Blogging and ESL The conversational part of blogging lends itself to using blogging with English-Language learners. Reading blogs helps them improve their reading skills. If you add podcasting this lets the students work on their spoken English as well. Using blogs in ESL classrooms helps teach fluency, idiomatic or conversational discourse, and cultural or social exchanges in conversation. A blog can be a good space to let the students practice together and build the learning community that will give them confidence on the outside. In addition we can learn much from the ESL students. We can learn from their stories.
