2 days I was sick so I didn't do much. However very exciting stuff happened. For starters my cousin Malia got an inch long splinter. We had to take out with a needle and tweezers. She got it because we were on this dock with a water slide on it. She was walking on it when she got the splinter. But the most exciting part is yet to come.

On the same day Malia got the splinter, our family rented a patio boat. We drove it over to a small cove to hang out. It was getting late so we started back to our cabin. No one noticed my cousin Aidan standing on the front of the boat. For those who don't know, a patio boat has this little space outside of the boat for people to stand on. However, not when the boat is moving. So while we were driving back I saw him out of the corner of my eye fall off with an boat raft toy and go under the moving boat. My mom, I, and the other people who saw started yelling "Stop the boat! Stop the boat!". Mike stopped as soon as he heard us. My mom got to the front and grabbed Adain from under the boat he go out safely. In a blink of an eye he was going down lake with the current. My Poppy and Uncle Kevin jumped in and tried to save him. We kept screaming "He's under the boat he's under the boat!" Aidans mom thought we meant the real boat. So she started balling. Once my Poppy and Uncle Kevin got to Aidan he was okay. They swam back to our boat. That was probably one of the scariest days of my life. To make it worse, Uncle Mike's girlfriend Tracy realized her dog jumped off the boat. My mom and helped her get her dog to saftey too. So it was a pretty exciting trip.

Well, that just about wraps it up my last blog. It has been fun blogging on here. I'll miss it next year. Anyways, there is one more thing I have to tell you guys. I got a job! I'm going to babysit Mrs. Ritenhouse's son Matthew after school, It's going to be an awesome job. So now that I'm done telling my stories. I guess it is time to really say goodbye. Goodbye Crosbyville. I'll miss you. :( :)

Stories About My Summer Part 2

Article posted August 22, 2012 at 01:44 AM GMT0 • comment • Reads 48

So as usual my family vacations were really really intresting. Lets start off with my dads side of the family. Lake Chelan.

I went to my first barn dance at Lake Chelan. It was okay, but the music was really old and countryish. The dancing was aright though. However the only person who stayed with me was my grandma. My grandpa, my dad, and brother all left early. But the most intresting part was when the band pulled me on stage to sing a song. I asked to play some "today music" but they didn't have any. So I settled for Don't Stop Believing by Journey. It was fun, but really embarassing. I was suppose to do it with my friends Kyla and Sophie but they had to leave. Anyways,I swam, rafted, and learned how to stand and paddle on a paddleboard. I never fell off either!.

I also went to this water park called Slide Waters. It was so fun. There was this one that was 175 ft high and went straight down. You raced people on these blue mats, it was my second favorite. My favorite was the purple haze. It was this purple tube that looked like a big pipe. It was pitch dark the whole time and you were going super fast. It was awesome! But one was really bad. You sat in this tube and went through this slide. But it was kind of like bumper cars, they sent 2 people at a time. I was too small to fit in the teen tubes and the worker said I was too big for the kiddie ones so I had to use the teen ones. Anyways, I kept falling off and hurting myself. But the worst part was the final drop. I had fially gotten the hang of it when this bigger guy came by, knocked me out of the tube, and sent me rolling down the big drop. It was so painfull and embarassing. The worker at the top had to throw me down my tube. But now looking back at it it is very funny. They're were other slides too, but nothing to exciting. However my brother went down a few with my dad. We had to bribe him with playing a video at the arcade(we don't actually give him tokens though, he just pretends he's playing them).

Stay tune for my final summer story, and final Crosbyville blog.

P.S.This is to Mrs. Crosby only. Please delete the one with the title that doesn't make sense. You know the one called Stories of About My Summer. That ws a little typo, sorry. :)

Stories About My Summer Part 1

Article posted July 15, 2012 at 09:58 PM GMT0 • comment (1) • Reads 109

Hey people! How is everyone? I am awesome. But I'm still missing 5th grade. However my summer is going great. I actually have a few stories that happened. For example today I went bowling today and in one game i got spares every time. In the other game I got 3 sstrikes! And no I wasn't cheating and using the bumpers.

