Our class just got done reading fantastic stories in lit circles. All these stories had one subject; the characters in the books all faced some challenges.
Our group read Bridge to Terabithia and I am going to write a book review on it very soon. These are all of the books that were chosen to be read.
.Bridge to Terabithia
.My Side of the mountain
.Maniac Magee
.Under the Blood Red sun
.The Penderwicks
.Hoot
I am on a mission to read all of the books I haven’t read out of the choices.

Book Review on Smiles to Go
Do you want to read an exciting, interesting book? Then read Smiles to go by the award winning author, Jerry Spinnelli.
Smiles to go is about a science nerd named Will Tuppence who finds out about a death of a proton and is worried that in tons of years the world will vanish. The characters are Will Tuppence (the main character), BT and Mi Sue (Will’s two best friends), Tabby Tuppence (Will’s annoying sister who learns a lesson in the end), Mr. and Mrs. Tuppence (Will’s parents), and Korbet (a kid that has a crush on Tabby).
I think that you should read this book because it might teach you a little bit about science. It also is funny and easy to understand as you read on. The main reason I want you to read this book because it has good word choice and lots of voice.
I recommend this book for ages 10-up so you could understand the parts. If you are having trouble finding out what PD means in the book, it means the days since the proton died. I hope you get and enjoy this wonderful book!
Smiles Away the Sequel of Smiles to Go (you will understand it better if you read the book first!)
I remember when I was in third grade, sitting on a hospital bed and glaring down at my great-grandpa Will Tuppence who was going to die a minute later. His last words to me were,” try to save protons, I’ll be looking down at you”. I asked, “What is a proton”, but it was too late. So I’ve been trying to save them ever since.
I am in ninth grade now and me and my friend, Jimmy Jones were convincing people to be careful with protons. Some people came up and took our homemade flyers to help the environment. Lots of things have disappeared since Grandpa Will was a kid. Will thought that many more years from now more protons would die. He was right.
Jimmy asked me I wanted if I wanted a soda but I was okay. Curtis is the best friend ever and will always be. “Could I come over tonight”, Jimmy asked.”I really want to play your new video game.” “Sure, you could do or play whatever you want to.” Jimmy is my only friend so I want to be a cooler type of kid. After school, Curtis was coming over and we were going to hang out and make posters about saving protons.
Jimmy and worked on the posters and they looked pretty cool! I thought they would attract people to be more careful with things.”Hey, do you want to Monopoly?””Sure”, I replied with a little smile. I always beat Jimmy in monopoly because he always runs out of money in the end. I ended up winning in a close duel for money!

Weekly Book Review on Oggie Cooder By JP
Do you want to read a hilarious book that no other book has? Then read Oggie Cooder by Sarah Weeks.
The story is about a boy named Oggie who transforms from a dumb average kid, to a famous well known charving champion. Charving is carving cheese with your teeth. The characters are Oggie (charving champion), Donnica Perfecto (a mean bully who is on Oggie’s case), Oggie’s mom, Oggie’s dad, Oggie’s loving dog Turk, and much more funny characters.
Oggie sometimes gets bullied or teased, but his teacher really likes him. Oggie is also smart, but he doesn’t have any friends when he should. There are three reasons why you should get this book. The first reason you should is that the book is that it is very funny. The second reason is that the book is fun and easy to read. Last but not least, this book has great word choice and you’ll love it. I recommend this book for kids 8 and up.
If you are thinking about getting this book you have made a great choice. So if you want to read this great funny book, buy it in the store. Trust me, you’ll love the book.

Weekly News By JP
On October fourth through tenth, people and kids are trying to stop bullies once and for all. Nobody likes getting bullied, right. Name-calling, pushing or hitting, or leaving out other kids, are examples of bullying. Cyberbullying is when bullies send mean text messages or e-mails over and over again.
Schools say that bullying happens every week. That has to be tough for the kid getting bullied. Four states have serious laws about bad bullying. Some good schools, like mine have bully rules that if you break, you might get expelled from school.
A really big earthquake hit the western part of Indonesia last Wednesday. There were sparking fares, falling buildings, and streets that were destroyed. The next day, another earth quake hit Southeast Asia island nation. It caused more damage than it did in Indonesia, but less people got hurt. Another nature incident happened on that Friday. The earthquake shook Samoa islands in the south Pacific. It hit between the islands of Samoa and American Samoa that caused the Tsunami. What is happening and how will this terror stop?
Tons of monarch butterflies migrate from the United States to Mexico every winter. Monarchs can tell by the weather what time of mouth it is just like humans! Monarchs also use antennas on their head to sense light. Researchers are testing butterflies by dipping there antennas in paint. Antennas that had black paint had to be removed. Antennas with clear paint were okay.
Never feed animals in the wild. When humans feed wild animals, that will teach them to stop hunting or looking for food on there own.

On the way to Klode Park, I noticed that it was not sunny and not that hot outside. Like every year, first I stop at a church to get root beer floats. Right after that, It was time for the parade! At the beginning of the parade, Lots of people gave me candy. I saw lots of my friends in the parade. The thing I liked seeing the most at the parade, was a man on a big wheel about to run over a kid for an act. But he didn’t get smashed. I thought it was magic. I started to get hungry so my dad and I got some food. I picked out my favorite thing, butterfly fries. They are very tasty and are a good snack. They are really chips but they call them fries. Trust me, they are not real butterflies. Now here I am at my house typing this story ready to go back for some more fun! Happy Fourth of July!

Do you want to read an awesome, cool, mystery book? Then read Key To The Treasure by Peggy Parish. It is illustrated by Paul Frame.
This book takes place in the beginning of the summer. T is at Bill’s, Liza’s, and Jed’s grandpa’s and grandma’s house. The characters are Bill, Liza, and Jed;(three triplets that visit their grandpa and grandma’s house,) Grandma;(Grandpa’s smart wife), and Grandpa;(A guy who has something to do with the treasure. I’d bet that you’d like Grandpa and Bill the best.
You should read this book because it has clues that you can solve on your own. Another reason you should read this book is that this book is fun and easy to read. Last but not least, this book’s plot and characters are really nice to know and follow. I give these book five stars.
I recommend this book to fourth and fifth graders because it’s not for old kids, just for people who like mysteries. This story is a great big treasure hunt that you could read. Trust me, this book is a blast. Get Key To The Treasure at your local library today.
