Mr. Condie, Rifle's Airport Manager, gave us a tour of the airport. Each student also got to sit in the plane and pretend they were the pilot. Rifle Community is our favorite 3rd grade unit.

Spring means field trips for us. We went to Aspen to continue our study of water and insects. First, we went on a walk to spot wildlife and then examined the water for insects that proves the water is clear.

A Class Poem

IMG_0679.JPG

Curling up in bed
Crying until tomorrow
Waiting till they come back.

You went away so fast
I felt afraid you’ll never be replaced
Why did you have to go away
on your special day?

But now I know you’re in a better place
I know I will see your face again
I know we will see each other

I know we will see each other
one last time in heaven.
I can cry no more
to see my friend again
for life goes on forever.

We learned about the Winter Olympics these passed two weeks. We studied about Italy, and learned some Italian. We loved curling and the figure skating. Then, we created our own Olympic events and on Friday, February 24 we held our Olympics with medals and cupcakes! We even have our first Podcast made by Ms. Hamilton from our school district. Please click on the Olympic Podcast in Related Links.