I'm sure you all remember that one blog about my cousin jumping in the shower with me, well, it kinda happened again. so I was telling this funny story about my nana, (sadly my mom said no nana stories on the blog, so I can't tell you what it is) the story involved white leggings and a knitted christmas sweatshirt. Malia said I couldn't fit in the leggings or sweatshirt, so being the stubborn person I am I set of to the bathroom to prove that I could fit. Unfortunatley the door didn't have a lock. So to make sure Malia didn't come in I had to lean against the door to make sure she couldn't get in. I discovered it isn't easy to change and lean against the door. Luckily, I hadn't heard Malia out there so that meant she wasn't out there. So I thought. When I got off the door Malia opened the door! When I looked out the door I saw Malia and my cousin Aidan (and yes Aidan is a boy) standing there laughing. To make it worse I had no shirt on and my leggings were see through! It was so embarrasing!

This next story involves my cousins and a zipline. In my mom's neighborhood there is this huge creek going through it. At the very end at the creek I discovered a zipline. It goes straight across the creek. When I told Aidan and Malia about it the wanted to go right over. So we headed over to it and began. I was expecting it to be slow like it was when I first went on it. But in the week since I last rode on it someone must have oiled it or somethng, because when I went on it was super slippery and I fell off the zipline and landed in on my butt on the bottom of the creek. I also got bit by a crawfish. My cousins were at the starting platform laughing their heads off. Looking back on it now it was pretty funny. :0)

Time to Say Goodbye

Article posted May 31, 2012 at 02:27 AM GMT0 • comment (1) • Reads 127

Wow! I can’t believe this school year is over in about 5 days! I’m going to miss Mrs. Crosby’s class, it was so fun!

Anyways, I think I have improved a bunch on my personality. Not to say that I never had one or anything, it’s just that this class has made me grow a lot. My class last year (no offense to anyone) was, well, lets just say wasn’t Mrs. Crosby’s class. This year I have become more outgoing and have gained a lot more friends than I had last year. I also have improved on getting my work done a lot faster. In the beginning of the year my name was always on the list, and last year I was always one of the slowest. I don’t want to leave this class!!!

Now it’s time to talk about what I’m doing this summer. I’m doing a lot of things, camping, trips, and just hanging out. But one of the things I’m most excited about is going up to Bass Lake for one of my family trips. Bass lake is in California and is about 4 or 5 hours away. I’ve gone there every summer for about 2 or 3 years. My mom use to do it when she was little too. So now it has become a big huge thing every summer. My nana and poppy come up, my uncles (which I have about 10 or 11 of) my cousins, my aunts (which I also have around 10 of), and of course us and some of my moms friends. Oh, and by the way, not all of my uncles and aunts come up. We mostly hang out on the beach or on the boat. As for shelter around 7 of us stay in a cabin, about 7 in a trailer, and the rest in camping grounds. Speaking of camping grounds, I have a funny story to tell. It happened 2 years ago. It was all the families in my Aunt Lynn’s campground. And being the loud family that we are we were making a lot of noise. Enough noise to make the neighbors report us to the rangers twice! The first time was just a warning, but the second time the ranger (who by the way was old and probably 5 foot 5) came up to us, put his hands on his hips, and started lecturing us for 5 minutes and threatening to call the cops! It was so funny watching it. Anyways, I’m so excited for this vacation. I’ll probably blog about over the summer if I get bored, so make sure to check it out.

Saving Sea Turtles

Article posted May 3, 2012 at 11:53 PM GMT0 • comment • Reads 79

I’m going to start off with teamwork. If it wasn’t for all the teamwork the volunteers have put into saving the sea turtles there wouldn’t be any sea turtles left. For example if the scientists and the volunteers didn’t work together to get the eggs, take them to the little turtle labs, and releasing them in the wild most of the little babies would die! These people are also taking huge risks. They are risking getting fired because some of their work time is going towards the turtles. They are also risking turtles. This is because if the sea turtles try to find the labs they were taken to and don’t return to the beaches they are suppose to lie their eggs on there wouldn’t be any repopulation of the sea turtles. However in the end I do think the people are helping save the sea turtles.

Moving on to kindness and soul. It takes a whole lot of kindness and soul to take the time out of your work and lives to save these magnificent sea turtles. If it wasn’t for those kind and caring people I bet the sea turtles would be severely endangered or extinct. Now last but not least, diversity. Saving the Sea Turtles shows diversity in one big way. It shows that every animal or species (especially the sea turtles) should help each other out even though they are so different. For example, the people helping with all the turtle stuff aren’t doing it for money, they’re doing it because we need diversity in the world and keeping turtles alive does that. Lastly, they are doing it because saving the turtles is really helping out the whole animal kingdom. It helps out obviously by saving the turtles, but also giving the birds and the other things that eat turtles something to eat.

