We've had a very busy month and it's only March 16th! We started the month with a math integration day to celebrate World Math Day. Students from k-8 worked in cooperative groups to complete math activities using tangrams. We also had "Robert Munsch" week and celebrated the wonderful books that Robert Munsch wrote. On March 14th we celebrated Pi Day with another math integration. Students measured circumference and diameter to calculate Pi. We also ate banana cream pie because the day wouldn't have been complete without it.
Today is green day at our school to celebrate St. Patrick's day tomorrow. The students have a five day weekend and won't be in school. We also had green pancakes and fruit to start off the day.
We also have report cards coming out next Friday so we've been busy with unit tests and assessments. We're starting a new Social unit on the geography of Canada. http://atlas.nrcan.gc.ca/site/english/index.html In language arts we've been focusing on reading comprehension and elements of stories.
