This is what we learned today from Punxsutawney Phil, the special ground hog of Ground Hog's Day.
"If you want to know next, you must read my text.
As the sky shines bright above me, my shadow I see beside me.
So six more weeks of winter it will be."

We love being outdoors and we are lucky to have lots of places to go. We have flat places to make snow angels. We have a big hill to climb. It is good for sliding. We make forts and houses in the piles made by the snow plow. We can also go to the rocks by our classroom and play on the snow piles. What do you do for recess at your school?

In math, when we compare, we use words like greater than, less than, equal, least, most and the same. We used different materials to show how to go from least to most or from most to least. When we do this, we make something that looks like stairs.

Several Kinderkids and their families came back to school on Saturday for the Rock Our World Family Night. We were able to video chat with other students in the project and watch the video of all students dancing and singing the Rock Our World song. Amanda's mom made some special cookies to help us celebrate being a part of Rock Our World.
Rock Our World is an International project that connects K-12 students on every continent.Together they collaborate to compose music, make movies, meet each other in live video chats. The theme of Rock Our World 11 is Tolerance. We discussed ways to show tolerance for others many times during class. We know that it doesn't matter what someone looks like, how they dress or how they talk. It is still important to be a friend and be kind. It is important to be tolerant and to get along with everyone. The Rock Our World song is about this. Everyone in the project helped sing the song together. You can find the song in iTunes - Just click here.
We liked using Garage Band to add tracks to songs that came from other schools. We also liked doing video chats and singing the Rock Our World song.

We have eighth grade big buddies. When we met them, they taught us a game called "When the Wind Blows". Then they helped us make trail mix to eat. After that, we taught them a silly song called Chee Che Cha.
We hope we have many more fun visits with our big buddies.

We collected so much money for Jacob that we could not count it by ourselves. Mrs. Knee took it to the bank and they had a special machine for counting coins.
