Are You Prepared?

Article posted May 18, 2007 at 01:52 PM GMT0 • comment • Reads 5056

To prepare for college, there is no substitute for getting a solid and broad academic education. This means you should take challenging courses in academic subjects and maintain good grades in high school.

A college education builds on the knowledge and skills acquired in earlier years.

Considering that all of you have plans to attend college eventually, do you feel that Croatan has prepared you for college?

Question #2:

Some schools require their students to wear school uniforms. Some parents and students feel that students should not be made to shed their constitutional right to freedom of speech at the schoolhouse gate. Do you think that wearing uniforms to school is a good idea? Why or why not?

This "manic-dancing" young writer explores the world of poetry... Also, did you know that Murphy's Law states that if you tell a man there are 800 billion stars in the universe, he'll believe you. But if you tell him a bench has wet paint on it, he'll have to touch to be sure? Check out this blogger's site to read more...

The Voices of Today's Teenagers

Article posted November 30, 2005 at 03:08 PM GMT0 • comment (8) • Reads 306

Is anybody listening to the voices of today’s teenagers? I am opening up a forum for the journalism students of Croatan to voice their opinion on certain topics. I think society as a whole is interested in the teenager’s perspective on important issues, especially those that are relevant to them. As always, we welcome the comments and opinions of our visitors as well! Remember that others will be reading your posts so be sure to be clear and concise.

Question #1: We all have bad days, or weeks, or even months. At times, we all feel overwhelmed. Everybody worries. Adults do it and teenagers do it, too. What do you worry about and how do you handle those worries? Who do you usually turn to for help? What do you feel your parents/guardians can do to help you?