Awkward Situation

Article posted March 6, 2012 at 05:21 PM GMT0 • comment (4) • Reads 127

What is a new situation I’ve had to over come? Hmmm…Oh I know.
It all started on August 29, 2011 when I started a new year at school. I had just gotten out of Mrs. Donahue’s class (I had been with her for two years) and was now entering Mrs. Crosby’s 5th grade class. The only problem was her class rolled up with her and I only had Sage as a friend. That made the first day of school really awkward because everyone was like “Hey I haven’t seen you in so long! Can you believe we get to be in Mrs. Crosby’s class again?”. So Sage and I stuck together on the first day for the obvious reasons. One being we didn’t really know anybody. Two being we sat at the same table so even if I did want to get away from her (which I didn’t) I couldn’t. Anyways, the next day we had to switch seats, worst of all Sage and I were separated! I was then stuck with Megan, Ben, and Michael for 3 weeks. But it was actually really fun. I got to meet new people and made friends with Megan.
I think I handled the situation well for a few reasons. First of all I didn’t have any meltdowns or anything like that. Lastly, I wasn’t just hiding out at recess and not talking. And now I am in the most awesome class ever.

Suprise Attack

Article posted January 10, 2012 at 04:45 PM GMT0 • comment (6) • Reads 163

Hello again. I have made a breathtaking discovery in the science of... little cousins!!! I'm sure alot of you have little cousins and I'm sure you've noticed they want you all to themselves. Well, my cousin Malia takes that to the extreme.
So there I am taking a shower while my mom and her friends are downstairs partying it up. That's when I heard the door open.I thought it was probably just Dillon getting some of his toys, so I didn't pay much attention to the person. However I still felt like it was staring at me or something. But I still didn't pay much attention to it. So I turned around only to find Malia standing at the back of the shower trying to get in. Naturally, I started screaming and trying to get her out. That only made it worse, so I jumped out and let her continue MY shower.

Spot the Spotless Fish

Article posted December 7, 2011 at 11:26 PM GMT0 • comment (1) • Reads 145

When I was little, probably 3 or 4, I got a fish for Christmas. It was a little baby one that was probably just born. He was one of those ones that have the long flowy fins. Anyways, my nana and poppy were there that Christmas so we all sat in a circle and tried to come up with ideas for the name. My poppy's was Fish, my mom's was Fishy, and my nana's was Ruby. Of course being the stubborn person I am I wanted the one I came up with. Of course being 3 I didn't really name it um... correctly. I named it Spot the Spotless Fish. We called him Spot for short. But my nana, being the stubborn person she is was like"Can it please be Ruby Little Foot,". I obviously said no, but she wouldn't give up. At every corner I turned she was right there asking if it could be named Ruby, my answer was no each time. Anyways that's how I spent my Christmas, being stalked by my nana.

Spalsh in my Pants

Article posted November 16, 2011 at 11:36 PM GMT0 • comment (11) • Reads 248

“McKayla!” My mom says half yelling half screaming. “You said to let it out.” I reply in a babyish voice. Wait, let me tell you this from the beginning. So here I am at Disneyland walking around with my family. That’s when I see Splash Mountain, the awesome rollercoaster. Mom and I get on it. Of course she has asked me if I need to go to the bathroom, like any 5 year old I say no. Once we are on the ride, and watching all the singing bears and stuff, I realize I need to go the bathroom. I turn around and tell my mom. By that point we are heading up the big drop. She said to hold it in and don’t let it out. All I heard was let it out. So I did the extremely embarrassing stunt of peeing in my pants. When we get off I’m walking all funny and the line is exchanging whispers. My mom and dad took me to the Disney store to buy new shorts. But of course everything was too expensive. The result, wet pants and I had to walk all the way back to the hotel which wasn’t even in the theme park! Anyways, my embarrassment is a little different then Tyler’s in the book. In the book she was embarrassed when the teacher asked her if she was adopted, and when she had to explain her whole family issue. But hey, both are embarrassing. 
