نهار السبت وعندما انطلقت حافلة المدرسة في طريقها الى بلدة الرملية في الشوف، كنتُ مستلقياً على السرير في بيت جدتي شارداً في الأفكار وأنا أنام مثل الملوك، وذلك لأنني لم أرد ان أشارك في الرحلة، بل أردتُ البقاء في البيت.
عندما استيقظتُ من النوم، كانت جدتي قد قامت بغلي الماء فشربته، كان لذيذ المذاق و منعشاً. إرتديت ملابسي وانطلقتُ إلى حديقة "الحرش" مع جدّتي، سرنا قليلاً وتحدثنا أيضاً. وبعد ذلك قالت لي جدتي بأنه يمكنني أن أقوم بقيادة سيّارتها في موقف الحديقة.

وصلنا الى البيت وبدأنا بتحضير طعام الغذاء. اّبت أمي من عملها ومعها أختي التي أتت من المدرسة. إستحممتُ ونمتُ نوماً عميقاً.

Dear Mr. and Mrs. H:

Trees are vital to earth and momentous to al living creatures they are also major to non-living things. Sadly, they are rarer than before. Depending on global warming they shall be extinct in a few centuries. That is why all fifth graders in my school are determined to increase the number of trees. For someday we shall show our grand kids how beautiful the world is with trees. That is why I am whiling to work for a dollar a day, because I need $7 by February 5th. With these $7 I will buy and plant pine trees, in order to increase the number of trees in Lebanon.

Why plant trees? One reason is that the trees produce oxygen, and that results in clean and fresh air. Their roots also helps stop erosion which is good for farmers. The tree help as a soil fertilizer, and on top of that; it takes in carbon dioxide.
More over a tree is an animal habitat, you would not like animals without a shelter, for insects, spiders, bees (wich produce honey), and plants. Adding to that it is a part of an eco system. It is beautiful. Even birds, mosquitoes and squirrels live in it
Last but not least; you can use it in different ways. Like in cones by burning them (wich creates a lovely smell). You can use trees for paper to write on, draw and so on. You can also use it for wood like beds, closets, dressers and tables…. A forth reason is; you can also use it for pine wich is a (source of income).

I liked this project because it made us think but it was also extremely tiresome, thanks to Mrs. Noshie it was easier than i thought it would be.

كنت أجهز الملابس والأمتعة الضرورية للذهاب في رحلة الى دير القمر مع تلاميذ ألمدرسة لنبيت ليلة. في هذه الرحلة استمتعنا كثيرا"، و مضى الوقت بسرعة هائلة! عندما وصلنا نصبنا الخيم، كان بناء الخيم سهلا" ولذلك انتهينا بسرعة. بعد ذلك شربنا العصير المنعش وأكلنا ألواح الشوكولا اللذيذة بعدئذ أكلنا المعكرونة بالصلصة الحمراء. ثم قمنا بالمشي لساعة ونصف الساعة.

ذهبنا ولعبنا كرة القدم. حان وقت العشاء، كان السيد أندريه يشوي الشيش طاووق. ثمّ ذهبنا للنوم، أنا لم أستطع النوم من كثرة الفرح والحماس. في الصباح ذهبت وغسلت وجهي ونظفت أسناني واجتمعت مع كل التلامذة. تناولنا المناقيش ورتبنا الحقائب. ركبنا الباص وانطلقنا. عندما وصلنا الى بيروت جاءت أمي وأخذتني إلى البيت.

I kind of liked the first week of school. It was also kind of normal although I am not that happy because my hand was broken, so I can’t play everything. Still, it was kind of fun; some things were how I expected and some other things weren’t as I expected.
