Gorillas Gorillas are herbivores that live in tropical and subtropical forests. The closest animal to gorillas are chimpanzees and humans. Gorillas have 98% and 99% of their DNA equivalent to a human. They are the next living related to humans. Human genes are only 1.6% different than gorillas. Gorillas walk with their knuckles. Adult males are from 5 ft 5 in- 5 ft 9 in tall. Adult males weigh about 310-450 lb. Adult females are about 4 ft 7 in tall. They weigh about 220 lb. Obese gorillas weigh 600 lb. A Silverblack is over 6 ft and they weigh 500 lb.
