Oh no! Where are they?
We are still waiting for the glue sticks to arrive. In Room 3 we want to finish making our junk-obots. But we can’t stick the parts together because we have run out of glue.
Miss Jones rang the glue stick company and they said they had sent us a box of glue sticks on March 5th. But they never arrived. So on Friday Miss Jones phoned them again and they said they would send us another box of glue sticks. They sent them by Courier on Friday but now it’s Tuesday and they still haven’t arrived. We are feeling angry and annoyed because we can’t finish our junk-obots.
Miss Jones phoned them again today. They are going to send another box but it won’t arrive in time for us to make our junk-obots to show at assembly. So Miss Jones is going to Mitre 10 after school to try and get some gluesticks for us so we can make our junk-obots tomorrow.
We are sick of waiting so we really hope we can finish our awesome junk-obots tomorrow.

Miss Jones bought some gluesticks from Mitre 10 and we finished our junk-obots just in time to show them at assembly today. They were made of junk such as cat food tins, milk bottle tops, ice block sticks, cardboard boxes and straws. We felt happy but nervous when we showed the rest of the school our junk-obots. Finally today Miss Jones found out that the two boxes of gluesticks from the gluestick company were delivered to a school in Tauranga. We don't know how they got Te Awamutu mixed up with Tauranga. It's miles away! The school they were delivered to is called Te Puna , it doesn't even sound like our school name. The company is sending us another box of gluesticks today. Hopefully they get the right address this time.

Two of Monty's friends met each other for the first time. I think Marty got such a fright at seeing a cat that he fainted! Molly had a good sniff around and I wonder why she was licking her lips?

Here is a story I wrote. The main character is ME! What do you think of my story? How could I improve it?
The Story
Two girls were playing swingball. They hit the ball backwards and forwards and round and round. Then someone else had a turn. They hit the ball hard. Then it was time to finish the game and go.
The people playing swingball didn’t know someone else was watching them. It was a small animal. The animal saw the people go back inside. It wanted to play swingball too. It went over to the swingball. It looked at the pole which looked very tall because it was a small animal.
Suddenly it jumped up the pole. But the ball swung around, hit its backside and its legs flew up in the air. The string holding the ball got tangled around one of its legs. The string pulled tighter and tighter and hurt its leg.
“Help me! Help me!” screamed the animal.
But the children couldn’t hear the animal because they had gone.
“Oh please somebody, HELP ME!” cried the animal.
“Hey. I’ll get the swingball set,” said a voice. “Someone forgot to put it away.”
The animal looked around and saw a boy coming towards it.
“Hey look at what is caught in the swingball!” said the boy to his friend.
The boys went over and untangled the string. The animal was a bit sore but very glad to be rescued. The boys took the animal to a lady and she treated the cuts on its leg. Then the animal rested until it was better.

The sun is a very important energy source.
It gives heat and light to Earth. Plants need light to grow. Light acts with water and carbon dioxide in a plant to make its food.
People use the sun's energy to make electricity. Special solar panels are used to convert (change) the sun's energy into electricity. Some examples are solar calculators and solar powered torches.
What do you think of this information report Room 3? Thanks for helping me edit the spelling and punctuation.

Last term Room 3 learnt about spiders and so did I. They may not have realised but I was listening carefully to their discussions. It was all very interesting so I decided to write an information report about spiders. Thanks Room 3 for helping me revise and edit my report.
SPIDERS
Spiders are animals called arachnids.
They have eight legs and two main body parts. They have up to eight eyes and all spiders produce silk.
Spiders catch their prey by hunting it or trapping it in a web. When they catch their prey they kill it using their fangs and then wrap it in silk.

Last weekend I had a bath. It was the first time I have ever had a bath and I really needed it because I had become a filthy, scruffy and smelly mouse.
First Miss Knight mixed some liquid soap into a bucket of warm water in her laundry. Then she dunked me right in! She squeezed and scrubbed and swished me around in the bucket. At first I was a bit nervous but then I felt like I was having a relaxing massage. She rinsed me in clean water then squeezed as much water out of me as she could. I had to lie in the sun for a while to dry and that was very relaxing.
Then Miss Knight got a wide-toothed comb and combed all the tangles out of my fur. That hurt a little bit and I lost a few tufts of fur. But when it was all finished I felt wonderful. Now I think the children in Room 3 enjoy hugging me because I smell sweet and feel soft and cuddly
Thanks Room 3 for helping me write this recount.

Hi everyone, I'm the smallest member of Room 3 and I love being in here with such great children. It takes me a while to learn things and I need lots of help with subjects like reading and writing. Will you help me with my learning this year? I know there are a lot of Live Wires in Room 3 and I'm sure your brains will sizzle and spark and we'll all learn lots together.
