Today you will spend some time exploring Blogmeister. Have some fun. Over the next couple of days we will add some features, and make some blog posts.

You can make posts about anything. BUT remember I have to read and approve all of the posts. So please don't make posts that will be annoying to me.

On the right side of the blog you will see each student. Please read what they write!

You can control the layout and add pictures, but the layout is simple. Do not, I repeat, do NOT! get too creative as the code will shut the site down. I have to approve layout changes so please let me know if you change something and it doesn't show up.

If you go to the home page of blogmeister you will notice that there are student blogs all over the world. Visit some and leave some polite comments Remember to always follow the protocol name=first name url=YOUR blogmeister address.

Be sure to check back and fix any errors in your articles. Check the comments.

Are your clustrmaps working? How many dots did you get? If you want to grow your audience you must connect and link to other classrooms! Check the front page of blogmeister.

Add additional articles. There are some "extra" prompts on my blog today. Use can use the blog for other classes and thoughts as well.

Inserting a clustrmap in the control panel NOT an article is your task for today. Check for directions on the main shsweb blog.

Did you check how many reads you got about your typing test? Does your link work?

Please check your posts and respond to comments if needed.

Think about the titles of your articles. Check the left side of this blog and the list of student entries. Which entries encourage you to click on them?

Thanks.

Can you make connections?

I have been trying hard to increase our global connections. I encourage you to check: do you have any comments? Did you respond?

A connection is like a flower; you need to tend to it and take care of it and allow it to grow.

Can you make two connections today and get some red dots on your clustrmap in return?

I'd like to see how many of you will take the Blogging Challenge.  Scroll down in that blog to find out how to register (or just do some of the cool things).  Many of the ideas have been assignments here.  But maybe you are a new blogger and need some help.

Can you make connections?

If you made a podcast channel you want to put the code in your "About Me" section so it goes in your sidebar.  It will automatically update everytime you make a new podcast.

If you do this let me know so I can approve the code.

Mid-semester evaluations are being posted.

Good writing so far: Charmaine , Emily

Some of you are giving me very shallow reflective writing.  Give me an entry that teaches the reader something about you, this class, or this subject matter.  Don't be boring and shallow in your writing.

Please be sure to include links as you make your posts on your projects. Take time to read other evaluations. Please format the entry cleanly. Remember that your reader probably hasn't done the project, so explain yourself clearly to your audience.

If you are ahead there are a few reading assignments you could tackle on the main blog.

Dont count Seymour or where the server is (Kansas). How can you get people to click on your blog?

Can you find other blogmeisters and leave comments on their work? That might work.

Remember when you comment to use first name and last initial. Leve email blank, and be sure to use your URL of your blog. That way they will click on your name and give you a RED DOT=http://!!!

Mrs. Deming will be in the Period 4 class on Wednesday to conduct the interview on the breast cancer question.

Those of you participating in this topic should list questions here.

Please show evidence of research in your question. Use her time wisely and ask questions that are fitting for an expert. "What are ways to prevent breast cancer?" is an important question, but a very basic one. Show that you have done your work.

Also, please build off the comments from other people. Use the comment function to discuss the BEST questions to ask.

Also, all Web 2 and Web 4 must complete the blog questions. First one is due Monday.

I am grading your summaries right now. Please be sure to complete the assignment correctly. Check the examples of good summaries that are on the previous blog entries.

Please be sure to check your comments and answer any questions I had.

Also, many of you are starting to get hits on yor clustrmaps. Are there ways you can increase your readership? Why do some people get mroe reads than others?
