First to pack your sled you might want to pack some food for the dogs. Some of the food might be high quallity dry dog food, ground beef, beef fat, lamb, lamb fat, chicken, chicken fat, chicken skin, turey skin, fish, etc. Also pack food for your self. Make sure to pack dog booties (8 per dog). Also you need a axe, snowshoes, sleeping bag, cooker, vet book, and race promotional material.

This is Juan and Luis during the Iditarod the mushers have to pack a lot of food to feed the dogs like beef fat and chicken skin. The musher take bacon, Beef jerky and chicken for themself. Mushers stop at the checkpoints to feed there dogs. Some mushers use there pots to boil the snow to make water for themself and the dogs. All the mushers have to take 8 booties for each dog. The mushers take an axe in there sled for cutting the wood to make there fire. Also they take a sleeping bag, vet book, headlamp, dog jackets and a first aid kit.

HI,Jadynn here I would like to tell you what the mushers need before they go
- First they need to make sure that there sled has been checked for any damage.
- Second the mushers need to pack food for themselvs
- Third they need to feed and water the dogs
- They need to pack up things like beef jerky , fish for the dogs , dog food from the checkpoints , any type of fat for the dogs,and pick there favorite food
- Get on the trail

When each musher packs there sled they take things like parkas,gloves,booties,snow shoes,
snow coat,thick socks,extra harneses,baenies,
and a first aid kit,those are most of the things you should bring on your sled.
