Fact or Fiction?

The myth of the lost city of

Atlantis inspires today's books,  movies, video games and a whole bunch of other things.  Some ancient writers viewed Atlantis as fiction while others believed it was real.  Even today explorers search for the city of Atlantis.

There have been dozens of locations all over the world thought to be where Atlantis was. Many sites are not within the Atlantic Ocean at all.

It was reported in the UK tabloid press very recently that an image of a grid on the bottom of the sea off the coast of Africa was actually Atlantis.  But none of these have ever  been discovered to be a true Atlantis.

The myth of Atlantis

The rulers of Atlantis controlled Atlantis and other islands as well.  They began a war from their home and sent armies to fight in  Europe and Asia.  The rulers of the city of Athens formed a group from all over Greece to stop them.  The Athenians fought to defeat the Atlantian rulers.  Athens eventually won.  As soon as the war was over, Atlantis suffered huge earthquakes and floods until it disappeared beneath the sea.

Harmony Day

Article posted March 30, 2009 at 06:42 AM GMT • comment • Reads 285

On harmony day the school did lots of multicultural activites.   My favourite activity was when the aboriginal man came in and tought us how to make fire.   He also taught us how to throw a boomerang.  I thought throwing the boomerang was heaps of fun.

We also got our faces painted in a traditional aboriginal design. The paint was really cold.

The magority of the sentences describe where or when. But one of them talks about the character. But It's not only the first sentence that describes the character or talks about where and when. Its mostly the whole first paragraph.

PARAKI

Article posted December 3, 2008 at 05:19 AM GMT • comment • Reads 342

When Paraki got to my house he went straight to my back door and went outside. He then raced back inside and got my sunnies to protect his eyes from the Aussie sun. They were a little bit big though.

Paraki went into my tree house out the front of the house but he got a bit scared.
Paraki saw my DS he wondered what the small pen that came out of the side did.

He saw a Star Wars book and decided to read it. He thought that it was exiting.

Paraki sat in a fruit bowl, but found out that the fruit was fake decorative fruit.

He went to the computer and saw himself on the front page of the blog.

Paraki looked at the globe of the world and saw Australia New-Zealand.

Energy

Its the thing that drives machinery and gives us power to move.

Renewable and Nonrenewable
Renewable includes Wind, Solar, Geothermal, Biomass, and Hydro.
Nonrenewable includes Coal, Oil, Nuclear, and
Natural Gas.

We need to save our energy use because 90% of our energy comes from coal and 10% from water these will eventuly run out so we need to plan for futre energy use.
