It's the end of the year. It's been a wild ride. I had a lot of fun times with my friends and I had a lt of fun outside of school. I had a hockey tournament in Utah, I switched math classes, and Raphael and I became really good friends. I was successful in keeping good grades throughout the year. I wasn't successful when it came to doing homework. I got it in on time, but I always did it the night before. 

In 8th grade, I want to go for a 4.0 GPA for at least 3 out teamof the 4 quarters. I also want to play on the AA hockey team. I look forward to having more fun times with my friends, and having fun.

The only advice I have for the upcoming 7th graders is not to procrastinate. Without a doubt, procrastination was my biggest problem all year. 

I-Towne was an interesting trip. I was surprised at how small the room was. The entire experience was fun for multiple reasons. I got to miss actual school, which is always good. I felt like the breaks were too short. By the time I was done doing the currency exchange, I was out of time. I feel like everyone will say this, but my favorite part was the sodas and slushees in Mexico. I bought 2 pepsis and 2 slushees. If I could change one thing, I would change the length of the breaks. Overall, I really enjoyed I-Towne.

World History impacts our world today because of a few different reasons. Things like Gladiators impact us because of the media. Little kids run around with fake swords and pretend to be Gladiators, and multiple books and movies have been made as well. My guiding question, "Roman Gladiators, Life or Entertainment?" brings forth history because of the thoughts it provokes. I enjoyed the World History Fair, it was a little short though. I felt like I did a lot of work for a short fair.

The most entertaining part about the fair was looking at all of the projects. It was evident which students put lots of time and effort into their projects, and who didn't. One project was on a table with a cloth and had a display light attached to it. I actually learned a lot about the topic because the student used relevant information. I also noticed that a lot of kids put more effort into their display board then they did their 3-D display.

I had some mixed feelings about Seedfolks. I liked the message it was sending, which was "People can come together and be friends, no matter wht the circumstance is." The book itself I thought was boring. I felt like their was no point to it. Multiple characters came along and shared their thoughts and opinions, but there was no storyline or point to any of it. Since my stance on the book is that it has no plot, I don't have a favorite character. If I had to choose ONE character, I would choose the little girl who started the whole garden. A little girl who wnted to do something important for herself, then started a chain reaction is pretty cool.

I liked all of the activities that we did in our classes. They were fun and really connected to the book. My favorite activity was Mr. Howard's Aluminum Can Flower Project. It was easy, but the end result was very interesting.

My research cam along quite nicely. I got some cool ideas through thought and I decided on making my display board look like it is splattered with blood. I found a cool looking font, "algebrian", and it will fit the theme I am creating. The board was easier to create than I thought it would be, and I am happy with the final outcome!

I can't wait for the end of the school year. I want to enjoy Summer and sit around and do nothing. Even though I love Summer, I usually don't do much. Last Summer, my brother who left for college and I literally did NOTHING. We were so bored that we forget how to breathe, eat, and sleep. But knowing that you can do nothing and not have consequences is awesome.

In science, we dissected chicken wings in order to find out about muscles, ligaments, etc. I didn't like dissecting because of the fact that I had to do all the work, cause it's gross! It wasn't worth while for me. It was hard to cut the skin and find the correct pieces. I did NOT enjoy it.

I was really moved by the Ernest Green movie. I almost cried at a few parts because of the amount of hate going on. I think I would be able to stand up for myself a few times, but eventually, I would be dragged down. The Little Rock Nine were extremely brave and I thing we can all learn from them. If you believe in something, pursue it, no matter what the cost. I think in some ways, people still do discriminate black people. But, for the most part, I think most of the discrimination happens with things like people thinking people look weird, or people thinking that other kids aren't normal. I think everyone needs to become tolerant of each other.
